THE GOLD STATE

THE GOLD STATE

Good evening violence seekers & vehemence fans.

Steering away from fight previews for an article, “The Gold State” will dig down into the depths of each weight class, look at the champions, and look at the contenders, match them all up and get a good updated feel on where everyone sits in the pecking order.

GKNY FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION – 145lbs

The fiery featherweight phantoms.  I have always loved the speed and agility of the lower weights, and the beauty of watching such short conditioned fighters have the confidence of a giant, the perfect storm.

THE CHAMP: The king of the little people, is Raoul Clavette, he is about to attempt to defend his title for the second time.  He is 6-1-0 and on a three fight streak.  Easily has the potential and skill to stay champ for a good time, though, I think one of the contenders listed below will be able to topple the king off his toadstool.

CONTENDERS:

Johny "Quick" Chambers is an undefeated Canadian at 4-0 and has a solid shot at taking out the champ at GKNY #56.  His ground and pound is a spectacular thing to witness.  This could be the new champion very soon.

Jupiter "Jammin" Jones Ii is on a five fight streak and is now at 6-3.  He is set to fight Frankie Corleone on the #56 card as well, and if he manages a victory he will be in prime position for a stab at claiming the glory of the division, regardless of who wins the above contest.

Chang "The Japanese Zombie" Thong Song, that name is really hard to get past the eyes.  Thong is 6-2, and is facing Delta Frankzola at #56.  A win here would put him in a great spot at the top of the table.  Possibly not a title shot if he wins, but a number one contender fight would certainly be a worthy consolation prize.

GKNY LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION – 155lbs

THE CHAMP: Ron Jeremy. Look at that moustache!  Jeremy is on a six fight streak, and won the title in his last fight. He has a record of 7 and 1. The poster boy of mixed martial arts, more than capable in all areas and has scored both knock out & submission triumphs.  His only loss came in his second professional fight by submission, he looks to have plugged that hole with something big and is now a force to be reckoned with.

CONTENDERS:

A true undefeated fighter with a total of nine wins.  Thor "The Hammer" Odenson is from Norway and loves to smash faces.  He hasn’t presented us with any glaring weakness just yet, he has good control on the ground and in the clinch, and has shown his power several times with 3 TKO finishes and 2 clean brutal knock outs.  This is the real deal.  He has a fight booked on the GKNY #56 card, and is almost certain to make it 10-0 and strengthen his campaign for a title shot.

Karter Kinshaw made it on the list due to momentum.  Being on a 3 fight run (the last two ending by way of TKO) making his resume 4 and 1.  The key here is his next fight.  He will be facing Gary Tonon head on, whoever wins between these two warriors will be sitting pretty to score a shot if their luck holds.  Though unless something happens to Odenson or, he loses, they’ll have to wait in line.

GKNY WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION – 170lbs

THE CHAMP: Mordecai Sackett, the human weapon.  Dangerous everywhere and a record of ten wins and only one loss to back it up.  And that is not all, he has a long resume.  Formerly a GAMMA Butt-Stompers Welterweight champion, mounting one defence before having to give up the belt when signing with GKNY. In his first fight with GAMMA Kids, he captured the title and has had it ever since.  Managing 3 defences, the fourth will be to Milo Markovic – which looks set to be an epic battle.  In his current form this dude looks almost certain to dawn the GAMMA cage at some point in his near future as he is a star in the making.

CONTENDERS:

Shayne Corson has a fight booked against Stormy Crow, but, if he claims a win there he will be in prime position to challenge Sackett if he retains or, Markovic if he upsets.  9-2-0 promotes his name, a solid record for the 23 year old Canadian who has an impressive string of TKO’s through his career thus far.

Emre Hussain, a young buck 18 year old Iranian wrestler with an untarnished record of 4-0, every single one of them has ended by TKO and not one fighter is yet to take Hussain past 2:53 of the very first round!  Aggressive, accurate, powerful and calculated he is ready, and has a fight in line with Jack Stone, of which he should dispatch quickly.  Once he does he can commence taking over the welterweight division.

GKNY MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION – 185lbs

THE CHAMP: Kaino "The Lion" Heikkinen is 12-2 and on a 2 fight winning run.  He has already successfully defended once, and rumour has it that a fight is in the works for another title defence in the near future (Confirmed - GKNY #60 verses Donald Gaskins). The lion, roar, is pretty well rounded as a mixed style fighter, however, he has one glaring weakness and that is - both of his defeats have come from submission. And as the proverbial nail in the coffin, both of these submission losses were within his last six fights. Is this a potential hole in his game?

CONTENDERS:

Caliph Hameed Shahzad "Arabic Pimp" Huseyin.  Seriously!?  How long can a Fin name be??

