Main Card
Featherweight Bout: Fenton Hilton (#10/4341)(6-1-0) vs. Shane “The Ranger” Gooseman (#14/3259)(6-3-0)
Two featherweight fighters both coming off of wins here, with the wrestler Hilton facing off against Gooseman and his wonderful Muay Thai. The fight will certainly come down to the clinch…will “The Ranger” manage to TKO his opponent with knees, or will Hilton take Gooseman down to the ground and let loose on the Ground & Pound?
Prediction: Hilton - TKO
Heavyweight Bout: Shamil “Puncher” Aburahimov (#6/3990)(9-5-1) vs. Done Carvalho (#8/2500)(4-2-0)
The more well-rounded Aburahimov faces off against the more rookie fighter Carvalho in this heavyweight bout. Though Abdurahimov has more wins under his belt, and certainly more BJJ capability, he’s coming off of two potentially demoralizing losses, whereas Carvalho is coming off of two big victories in the HFC. Will Aburahimov force the younger fighter to submit and regain his own winning streak, or will Carvalho force another loss on “Puncher?”
Prediction: Carvalho - TKO
Heavyweight Bout: Larry “Bullion” Mayflower (#5/2744)(10-5-0) vs. Butch Larson (#7/4250)(10-9-0)
The much more experienced Larson faces off of against the younger fighter Mayflower in this bout. In HFC 42, Larson was soundly submitted by Mayflower via Rear Naked Choke. Now it’s time to see whether “Bullion” can repeat the fight, or whether Larson can use his experience to the advantage and force Mayflower to tap out.
Prediction: Mayflower – Submission
Co-Main Event
Welterweight Bout: Dobber Snodgrass (#3/913)(7-2-0) vs. Emre Hussain (#6/2353)(7-1-0)
The 26 year old Snodgrass faces off against the 19 year prodigy Hussain in this fight. Snograss has never won a fight through any method but a (T)KO, preferring to use his devastating boxing talents to deliver blows to his opponent’s head and send them tumbling down to the ground.
Hussain, likewise, has won 6 out his 7 wins by (T)KO, delivering explosive mixes of punches and kicks into the opponent, leaving them breathless on the arena floor after the onslaught. He is also a more well-rounded grappler than Snograss, so it’s likely that the fight might be taken to the ground where his opponent has no chance.
Snodgrass is managed by Redskin Wigglebottom. Hussain is sponsored by Bullet Proof System and managed by Mester Elbaek.
Prediction: Hussain - TKO
Main Event
Featherweight Bout: Marcel “Bloodletter” Capuchin (#3/2343)(9-2-0) vs. Balbus “The Bully” Michael (#5/1092)(6-3-0)
Two of the top ranking featherweights in the HFC outside of Rollo Gracie and Kotetsu Yamamoto face off tonight in the Hard Knocks Arena, looking for a challenge before possibly receiving a title bout. Two experienced and skilled fighters, this bout will keep all MMA fans on the edge of their seats.
Capuchin is skilled at keeping his opponents at bay, and then bringing them into the clinch, where he brutalizes them with punches and elbows before the referee is forced to stop the fight, as seen in VCL Fight Night 13 against Luis Antonio Carlo Aldo.
Michael is the former featherweight champion of MMA Helsinski, having seized the title from the hands of Because I Can after a solid four rounds of fighting. His frequent head punches and leg kicks kept I Can on the defensive, ending the fight with a barrage of knees. However, while he seems to excel in the clinch, he never seems to instigate it.
We can expect a slugfest between two striking experts tonight, and two experienced grapplers as well. Will Capuchin put Michael down in the clinch, or will Michael surprise him with a sudden flurry of blows and turn the tide? Tune into HFC 47: Capuchin vs. Michael to see how it goes down!
Prediction: Capuchin - TKO
