Company profile by ISLAND FIGHTS 2 was again live from the Hard Knocks Arena in The Island showcasing the best martial artists the island have to offer...we had none less then 2 title fights ,with 2 of the most promissing and well managed champions in the ranks of our iloustrious promotion....Snoop Dog was in da house with some of hes best badast bitches prezenting hes new album "DONT FUCK WITH DA UNIT".....he said: "im looking forward to watch some blood flow ,some chokes go and some brains blow....THEUNIT allways brings it and i love to come to their shows...specialy when Diaz turns up to with hes 209 crew...thats a bad mother fucker right there".....now the fights ,what else can i say,it was an AMAZING card with plenty emotions and finishes, let me break it down for you:
265+ lbs TITLE FIGHT Rudy Mar Binay vs Test Rage
After defeating our long term champion and HOF ,Rudy made a quick reaperance to defend hes belt for the first time against a very dangerous oponent in Test Rage....both fighters came into this fight undefeated and someone 0 would have to go,and that 0 was Test 0....Test hight makes him particulary susceptable to submissions ,and thats a very dangerous weekness to have when you up against someone with Rudy's submission skills.....and he waisted no time in taking the fight to where he wanted,he avoided a wild right hand from Test and shoot for the takedown sussessfully landing on Test guard then working hes miracles ,with a few failed attemps before finaly managing to go for a kneebar,a dangerous move, but that shows the level of confidence this fighter is in at the moment....compeling 1st round submission win for Rudy Mar Binay
155 lbs TITLE FIGHT Pyry Kontio vs Herminio Herculano (SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT)
This was allways going to be about Herculano's ability to avoid the takedown,and he did that quiet well for most of the first round ,he used hes superior strenght to control and stall in the clinch and was being sussessfull with hes strikes too, but he couldnt go over agressive and strike because he was allways worried to defend any takedown attempts from hes oponent, he did just that for most of the round until finaly Pyry with little more then one minute left in round one, he manage to take the fight to the matt, and show us all what was to come in round two,the first round was mostly dominated by Herculano but Pyry came back and was on top in the last minute or so showing dominant positioning on that final ground exange....
round two started and Pyry kept hes faith on hes game plan and kept going for the takedown but this time he manage to get it as soon as the round started, and mentaly that killed herculano willingness to stay in the contest,after all that would be a long 4 minutes in front of him and he showed very poor heart, when he almost deliberatly gave that arm to death, it was almost like if he dont wanted that shit anymore,Pyry made a meal of it and finished the fight as soon as the chance was presented to him.....good 2nd round submission
265 lbs Gaku Nakanishi vs Horacio Santos
This fight was very easy to call from a neutral point of view, the first round started with Gaku managing to get hes takedown and controling the rest of the round with hes superior positioning control and transitions...the second round started but this time Santos managed to keep the fight standing and he was the better man controling the intire second round using hes good footwork , cage control and takedown defence made the diference in this round and could easily be givinen as a 10-8 round based on the takedown stuffed by Horacio....the fighters knew they would have to win the third to have any chance of wining and they looked determined to do just that...Horacio's faith was done when he was taken down right after the round started....he did hes best to avoid the unslought of strikes that Gku was raining down on him....and was unfortunate not to go to the distance....Gaku with 1 second left to the end of the fight tko Horacio due to the cheer acumulation of strikes....To the end TKO win for Gaku Nakanishi
135 lbs Royce Disgracie vs Freak Wannabe
Royce transformed this fight into a dog fight ,making it as messy as he could and using hes dirty boxing to do the job....he absolutly trives on those conditions and in this case hes oponent had no answer either to avoid the clinch or to get out of it.....dominante performance all the way trough until the TKO arrived midway trough the second...hes big heart and acurate punching were the diference here....this win puts him up there in the title contention and the sky is the limit for this young Brazilian....hes oponent however was left wondering what happend ,hes face looked a mess and if any thing we have to give it to him,hes strong chin, that kept him in the fight for a bit longer then expected....Dominante 2nd round TKO win for Royce Disgracie
