Island Combat Three Preview

The third installment of pay per view for Island Combat will be another explosion on the MMA Tycoon scene. It features ten total fights, with the last two, both as title bouts.

The opening fight is in the Welterweight division. It features Cub Diaz and Luna “Pow Pow” Ploy. Cub comes into this fight with a 3 win streak  of his three fight career. He has defeated his opponent by decision each time as well. Diaz tries to keep the fight in clinch, and throws impressive shots when in clinch. Diaz also knows when to stall from clinch if he needs too. Problem is a fighter has not caused him to fight from striking distance, or on the ground, so I’m not sure how effective he is in those areas. Luna comes in after a loss in Island Combat One. This happened as he threw predictable strikes, and barely land anything, so his opponent capitalized on his mistakes. Luna can be taken down, but he has worked, and improved his defense there. In my opinion the favorite is Cub, if he can stick to his gameplan, and control Luna in the clinch.

The second fight is in the Light Heavyweight division. It features Justin Sane, and Don Julio Cesar Chavez. Justin Sane comes in with his last win on the card of Island Combat One. Justin has great striking power and great awareness in the cage. He has great power, even in the clinch. He also uses the clinch for offense, early, and often in his fights. On the other side of the cage, Don comes in with a loss in Island Combat One versus Carlos Newton. Don also comes in with two losses which will mean he has to change up his tactics somehow. He has to work on his takedown defense and his transitions for sure. Positives is Don, can catch opponents off, and has proven to be slippery, bringing tapes from anywhere in a fight. In my professional opinion the favorite has to be Justin, he can knock him out from anywhere in the cage.

The third fight is the Light Heavyweight division. It features Kyle Long and Tobias “The Viking” Swanson. Kyle likes to look for counters and comes in with an accurate punch. Then after Kyle lands from his counters he comes in and finishes the job. This will work, but also means he takes a lot more punches, and if he can’t counter them, it’s not good for him. Tobias comes into the fight with a variety of both submission, and TKO victories. Tobias prefers to either use his standard issue head or body punch. Tobias will come in fast and dangerous landing him so early knockouts. In my professional opinion Tobias is the favorite due to power of punches, and if his opponent cannot control him he will win.

The fourth fight is in the Heavyweight division. It features Ulrich Holworth and Roland La Starza Ulrich comes into this fight with a 5 win streak. Ulrich has not left the first round in any of his fights so far. He goes for an early clinch pressing his opponent against the cage. Then from here he goes for a takedown. His favorite submission to use is the armbar. But his only loss came from a standup fighter. Roland comes in win a 4 win streak out of all of his four fights. He goes in with a clinch against the cage then goes into his striking.  He then looks to stall till he is ready again then continues his strikes. He also has two different managers Gianki  Bonghi first, and then Edogawa Con the reason is unknown. In my professional opinion the favorite is 50-50 fighters have similar tactics.

The fifth fight is in the Bantamweight division. It features Royce “Disgrace” Disgracie and Prostate Orgasm. Royce comes into this fight with a 6 win streak, which is impressive since he only has been in six fights. Royce is an agile man that can slip punches, with his stellar striking defense. He also can shake takedown attempts, if his opponent goes for them. Royce will look for a finish in this fight for sure. Prostate come into this fight with four submission victories. Prostate has improved his transitions, and escapes from his loss from Miesha Tate.  Prostate will try to move out of striking distance, as soon as he can, with either clinch or a takedown. In my professional opinion, Prostate is the favorite if he can move the fight, and keep it on the ground, where he can work his game.

The sixth fight is in the Bantamweight division. It features Patrick Bullar, and “Artic Frost” Issumatar Tariaksuq. Patrick comes in and tries to control his opponent in the clinch. He then targets the head while inside the clinch. But he can be seen as open, to other counter strikes, to the body, and leg. Patrick Bullar also tries to throw single accurate punches instead of combos. Do not let Bullar control you in his clinch, or that could be lights out for you. Issumatar last was seen at Island Combat One where he lost to Walton Kunz. Issumatar lost the last fight when he was countered after a kick, and was controlled then he taped shortly after. Issumatar likes to use a number of kicks to the head, body, and leg to control and soften his opponent. Issumatar also knows when he needs to adapt his gameplan, if the fight I not going to plan. In my professional opinion, the favorite is Issumatar he has a lot more experience, and if he can adapt then conquer he will win.

The seventh fight is in the Featherweight division. It features Royal Pain and Richards “Middle Dick” Richards lii. Royal comes into this fight with a 39 second submission in the first round versus Prince Idowu, at Island Combat One. Royal rarely leaves the first round, and is a takedown expert. Royal shoots for a takedown early and tries to land in guard or half guard at least. If Royal is allowed to do this thus controlling you as he has done many times before he will win this fight. Richards last fight was a loss versus Peter Potter in Island Combat One. Richards will look for his counter and go for a takedown.  He always shoots to land in guard with his takedown as well. In my professional opinion, the favorite is Richards if he can keep the fight on the ground.

The eight fight is in the Bantamweight division. It features “Pretty” Peter Potter and Carlos Diego Ferreria. Peter comes in after a win in Island Combat One, versus Richards Richards lii. Peter will try for a clinch pressing his opponent against the cage for ultimate leverage. Then he will go in with viscous sets of combos that can knock out anyone. His only problem is if he can’t get into the clinch, he has been taken down, and submitted before. This means an outstanding ground game may as well beat him. Carlos comes into this fight, with a 5 win streak, 4 of those wins come from submission. Carlos looks for early takedowns and one after another submission attempts. Carlos uses these to tire his opponent and keeping him on his toes at the same time. His favorite submission move is the Kimura, will we see it this fight, u bet we will. In my professional opinion, the favorite is Peter Potter if he can clinch at all or against the cage he can win it. Like I said he is dangerous if you allow him to clinch at all.

The ninth fight is in the Bantamweight division, for the title.  It features Walton “The Tiny Furer” Kunz and Johnie “The Dildo” Kavlitezekis. Walton comes in with a victory in Island combat one versus Issumatar Tariaksuq. Walton will look for the takedown, if he can score one. But if he has to stand, he stays far away looking for precious single shots. Johnie comes in with a 7 win streak which is an impressive win streak. He has amazing Brazilian jiu jitsu. He can also escape, and submit when he is on the ground. When he takes an opponent down, he goes into side control, where he likes to control for his ground game. In my professional opinion Johnie since he has an superior ground presence, but he needs to keep it on the ground.

The main event is a Light Heavyweight title bought. It features Carlos “The Ronin” Newton and Ukko Metso. Carlos comes after an impressive 39 second victory in the first round versus Don Julio Cesar Chavez, with a kumara submission. He is known to be a slippery costumer on the ground and will not give up easy. He will go for an early takedown hopefully landing in his opponents guard. But he has had problems, with being knocked out if the fight is kept off the ground. Ukko come in win a 3 win streak. Ukko also is an fighter on the ground, so there will be no early taps in this fight. Ukko is also dangerous with his ground and pound, if his submissions do not work. In my professional opinion the favorite has to be Ukko since he can win easily if he manages to keep Carlos standing. He will also prove to be a hard customer on the ground as well.