Names aside, the pimp can fight.  Seven wins on the official record, all by TKO, and one lonely loss.  Very talented, he won six fights in a row at middleweight here in the GKNY middleweight division.  He went nuts knocking everyone’s teeth.  Admirable, he stood up a division to 205lbs and faced the champion Mick Dundee for the light heavyweight championship.  What a fight it was, went through 20 minutes of action to the fourth round, and ultimate knock out of Huseyin.  He put up an epic battle.  And now his back, to take his revenge out on the middleweight division.

Undefeated! Sandayu Momochi is 5-0 from Japan, every one of those wins coming from submission. Another fighter who hasn’t been tested the distance yet, no challenger has lasted with him for longer than 2:18 of the second round.  Clearly a submission specialist, if he wins his current booked fight he will certainly get a shot at gold soon enough, and with his ground skills he could cause trouble for all the names listed here for this division.

GKNY LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION – 205lbs

THE CHAMP:   Crocodile Dundee walks into a bar with a pet crocodile by his side. He puts the crocodile up on the bar and turns to the astonished patrons.  “G'day all...I'll make you a deal. I'll open this crocodile's mouth and place my manhood inside.  Then, the croc will close his mouth for one minute. He will then he'll open his mouth after the time has elapsed, and I'll remove my goods unscathed.  In return for witnessing this spectacle, each and every one of you will buy me a drink.”

The crowd murmured their approval.  The man stood up on the bar, dropped his trousers, and placed his Credentials and related parts in the crocodile's open mouth.  The croc closed his mouth and the crowd gasped.  After a minute, the man grabbed a beer bottle and smacked the crocodile really, really hard on the top of its head.  The croc opened his mouth and the man removed his genitals unscathed as promised.

The crowd cheered, and the first of his free drinks were delivered.  The man stood up again and made another offer. “I'll pay anyone $100 who's willing to give it a try.”  A hush fell over the crowd. After a while, a hand went up in the back of the bar. A blonde woman timidly spoke up...

“I'll give it a try” She called out.

“Just don't hit me so hard with the beer bottle!”

Australians will love that one.  And that is exactly where our Champ was born and raised.  Mick Dundee has a great record at 9-2, 6 fights in a row for the crocodile hunter, most of them by TKO.  He has proven he owns the belt and is undisputed having now defended the prize twice.  My source behind the scenes has informed me that his next fight is in the works, and it will be for the belt.  That will be an exciting announcement. (Announced – GKNY #60 verses Hughtavious Mingo)

CONTENDERS:

Sixth Fist, who seems to come from a pretty impressive family, is 8-1 and calls the

United States his home.  Some decent power at only 22 having 7 wins achieved by TKO, and did I mention he is on a six fight stretch?  Just like most of his blood line, he is the real deal and a formidable challenge for the Aussie champ.

Loke "The Deceiver" Sabel is a young 24 year old wrestler from Sweden.   The man has skills supporting a shiny resume boasting an undefeated record of 6-0.  He has wins from all areas of the cage, standing and on the floor as well.  He has the potential and at the moment, he isn’t wasting it.

Likely won’t get a shot at Dundee until he has another win or two up his sleeve, but he is ready for him at a moment’s notice.

GKNY SUPER-HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION 265lbs+

As sad as it is there is no current champion.  The belt is sitting in the owner’s office looking pretty in a glass case.  But not to worry, soon enough there will be title fight to decide a new champion, let’s have a look at the plausible contenders. (Announced – GKNY #58)

CONTENDERS:

Fifth Fist should be in first spot to get a shot at the vacant title, but misses out this time.  He has a record of nine wins and one loss.  Seven of those wins were by clean KO and a further once by TKO – explosive KO power is present here. He will almost certainly have to get a shot at some point.

Another home grown American MMA star.  Frank "The Growler" Brewer, 9-2-1 and is 22 years old.  This lucky big fella has been forwarded the chance to become the new champion, facing Per Saukko for the vacant trophy.   He is pretty well rounded and will cause his opponent problems from everywhere.

Per Saukko is Brewers challenge for the belt.  He has a record of 7 wins and 3 losses.  The Finland fighter boasts every one of his wins by knockout.  No stranger to the gold accolades, having come from being the champion at the last organization he signed for.  And it could be a fairy tale for the Finn, having a shot at GKNY gold on the #58 card against Brewer, which is a fight I look forward to previewing soon.

That is it ladies and gentlemen.  If your fighter was not listed then make some noise and pose your argument on the GKNY thread, speaking of which, there is nowhere near enough smack talk going on around here – pay attention fighters – a high social profile gets you big dollar fights and huge pay per view title shots.