185 lbs Carlos Reis vs Robert Hall
In this fight we saw a very determined but not very clever fighter trying to clinch whatever means necessary, and abandoning defense completly ,never mind a tactical aproach....Robert rushed in ,chin in the air and was being counter with sniper precision with beautifull combinations...Reis looked the better fighter all around but he didnt won the fight ,hes oponent did it for him, very slopy and over agressive he looked more like a drunken guy in a friday night club fight....apauling performance from Hall ,but Reis scored another important win here....shame we probably will never watch him fight again....hes manager is on the loose trying to evade the federal bureau investigation for fraud, the fighter is stuck with him and the "government " should look into this situation that plages organizations all around the Tycoon world....good 2 nd round TKO win for Carlos Reis
185 lbs Harold Armstrong vs Attela Attela (FIGHT OF THE NIGHT AWARD)
When you put togheter two of the most exiting strikers in the division,thats what you get, a great stand up fight, a masterpiece in the eyes of the most educated fighting fans....Those two absolute warriors allways bring it and this time was no diferent....they didnt try to go for surprise game plans , they just stick to what they know best and that defenitly paid of for us as fight fans and as a promotion, but im not so sure this type of war will help this two fighter mental health when they older.....It was a very close fight but Amstrong caught the eye of the judges with hes ability to avoid the clinch, and hes combinations at the end of the rounds did the job....Attella was trying to hard to get the clinch that made him pretty predictable and easy to counter, he was doing a great job with the body punches ....he must feel like he could have done better but thats the fight game you loose some you win some....unless you Floyd Mayweather and you like too run from tuff chalanges like a bitch....Close Decision win for Harold Armstrong
170 lbs Vito Scaletta vs Ronnie Sammartino (KO OF THE NIGHT)
In this fight we had one of the most promissing youngster in our ranks....this 18 year old is 3-0 now and this was probably hes best performance to date...he looked particulary good working from the clinch he uses hes dirty boxing as hes best weapon he uses short porwerfull shots and let hes natural power do the job....hes not over agressive but he keeps the pressure on hes oponent in a way that few 18 year olds do....for hes oponent Ronnie was a tough night he got badly cut and bruised and this defeat will not help this youngster moral .....convincing 1st round TKO win for Vito Scaletta
185 lbs Rocco Antonio Siffredi vs Popoy Basha
I loved to call this fight for the simple fact that i hate the tactics that Basha tried to use to win this fight, the takedow submission do nothing else aproach...nah ,i hate that style passionatly....so i was jumping off my seat when he got tko ....i tought it was going to be another 10.000 submission attempts until he finaly get it,but no,Rocco had a diferent plan,he did very well in controling position and did not try to escape or advanve position....eventualy the ref stand them up, and that was the begining of the end for Basha...Rocco a much better boxer ,had a better perception of distance and was very acurate with hes punching,he managed to instigate the clinch and he absolutly took control of the fight from that point onwards and it didnt took him long before he managed to get hes finish....comeback 1st round win for Rocco Antonio Siffredi
170 lbs Endang Kurnia vs Reyanne Ignacio
In this fight we had two fighters trying to get their first win in one corner we had an 18 year old a very good wrestler with basic striking and a heart like a lion ,in the other corner we had a 25 year old exelent boxer with heavy hands ,this was allways going to be who could avoid the other strenghts better and that one, was the youngster, he was spot on with hes timing on the shooting for the takedown and manage to get hes oponent down twice ,both times countering a combination...the first time the ref stood them up but in the second time Kurnia manage to secure hes kimura...very good indeed and hoopfully this win will boost hes confidence and gets this run going.....deserved 1st round Submission win for Endang Kurnia
This was it , very good card with 2 unbeaten champions defending their belts sussessfully and some of the most talented youngster in the promotion show their skills and desire to one day have the honour to strap that belt around their waist....Me and the crew wish you all good preparation and luck in your fights.......
