Jay's Tycoon Tips

Editorial by Jay Lawrence

The subject of this article is Private Jets -

You need to plan as far ahead as you can for your fight.  If you have paid much attention to the previous Tycoon Tips you will see there is a lot of preparation that needs to go into every fight.  Most importantly, you need to be there!

Prior to purchasing my own private jet I used to constantly use the jets of others.  The thing is, there are many people with private jets who setup flights for their fighter but leave multiple vacant seats on their jets.  Fill those seats up people!  There is no reason why you should be using the map > visit option as there are constantly flights going everywhere with open seats.  This is how you do it -

Go to Private Jets > Click on Source (the city your fighter is currently in) and choose your city > click on destination (Where the fight is being held) and choose your city > select the date of the fight, choose visit, and hit search.  If you find a flight for that date make sure the flight arrives before 6pm local time (all fights are held at 6pm local time). If you do not find a flight for that date, choose a day prior or even two days prior.

But why choose a private over just the map?  When booking with a private jet your fighter can actually GAIN morale and energy, as well as a chance to win an IQ test or 170 supplements (I haven't won these items, but I am told it is a possibility).  If you choose to wait and get auto booked you will be starting your fight down a lot of energy and if you choose the map option you will also lose energy.  Don't lose the fight before it starts, book with a private jet!

Most owners of orgs will have their own private jet.  Most of those owners will also allow you to fly on their private jet for a small fee, or sometimes even free.  All you need to do is ask.  Or, if you are in an alliance, check with other members of your alliance and you will likely find someone willing to help you.  What they will need to know in your message is your fighter ID, where your fight is currently located at, where the fight is located at, and the date of the fight.  Once you give them that they should have enough to send you a ride.  DO NOT WAIT TO ACCEPT A FLIGHT.  Nothing will upset your pilot more than if you wait to accept your invitation.

Private jets are not a money maker.  They cost quite a bit to fly around and don't be alarmed if you're asked to help foot the bill.  However, no private flight should be costing you more than a public flight and if that is the case you should be trying a different airline!

Own your own plane, but don't know what to do with it?  You will have to do a little math, but if you do it right you can setup your flights so the fighter(s) arrive 1 hour before the fight and depart 1 hour after in order to maximize training time.  Sometimes I'll even do layovers.  For example in my org I have fighters all over the world and with an upcoming fight in London I'll be flying 3 from Vegas to New York, then picking up 2 more in New York and flying all 5 to London in my little 5 seater puddle jumper.  It will be reverse order on the way back.  Additionally, if you are an org owner, take the initiative and send the flights out to fighters (especially the new managers) who need flights.  This is a social game, don't be afraid to lend a hand every now and then!

As always, please PM me with any questions or suggestions for the next article.
