Dateline Sydney. Damien Thorn had his biggest challenge to date at Sydney Fighting Clubs “In Cage” event on the 28th of May. Not only did he face a tough opponent but he had to face the critics that said he could not go more than one round. After last night he proved them all wrong. Not only did “The Omen” win and retain his title but he was pushed into a fight that went four rounds silencing those critics as he seemed the fresher of the 2 fighters.
Now let's not take anything away from Kenyuk Beluk as he gave Thorn a good fight. Beluk came out in the first round swinging which confused Thorn at first throwing him off his game plan.
Thorn took some early shots to his legs and had a hard time closing the distance and catching Beluk. Thorn tempting fate brought the fight to the ground were he really did not want to be risking submission.
The Omen putting his weight on his opponent made Beluk expend more energy than he wanted to. Second round Thorn having trouble still trying to connect, closed the distance by clinching up with Beluk working the body with some well placed shots, as the pace of the fight picked up a bit The two started to trade punches Damien then started connecting with some jabs and a few painful leg kicks.
Beluk moved in to bring the fight to the ground in the last remaining seconds of the round.
As the fight went into the later rounds Thorn started to connect more of his strikes Rocking Beluk in round 3 got the crowd to their feet but Beluk would not go quietly as he landed a few good shots of his own.
By round four Beluk was out of gas Thorn landing shots on the inside then a big right hand dropped Beluk and “The Omen’s” killer instinct kicked in as a series of strikes brought the fight to the end of the fight after 1:15 of round 4.
Damien Thorn goes to 7-0 and after the fight The Omen had nothing but good words for Beluk as he sure earned the respect of Thorn. Beluk gave him a fight and that is what Damien “The Omen” Thorn likes
