2016’s top paid MMA fighters

Editorial by Mike Tycoon

Mixed Martial Arts is becoming much more popular than boxing in recent years, with some MMA fighters raking in some super impressive salaries. Today we will have a look at the current most successful MMA superstars. This list is based on projected earnings in 2016.

With the number one spot earning their maker over $1 000 000 a year, it is enough to make you want to quit your day job and join the ranks of MMA fighters! But be aware, these people have trained long and hard to get to where they are, and it is not something you can achieve overnight. Maybe set your sites on a slightly easier way to up your income; join the Euro Palace mobile casino for gaming on the go. This way you do not need to put all your proverbial eggs in one basket and quit your job! Online poker and other casino games can be lucrative if you are skilled enough. With an online mobile casino, it has never been easier to utilize any free moments you have. Whether you have been put on hold on the phone, or have a client who is late for a meeting –you have the convenience of taking out your mobile phone, playing a few hands, and hopefully winning some good money in the process.

#1: Connor McGregor

So, let us start at the top of the food chain with Connor McGregor who is estimated to be earning at least $1 080 000 this year. Not too shabby! McGregor is actually fairly new to the MMA scene. Considering he only made his MMA debut at the beginning of 2013, it is super impressive that he has risen so quickly; and is now the top earning fighter in the industry. He was previously undefeated until earlier this year when he lost against Nate Diaz.

#2: Anderson Silva

Silva is a household name and favorite. We would have expected him to be at the top of this list; but clearly his 2013 leg injury that benched him for a considerable amount of time (about two years), gave McGregor the gap to take his place and cement his position as number one. Despite his hiatus, Silva earns $665 000, and he still has some outstanding achievements. He has the most UFC title defenses as well as the most UFC career knockdowns.

Conor McGregor

#3: Nate Diaz

Clocking in at number three, we have Nate Diaz who is estimated to earn a commendable $620 000 this year. Diaz has actually been fighting since 2007, but has only recently become more well-known and popular. His fame became almost instant earlier this year in March, where he was the substitute for the lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, in a fight against McGregor. As a complete underdog, it was a huge surprise that Diaz beat McGregor in the second round. As a result he has become incredibly well respected, and not only has his popularity increased –so has his earning potential!
