SKULL ISLAND: The Preview

Event Preview: Skull ISLAND
ISLAND FC
2016-03-02, The Island, Hayashi's Lounge - The Island
Author:Justin Credible

Welcome To SKULL ISLAND!!!!! It’s Justin Credible here bringing you another preview, so sit back and enjoy the show!

First up on the main card we got, Sam Jackson v Cam Fowler in what should be a great fight to start the main card off.

These are two relatively new fighters on The Island and they’re looking to prove to the world they belong in The Island’s premier Org. Sam Jackson is a submission fighter who is making the transition from Light-Heavyweight to Heavyweight and will be the much smaller man coming into the fight. He thinks that it doesn’t matter because his wrestling will be enough to take down a man of any size, shape, or form. I certainly hope he’s right, because if he’s not… He’s in for a long and painful night. Cam Fowler is a Muay Thai fighter who’s looking to prove that his first professional loss was a complete fluke. When asked about it he responded like this, “You think that was a cut? I’ve cut myself worse when I was shaving! I’ll show these Islander what a real man fights like, kill or be killed ya bish!” This one will definitely be a battle, I’m taking Cam Fowler in this one though!

Our next fight see’s Lucio Gracie and Gabriel Munoz do battle in the cage!

I think Mamado likes torturing me, this is another Striker V.S. Grappler fight! Lucio Gracie (if you couldn’t tell by the last name) is a BJJ style fighter holding a brown belt. His style isn’t like your typical BJJ fighter, Lucio is aggressive and likes to press the action, which in turn has made him pretty popular with the fans. He’s yet to face someone who could possibly give him a little bit of a headache on the ground, until now. Gabriel Munoz (great transition there, if I might say so myself) is also a BJJ fighter and holds a purple belt around his waist. He’s one of the more well-rounded fighters we’ve seen here in IFC and looks to make it 3 wins in a row after his flash KO loss in the nasty cages of the QFC. He requested this fight and the IFC brass gave it to him, he wants to show the world that he is the best grappler on The Island, and he knows a win over a Gracie will do that. Despite all his confidence, I’m picking Lucio Gracie to win this one, sorry Gabe!

Count Foo v Jesse Enkamp gets us ready for our final 2 fights!

Boxing V.S. Muay Thai, this one definitely has me hyped up! Both of these men will be looking to win some bonus money to spend at Sully’s in this fight. Having lost his last fight to the man I just picked to win the last fight, Jesse Enkamp is looking to redeem himself here and climb back up the rankings. He believes that he’s the best and most exciting striker in the Welterweight division. “Last fight I wasn’t as prepared as I needed to be, and I paid for it… Simple as that. This fight I’m prepared for and will come away with the win.” Count Foo is 2-0 and has looked nothing short of dominant in his performances thus far. He’s needed under 3 minutes and 30 seconds to dispatch his 2 opponents and thinks that he’ll need just under 2 minutes to put Enkamp away in this one. “I’ve faced a Muay Thai fighter before, this isn’t new, and I’ll put him away in under 2 minutes easily. This guy isn’t anything special.” This one will be a straight up WAR, and I can’t wait… I’m picking Count Foo to win this one!

Mark Wahlberg v Horacio Santos is our CO-MAIN EVENT!

Two 3-0 fighters, two Muay Thai experts, and one 0 has to go! These Heavyweights will certainly be looking to finish this fight early and head to Sully’s for some Fried Poki and Beer. Horacio Santos is coming off the biggest win of his career over Rage Icon, a man who took him to his limits and fought him to a draw in their first fight. He believes a win over Mark Wahlberg could stamp his ticket to a title shot. He is a brilliant striker with fast hands and text book foot work. He is a master of controlling the distance and will need to be on top of his game if he plans on beating. Mark Wahlberg (another awesome transition, man I am on Fire!) is the most dynamic striker in the Heavyweight division. With 2 OTN awards to his name in 3 fights, fans have flocked to see his fights and this one should provide the ‘Just Bleed’ gods with enough to hold them over. Wahlberg fully expects a title shot with a win in this fight, and I think he deserves one. With hands like ‘2 guns’ and no ‘fear’ I pick Mark Wahlberg to win this one!

OUR MAIN EVENT IS Hop Sing Jung v Ivan Maksim for the 145lb crown!

This is one of the most anticipated fights in Island FC history! We have the dominant champion against the dangerous and hungry challenger. This fight has Islanders salivating waiting for it and is sure to make headlines. Ivan Maksim is one of the most talked about fighters on The Island, he’s being called out by K-1 fighters, Champions in other weight classes, and Fighters just making their debut! Ivan Maksim, love him or hate him… is one talented S.O.B. He’s 5-0 all finishes 2 by (T)KO and 3 by Submission he’s been nothing short of spectacular, although many questioned his quality of opponent (me included) there will be no one doubting him should he be able to defeat the champion. Hop Sing Jung (Damn me and my brilliant transitions) is a monster! 6-0 with 5 finishes and a dominant decision victory no one is doubting this man’s ability to defend his title! Jung wears a blue belt but fights like a black belt saying, “It’s only a color. The only colored belt that matters is gold sucka!” Only 1 opponent was able to make it out of the 1st round with him and that is only because he’s a brown belt, but even he was thoroughly dominated. Hide ya arms, hide ya necks, and hide ya legs… Because he’s submitting everyone around here! One thing is for sure, no matter the outcome, this magnitude of fight will be hard to match. I’m sticking with my gut in this one, and going with Hop Sing Jung to defend his belt! I am going on record and stating I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an immediate re-match, regardless of outcome… I think this fight will be a classic!

Full Card Predictions Below:

LeClair, Majors, Radovan, Thundercunt, Utara, Fowler, Gracie, Foo, Wahlberg, Jung

Should be a great night of fights! Stay Classy Islanders, Credible OUT!
