Event Preview: GAMMA#552 Juste v Williams
Global Association of MMA
2016-04-16, Los Angeles, LA Memorial Colossuseum
Author:Mentor Guru Corleone

Event Date: 16.04.2016

Location: Los Angeles

Arena: LA Memorial Colossuseum (93,607)

Welcome to issue 11 of the dirty box, where we will look at the fast approaching #552 event which returns to LA to light up the night sky with some legendary matchups. And not only that, we once again have a massive headliner where the Welterweight belt is up for grabs in a clash of epic proportions.

Once again it is time for another masterful card from the GAMMA machine, let's not dawdle, and let's get down to the fights!

UNDER CARD

- Paul Landen v Napoleon Dynamite - 155 lbs

Preview: At only 27 years old Landen is not traveling overly well, and seems destined to be a speed bump at the bottom of the table. He has 18 wins and 15 losses, every single one of those losses was by mean KO, that will definitely leave a mark on him. Dynamite has 26 wins and 19 losses with 2 draws. His chin is a bit stronger, and I think he will break his two fight losing streak and get the W. Dynamite by unanimous decision.

- Johann Bismark v Jules Winnfield - 205 lbs

Preview: Wow, Bismark may have bitten off more than he can chew. He is outmatched on paper in his first GAMMA outing previously fighting for Prestige FC and managing to put a streak of nine wins together, a great accomplishment. His first GAMMA test is clearly the biggest fight of his career thus far, he sits at 10 and 1, and is hungry for GAMMA glory. He could go for the tap here, but his opponent is great on the ground defending, if that is his only game plan that could pose some problems come fight time. Winnfield is standing at the GAMMA gate guarding it proudly, at 32-19 he is no joke. He is coming off a loss, but is looking to end the newbies hot streak and has all the skill needed to do so. With 25 nasty KO's on his fists, he will be looking to knock Bismark out for the first time in his career. Winnfield by TKO, and Bismarks loved ones will be crying ringside.

- Stelio Kontos v Kurko Tyrma - 205 lbs

Preview: Two warriors that prefer to stand and dance. Kontos is 13 and 5, broke his winning streak in his last fight but is back on track and loves to end fights fast. Tyrma is 22-7-1, also dropped his winning streak last fight and is looking to turn it around. Both are dangerous on their feet, but Tyrma gets the nod here, he can control this fight from start, to finish. Tyrma by TKO.

- Robin Yount v Sambo Rambo - 170 lbs

Preview: Combat Rambo, ready to take the GAMMA cage for the third time and is on a roll. He is 13 and 11 with 1, but has turned it around with 5 straight wins under the new management of Yamashita Craven. Yount is fresh of a loss and is now a very decent 12 and 4, and has a great chin never having been TKO'd thus far, he will be no easy challenge. Rambo has the edge here, he could take this out by decision but I think he will find a spot on the ground and make Yount tap out.

- Jt Colossus v Tamias Poochyena - 265+ lbs

Preview: Well over a hundred fights between these two, Colossus sits at 55-45-1 coming off a loss, and Poochyena is at 42-20-3 coming off a win. Poochyena looks strong here, his record is more impressive, and he has the skill and momentum. He should add another TKO finish to his long list. Poochyena by TKO.

MAIN CARD

#1 - Craig "Cee-Chop" Clendennon (182954) vs "The Whoreson" Lik Alotadik (161997) - 145 lbs

Blue Corner: Cee-chop. The ring announcer should have fun with that. A Chicago born Muay Thai fighter, fighting out of Montreal with a rap sheet of 29 wins, 12 losses and 1 draw. Notable throughout his 12 losses he has never been knocked out, and never been tapped. The chin is strong in this one.

Red Corner: The Whoreson faces Cee-chop. Yep, good luck announcer. Alotadik is from the UK, fighting out of Las Vegas, he is dangerous everywhere and at 36 he could have a number of fights left yet. He sits at 29 wins, 15 losses and 3 total draws in his career, I know for a fact he is fired up about this fight so expect some sparks - that said I don't believe he possess the ground game to bother Cee-chop at all so this will likely be decided on the feet.

Preview: The two went to battle at GAMMA #548, where the contest went to a majority draw. I love redemption fights, everyone is so hungry to prove everyone wrong! The first fight was a stand up war and it was very close, expect the same in this fight though perhaps more aggression. Cee-Chop does cut often, but has never lost a fight because of it so that shouldn't play too much of a part. Clendennon to take the decision win in this rematch.

