DUEL#16 Silver vs Balkon --- RESULTS AND OVERVIEW

Editorial by Albert Kaufman

Yea its Sunday; the day of the week that we use to praise our faith, unwind, relax, kick back and retreat our stress that has hindered the week past. NOT TODAY FIGHT FANS!
This is it! DUEL#16 Silver vs Balkon Live from New York Liberty Dome has finally come to an end. What a war it has been and fans have been on the edge of their seats. This event came with all the bells and whistles, by bells and whistles I really mean Knockouts, submissions and even decisions. These battle ready monsters really left it all in the cage. So lets go over the fights.
    AL Lickertwat versus Jean Labosky
This fight was a little more predictable then the rest of the card, since Labosky comes into the fight with a heartbreaking 1-10-0 Professional Record. This did not break his confidence in the beggining of the bout as he shouted "ole" while dodging a sloppy single-leg. It wasn't long until Lickertwat found himself stuck in Labosky's deadly clinch but the struggle was short lived after a solid short shot landed from Lickertwat. After this the game changed drastically in favor of AL Lickertwat, who managed to secured a TKO victory 4:25 of the first round
    Grado Itsyersel versus Scott Spade
From what looked on paper like one of the biggest mismatches on the card turned out to be one of the biggest upsets. Scott Spade had a record of 51-31-2 when he entered the cage and a badboy reputation that towered over all opponents, on the other side Grado Itsyersel was coming fresh off of a two loss streak with a record of 6-6-1. Everyone expected a landslide victory, falling closer to a felonous murder charge, in favor of experienced fan favorte "Deadly" Scott Spade. The first round held great action worthy of all forms of praise, but there was a fire in Grado's eyes. More of a fire. Maybe coming off of two consequtive losses sparked an animal inside that is hungrier then a Debuting pro fighter. Into the second round, while Spade tired from battle, Itsyersel stayed sharp and ready to engage. With superior striking he was able to drop Spade, as well as the jaws from the fans, and finish him with a flury. Second Round TKO victory for the underdog.
The Stig versus David McFadden (Part 2)
Finally there has been a winner to this ongoing fued between two of the toughest Middleweights in the division. Since their Draw when they first met at DUEL#12 Blaine vs Williams their has been plenty of controversy surrounding the two fighters. This was it, the moment for a final decision as to who can beat up who. After a severely hard-fought, back-and-forth battle the victory by way of Submission in Round 3 crowning The Stig as the toughest of the two. But maybe we need another fight to really decide that.
Lets jump a few and get to the meat and potatoes here.

Jaan Jalgrates defeated Macadam in a Unanimous Decision pushing his record to 9-10-0

I Know Wrestling barely beat out Stu Bennett in a tight Split Decision

Simon Vale brought a one-sided fight to his opponent Maximillian Xezeron snatching the victory in the 1 Round by TKO

Eazy Ee struck out dangerous Boxing protoge "Sor" Duncan The Tall in the very first round leaving the fans stunned and wanting more.

Akira Hendrix crushed Peter Parker like a little spider in the 3 round with a bombing set of strikes allowing him to cliam the TKO victory

Eli Armis takes the win by Unanimous Decision over Sigurd Ragnarsson

Now lets jump into what everyone wants to know, did Billy "The Kid" Silver maintain a firm grasp of his 185LB Title over the illusive striker Marian Balkon. Well ladies and gentlemen all I can ask is this; does a bear pee in the woods? Of course Good 'Ol Billy Siver would enter the cage and dominate an opponent as unpredictably dangerous as Marian Balkon. In my position as a Journalist, as well as a huge Billy Silver fan, I still find it hard to conjure the words that can properly detail the events of the bout. Not because I lack the descriptive or creative capabilities to do so, but because the fight only lasted 24 seconds in the first round. The biggest kicker of all; Balkon did not even have a chance to fire a single punch!
Silver confidently walked towards his opponent and pushed a face pace series of marksman like strikes that landed effectively. By the time Baulkon had the opportunity to step out of Silvers' reach, their was an impressive in-and-out Boxing strategy that solidified the victory with a tough knockout. Siver retains his title and I am sure he will for many defenses to come. Just next time he defends his title, someone remind him not to call for a title shot... an EKG may be in order.
