The Kid who went the extra mile

Fighter profile of Getzat Downe by Fergs uK

I thought it would be a good idea to show the world, what the youth of today is capable of. Youngsters these days get a bad press from society on a whole. They're lazy, arrogant, ignorant, self-entitled and above all disrespectful... Well that's what the older generation want you to believe.

Enter Getzat Downe. This ex-homeless eighteen year old was spotted chasing down a bag snatcher, in the alleyway outside a local gym. While the other members of the public stood and recorded the mugging on their cell phones, Downe sprang into pursuit of the assailant. He caught the thief within 30 yards and pinned him to the wall. A knife appeared and Downe managed to just avoid being stabbed. Enough was enough, he had tried to be civil and just ask for the bag returning to it's owner. In what many onlookers describe as a flash and twirl, Downe roundhouse kicked the guy in the jaw, knocking him out cold. He returned the bag and politely declined a reward. Mary Nichol, the woman who's bag was snatched called Downe "A real gentleman" and was happy to say she had some renewed faith in the youth of today.

Manager Fergs uK was passing by the incident and saw how Downe dispatched the thief. He mentioned he was an up and coming MMA agent and could possibly have some work if he was interested. Downe mentioned he was homeless and Fergs uK was interested to know more about this humble teenager. Downe had taught himself to fight out of necessity, as living on the streets was about as cut throat as it gets. Fergs uK offered him a basic apartment to get his affairs in order and would encourage the lad to give a one off fight a shot.

In his first fight Downe took just over a minute to KO his opponent, nineteen year old Buster Hendrix. Hendrix had stepped into the ring seven times previous but that didn't mean anything to Downe. Hendrix stood between him and his pay check, so it was a case of do or die in Downe's mind. Getzat Downe now sports a 2-0-0 record, both wins via KO and has landed himself a contract with UPF Underground. He want's to thank his manager Fergs uK for giving him a chance and make sure people are aware that today's youth isn't entirely lost. Keep an eye on him for the future...
