Primal hits the Hard Knocks on Saturday night with one of the largest events to date, boasting two title fights and an array of up and coming fighters, the stage is set for a record breaking event.
Main Event
Greg Winklejax vs Trzy Trzy
The main event of the night pits two world class 280k middleweights against each other in a collossal title fight. Winklejax is one of the most exciting and popular fighters to ever set foot inside the Primal cage, however the highly impressive Trzy will be looking to cement his place at the top of the heap and prove his mettle in a fiery showdown between two natural finishers.
Winklejax comes into the fight riding on a wave of knockout finishes and a perception of invincibility. Winklejax is a very accurate and aggressive boxer who uses his height and strength to put pressure on in the clinch and land dirty boxing shots, it is no doubt going to be his gameplan again coming into this fight, the only question is whether he can do it against a wrestler as good as Trzy.
Trzy comes to Primal combat after a successful stint at Golden Fist Fighting Championship, where he was able to win and defend his light heavyweight title. Stepping down in weight class may see Trzy become even more dangerous, he will be the heavier man, however his smaller stature may become a problem if the much taller Winklejax can clinch up with him or choose to keep him on the outside with the jab.
Trzy usually utilises an aggressive clinch game, however he may look to avoid that aspect given his considerable height disadvantage and choose to try and drag his opponent to the ground where his wrestling pedigree will allow him to dominate and lay the ground and pound onslaught on his way to capturing the gold.
If this fight exits the first round, all signs point toward Trzy being able to wear the champion down with his superior grappling abilities, however Winklejax has the power to finish this fight at any moment, so don't blink once the bell rings to start this fight.
Co-Main Event
Heng Jiang vs Ebeneezer Darkk
The co-main event of the night sees two of the best lightweights at Primal come to blows, when the champion Jiang puts it all on the line against the highly skilled Muay Thai striker, Darkk.
Heng Jiang has seen nothing but success so far in his Primal career, capturing the lightweight title with a devastating head kick knockout of prolific grappler Jose Perez and winning the lightweight tournament. Every fight the Chinese native has taken part in, inside the Primal has resulted in a finish and he will no doubt be looking to stop this one early too.
Darkk will be his greatest test to date and poses a genuine threat to his positioning at the top of the division, however the unpredictability of Jiangs striking game, and his ability to take the fight anywhere he wants may see him come out the other end of this one on top still.
Ebeneezer Darkk has been nothing short of a revelation since his Primal debut back in late December, disposing of his first two opponents inside the Primal cage at 17 seconds and 1 minute and 5 seconds respectively. A devatasting kickboxer with huge power and two head kick finishes to his name, the New York native will be out to stun his home crowd once again and take out the champ, Jiang in vicious fashion. Expect Darkk to not deviate from his natural kicking game too much, and try and use his height advantage to land that destructive head kick once again.
Punches, kicks, violence and aggression, that's what these two fighters are all about, this may just be the fight of the night. Who's chin will hold up?