#2 - Gunnar Steigelmann (196145) vs Connor Mac Burns (233017) - 265+ lbs

Blue Corner: Germany's finest! Fighting out of New York he is 33 years old and has 27 wins under his cap, along with 15 losses. His on a two fight skid, both by late TKO, both title fights. He will want to get some heat going quickly and throw his hat back in the title fight race.

Red Corner: Mac Burns reining from Galway Ireland, 26, now based out of Los Angeles, and has picked up a 13-6 record. Under the new management of Lars Frederiksen he is five wins on the trot, an impressive turn around, and being his first GAMMA fight you know he'll be ready to boogie when the ref throws his hand down.

Preview: A great test for the young GAMMA new comer, Burns is ready for this fight. He is younger, he wants it more and is on one hell of a streak. Mac Burns to end this fight by TKO upset in the second.

#3 - Oisin "The Deer" O Conghaile (143654) vs Matt Quin (239220) - 185 lbs

Blue Corner: The Irish flag will be strong in the crowd with another proud fighter from Ireland. He has set up camp in Las Vegas and is holding up a 34-24 record, 38 years old, whilst it is impressive he has scored 29 TKO victories it is a concern he has been TKO'd 16 times. Coming off a win at GAMMA #547 by KO off an impressively timed kick that ended Bon Aqua's night very early, he is high on confidence and is looking for a similar style finish.

Red Corner: Mr Quin, the beast from Belgium now fighting out of Las Vegas. At 27 years old he has thirteen wins and only three losses, and his last outing was disappointing where he failed to capture the championship from Viv Richards at GAMMA #546 where he lost by split decision. He will be fired up, and will want to end this fight early so he can get another shot at the champ in the near future.

Preview: O Conghaile is unfortunately being led to slaughter in this bout. Quin out shines him on the skill sheet and can win the fight standing, and grappling, unlike his opponent. He is younger, hungrier and will likely end the fight quickly by TKO in the first, and may even call out the champ in his post-fight interview for a rematch.

#CO-MAINEVENT - Ray "The Raven" Lewis (199055) vs Arthur Pinto (252602) - 170 lbs

Blue Corner: United States Born “The Raven” fights out of the city lights in Las Vegas, he is 32, under the management of GSP’s Illegitimate Son and has a professional standing of 27 wins and 9 losses. He ended a four fight win streak in his last outing at #547 where he dropped the belt on his second defence against Renan St Juste (whom is fighting in the main event, you can bet he'll be watching this fight). He will want a firm win here to reboot his push to regaining his top dog status.

Red Corner: From Brazil, at 25 years old he now fights out of St Petersburg and has managed a brilliant 16-1 record under the management of Central Park Wigan. Also a former Champion of this division, he dropped the belt at #526 against McTearson, but has managed a comeback victory since then against Jax Teller at GAMMA #546.

Preview: This fight feels like a number one contender fight. Both of these fighters are former GAMMA Champions and are both lobbying for another shot at the gold. Pinto wants this more, but it is a close contest and could easily go either way. Pinto by third round TKO.

#MAINEVENT - Renan St Juste (102580) vs Stanly Williams (174422) - WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

I love the buzz and anticipation of the main event. Everyone is standing and awaiting the legends to appear and throw down, the main event of the card, here it comes!

The following contest is scheduled for five, five minutes rounds, in the GAMMA Welterweight division, and as for, the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts, Welterweight Championship of the world!

Introducing first! The Champion! Fighting, out of the red corner, a proud Canadian fighting out of Montreal and under the management of Gale Hawthorne. He has amassed a record of 57 wins with a huge 36 of them by TKO, and 18 losses with 2 drawn contests. He stands 178cm tall and weighs in at 170 pounds, he is the reigning Welterweight Champion of the world, Renan St Juste!

The Challenger, fighting, out of the blue Corner, hailing from Portland and fighting out of Las Vegas he has 26 wins and 16 losses. He is 35 years old, under the management of Rabid Alien, he stands 178 cm tall and weighs in at 170 pounds. He is hungry for his first GAMMA Championship belt, Stanly Williams!

Preview: What a main event clash. Juste is a true GAMMA Veteran having held the belt like ten times in his career, a true champion and a true fighting legend. His opponent is 10 and 6 in GAMMA, he is on a two fight win streak, and definitely has the edge on the ground. The problem is Juste has only ever been submitted once, and that was back in 2011, clearly he has plugged that hole and is a master of defensive grappling and escaping. Juste is a tough competitor, so much so that I couldn't bet against him in this fight. Juste to retain by unanimous decision.
