LKO 11 Anaconda preview by Victorio Faber

Hey yo what's up MMA world here is Victorio! It's been a long, long time since my last write up and now I'm back and delivering the preview of upcoming event of LKO - LKO 11 Anaconda on 23th July 2016 in Hard Knocks - New York. We will have 10 on-title fights and sure they will be great!

HW bout: Red Brophy vs Ancient Konate

This is the first fight of the night and we have two big boys who only have one fight in their career. The red corner Red Brophy is 1-0 and he's under Grant Brophy's management. His main strength is Muaythai but has yet to show it off thoroughly in his lone win because it's only a one round fight. On the other hand, his opponent Ancient Konate is winless in his career so far, despite being able to show off his kicking game and wrestling, his weak boxing gave him a set back. Not easy to pick a winner but I will go with Brophy since he's Grant Brophy's fighter, I am sure he will find a way to get another win.

HW bout: Doctor Slaughter vs John Campion

Another pair of big boys are ready to go. Both men are winless in their career with only one fight so far. They are looking to gain some respect from the fans since they both lost by one punch KO. The red corner Doctor Slaughter is a wrestleboxer but unable to deal with a world class boxer, his opponent John Campion fought against a mediocre boxer but got totally destroyed. I will give the striking advantage for Slaughter since he's a better boxer. On the ground, Campion's BJJ purple belt will help him to win if he could take him down but his loss was pretty embarrassing to a striker who has worse striking than Slaughter so I go with Slaughter by TKO.

BW bout: Cody Garbrandt vs Jordan Evans

How about welcome some small guys after two HW fights? We have two 18 year old BW fighters clashing between a debutant and a winless fighter. The red corner Cody Garbrandt is a boxer who is looking for a win in his debut against 0-2 Jordan Evans who has no real strength. It's pretty clear that Evans has never shown anything rather impressive in his career, and he got destroyed in both fights so his skillsets is the only thing to blame. He doesn't have anything stands out but his foe Garbrandt has pretty decent boxing. Even though Garbrandt is a debutant, I am sure he will finish Evans as he showed his suspect chin in his debut.

LW bout: Alvey Kulina vs Mateusz Biernat

Another pair of 18 year old there and this is a LW matchup. The red corner Alvey Kulina is a Golden Glove boxing champion and runner up in high school wrestling championship and he's 1-0 in his career. His win was impressive as he finished his opponent early in the first round. As a talented fighter, he will look for another quick finish against Mateusz Biernat who is 0-1 and lost his fight by quick submission. I am not sure about his chin but this fighter is average all around so I don't see him doing anything effective against Kulina, who has better boxing and wrestling. I will go with the boxer by TKO.

BW bout: Clinton Hall vs Johnson Livid

This is a very anticipating match in my opinion because my fighter Clinton Hall is fighting. He's a world class boxer with decent wrestling with a 1-1 record. He lost his debut against a way better and experienced fighter and he bounced back in LKO debut and won by UD where he showcased his excellent sprawl and brawl and defensive grappling. His opponent is 1-0 Johnson Livid who is a really decent boxer with BJJ blue belt but he showed off his ground game in his debut and tapped out his opponent. Anyway, I think Hall's skills will be too much for him because not even a BJJ purple belt can tap him out. And Hall has enough wrestling to keep the fight on the feet and boxing to outbox him. I go with my boy wins by late TKO.

LHW bout: Leonidas Lagos vs Dana White

The fight goes back to higher weightclass after a BW fight. Both men had 11 fights combined but they are only 18 and 19 year old respectively. The red corner Leonidas Lagos is 2-0 and he was able to show off his KO power in both wins. He is a quick finisher who aims to finish in first round. On the other hand his opponent Dana White loves to tap his opponents out. He's very experienced as a 19 year old fighter who has a 4-5 record. All of his wins are by submission but he lost his last two fights by superman punch KO. If you asked me who's gonna win, I don't think a pure ground fighter who fell in love with superman punch can win against a boxer who put people to sleep. Lagos will win by another quick KO.

HW bout: Melvin Bones vs Quon Shum

So we are back to HW fight and this one will be interesting. The red corner Melvin Bones is ready to make his MMA debut. His main strength is Muaythai but can't tell you if he's a kicker or a clincher. His opponent Quon Shum will be dangerous for him because he's a world class wrestleboxer who won his lone fight by early first round KO. Since Bones' skill and style is unclear and Shum's advantage of skill and momentum, this debut will be very tough for Bones and I think Shum will knock him out.

HW bout: Ivar Ragnaar vs Darren Regal

Another HW fight folks! This is a fun fight between two young big boys. The red corner Ragnaar is a Muaythai specialist who has very good kicking technique and good escaping skill from ground bottom position. He's able to display his high volume striking style in his last fight but he lacks power to finish it off. His opponent Darren Regal is a better finisher who won his lone fight by first round KO. Despite being a mediocre striker, he was able to land high percentage of punches and stuffed all the takedown attempts. Regal is actually a wrestler who choose to sprawl and maul but Ragnaar has world class kicks to trouble him. If Regal insisted to keep the fight standing, I believe Ragnaar's work rate will give him hell.

Co-main event

Openweight bout: Steven Johnson vs Ay One

For the co-main event we have an openweight bout between 215 lbs Steven Johnson and 200 lbs Ay One. Johnson is 8-8 who has very good boxing and wrestling, also has a BJJ purple belt. He showcased his KO power and submission game but also a suspect chin. I guess his chin is the reason of why he doesn't have an impressive record and released by previous manager. His opponent Ay One is 3-3 and he's a all-rounded fighter but his upside is boxing and KO power. His weakness is also a weak chin who lost by one punch KO twice. I think both men have the power to knock eachother out on the feet but the edge goes to One. Johnson will have the advantage on the ground since he has better wrestling. This fight is a toss up but One's power and quickness will get the job done early, I guess.

MAIN EVENT

Openweight bout: Cu Chulainn vs Justin Hall

The main event is also an openweight match up folks! 190 lbs Cu Chulainn is colliding against 181 pound Justin Hall. This fight will be interesting! Cu Chulainn is 11-7 and lost his LKO debut in an openweight bout but he's an accomplished MW as he's the former USFC MW champion. He's a powerful man with world class boxing and wrestling and his GnP is outstanding. His opponent Justin Hall is a better fighter all around but he's 14-18-1 and has yet to win a title. Anyway his competition is toughter, that's for sure. He spent his last 13 fights in 1 round 10 minutes match and only able to win one. He faced tough cookie after tough cookie and deserves respect. Chulainn is a very good fighter but we all know everytime he faced a better skilled fighter, he fell short. Hall lost a lot recently and he's under a new management but he is all heart. I think Hall will win by decision.

So this is the preview of LKO 11 Anaconda. A lot of good fights in the card with many youngsters fighting and some veterans in it. This event will be great! I am Victorio and thanks for watching!
