FWC 18: Fuller vs. Haapana 2 (865608) Preview

These stacked card has six pulse pounding fights at The Underground-Montreal.

The opening fight is in the Bantamweight division featuring “Southpaw” Tae Larkin and Ryan Wallace. Tae will choose to go into an early clinch position and try to control/end the fight there if necessary. If his opponent cannot defend from the clinch, he can end the fight quickly, as he as shown in his fights. Ryan has shown in his last fight that he can handle an clinch, and then finish the fight. Ryan also uses the clinch as well to finish his opponents.

My Prediction: Winner Ryan Wallace second round by TKO.

The second fight is in the Heavyweight division featuring Gjermus Myrene and Scotty “The Shockwave” Simpson. Gjermus comes in with an clear distinct experience factor over Scotty, which gives an huge edge. Gjermus has the ability to end the fight early in the first round, and has shown it many times. He will either choose to fight from striking distance or go for an takedown early on. Gjermus will most likely throw down from striking distance in this fight. Scotty comes in with one fight that he lost to Tyrone Blacker. Scotty does not look natural to be nice about it when striking. If he is controlled, you can wind him quickly it seems his cardio is lacking.

My Prediction: Gjermus Myrene wins by KO first round

The third fight is in the Lightweight division featuring Ryan Bennet and Jamar “The Snake” Lullard. Ryan comes in with an recent loss at FWC 14 versus Jamar, ending his three fight win streak. In this rematch he hopes to change the result. Ryan was controlled by the use of constant submission attempts, that keep him off his feet. Ryan hopefully worked on som takedown defense and striking. Jamar come sin with some confidence after his last win versus Bennet. If Jamar can control the fight again, he can easily win.

My Prediction: Jamar Lullard wins by decision

The fourth fight is another fight in th Bantamweight division featuring “Irish” Joe Bradly and Jake “Atomic Ant” Robertson. Joe comes in with three fights that he lost. Joe is on an three loss streak which is bad to morale for sure. Joe has not been given much luck, losing two fights to decision, and one to an early submission. His strengths are that he has above average cardio, which can help if this fight goes more than a round. Jake come sinn here with more experince, which helps in any fight. As for his last win, he became Bantamweight champion, which means he knows how to fight. I you allow Jake too control the ground game, he will tap you out.

Prediction: Jake Robertson wins by Submission first round

The co main event is in the heavyweight division featuring Arm “The Red Horse” Ageddon and Itula Maafala. Arm comes in with a lot experience facing great completion with various degrees of success. With only one win, he can show the community an new him. Arm is known for being an slippery customer if he is taken down and has great reversals. Arm prefers to be on the ground, then fighting from the standing position. itula has an great record versus amazing fighters and has won he can finish from the standing position. itula is very comfortable standing and will be looking for another knockout victory here.

My Prediction: Itula Maafala wins by KO second round.

The main event for FWC 18 is in the Bantamweight division featuring the rematch between Hannu Happana and Chris “Beanpole” Fuller. In the first fight between these two Chris came with the win. But Hannu has the ability to thrown an dangerous punch, that can knock someone down early in a fight. Hannu also has been beaten by fighters that has better boxing ability as him. This seems to be his biggest weakness. Chris also will look for this fight to be from the standing position. He has also shown to be slippery if this fight for some reason goes to the ground.

My Prediction: Unknown

Make sure to attend FWC 18 in The Underground on July 30 in Montreal!
