Primal Combat stampedes into the Hard Knocks arena on the 9th of January to continue its heavyweight tournament, with four of the best big men on the planet squaring off for a spot in the first ever heavyweight title fight and an array of future stars competing in different divisions, this stands to be Primals biggest and best event yet.

Main Event
Greg Winklejax vs Hector Salavez

Winklejax comes into the fight riding a 5-0 start to his professional career and looking to cement himself a spot in a title fight in the near future. A superb boxer with a strong wrestling game, the Albuquerque native boasts a vicious dirty boxing game and thunderous power in his punches. Expect to see Winklejax push the pace early and try to put his wrestling opponent down early.
Hector "The Fox" Salavez, a LA native comes into the fight looking to continue on with his perfect start, currently at 1-0, Salavez is a well drilled wrestling phenom with fantastic takedowns from the clinch and heavy hitting ground and pound that will turn the lights out on any man he begins raining down on. With Winklejax no doubt looking to tie this one up in the clinch, the door is wide open for Salavez to utilize his wrestling game and score the upset of the night.

Co-Main Event
Heavyweight Tournament Fight
Shawn McLean vs Rob Maldonado

The co-main event sees two exciting heavyweight prospects lock horns in their bid to securing their spot in the orgs first ever heavyweight title fight.
Shawn McLean, the 6-0 prospect coming from the Gorilla Warfare MMA fight camp is still riding high from his second round knockout of Courtney Youngs at Primal 2. McLean has taken his training to the next level in the lead up to this fight and only time will tell if he can overcome the exciting Maldonado. Huge punching power and a killer instinct, McLean will need to be at his absolute best if he is to power through Maldonado.
Rob Maldonado, a 2-0 grappler from Team Rain will come into the fight with a distinct wrestling advantage and some of the heaviest hands in the division. Coming off a dominant clinch display that saw him finish Eriksson in his first tournament fight, the question will be if Maldonado chooses to stay standing this time, or whether he chooses to take down the explosive McLean before the dynamite goes off. Both men carry huge punching power and aggression, so the judges can take a break on this one, expect a finish.

Heavyweight Tournament Fight
James Marley vs Gomu Gomu

The heavyweight tournament continues to roll on when Marley and Gomu square off in the Primal cage, both men destroyed their opponents in their first tournament fights and will look to make quick work of each other again in order to gear up for a looming title fight.
James Marley, a 5-1 prospect training out of Amsterdam at the Wild Card gym comes into the fight off an impressive TKO finish of heavyweight contender Buzz Ionel, Marley will be looking to capitalize on his significant weight and power advantage to overcome the highly skilled Gomu.
Gomu Gomu, the Indonesian phenom, comes into the fight after only needing 8 seconds to finish his first opponent, Gomu is a dangerous and aggressive fighter and he will look to chase down Marley with a barrage of punches early. If Marley can weather the storm early, we may see an absolute war.
