This Preview has been brought to you by Humanoid Nutrition

Revolution XC comes to you live from the King Theatre in Los Angeles to bring you what could be the biggest one round fight in the history of RXC. Don Julio Cesar Chavez wants big fights, and right now, none are bigger than an encounter with former Middleweight Champion Andy Fitzgerald, who comes into this fight vacating his previous title. Also on the docket will be a Light-Heavyweight Championship encounter between Kaleva Vettenranta and Antonio Silva, A middleweight fight between the debuting Ottis Toole Jr and Tapio Valo, a skirmish between two Jakes, one of the Belcher variety and one of the Tyler variety, and a brawl between former Middleweight Champion Rocco Antonio Saffredi and the White Knight of the #PaSays Army, Marty Robbins.

Undercard

Chester “Hollywood” Jones vs Dan “Diesel” Sergeant

Chester Jones hasn’t had the easiest road to RXC, as he’s had to fight some “unique” faces getting here. These fighters include Eazy Motherfuckin E, Ryan Ho (x2), Come At Me Bro, and Test Bot Number Sixteen. I wasn’t aware that robots were allowed into human MMA. But seriously, Jones has won all of his encounters by first round submission, but Sergeant will be his toughest test. “Diesel” has fought twice under the RXC banner to mixed results. An undisputed loss to Antonio Diaz was followed by a dominant victory over Jordan Gracie. Ultimately, I think Sergeant’s big fight experience wins the day for him.

Sergeant by Unanimous Decision

“Eminem” Slim Shady vs Tyrone “TG” Grant

Like Jones, Slim Shady (The Real Slim Shady?) has a 5-0 record and has fought some interesting individuals. Well, his last two fights weren’t two weird but his first three fights were against a man by the name of Kane Miller, whose record currently sit at 6-49. Grant is the first person that “Eminem” has fought with a winning record, 3-2. His Brown Belt and three submission wins give a clear idea of what Grant’s strategy will be, get to the ground somehow and grab either a limb or the neck. My last prediction for a Grant fight turned out wrong, but I feel comfortable saying that “TG” gets the victory on Friday.

Grant by Submission in Round 2

Jose “Junior” Aldo vs Kaedo Neal

Alright so, Aldo is actually my fighter, A free agent signing. This means that I won’t make a prediction here. I will say that this is an exciting matchup between two young and hungry fighters that won’t disappoint, especially since Neal is coming off a couple of fights where he won Fight and Knockout of the Night.

Dwight “The First Man” Everidge vs Ben “Big Bomber” Jones

Dwight is essentially a stereotypical Heavyweight. Huge power in his hands but barely any ground game. This was especially apparent when he fought Ilmari Kussi. Lucky for him, he fights another Striker in Ben Jones. Jones started his record off with 5 straight wins, but now sees himself on a three fight skid, all by KO. He does, however, possess better wrestling and a Blue Belt. Whether he uses it is another question.

Everidge by Knockout in Round 2

Bruno “Bones” Mitchel vs Malik “Habib” Isac

This fight is sadly obvious. Isac and his team mates tend to come into fights out of shape and lacking any energy. Mitchel is another 5-0 commodity debuting today, and I see him coming out on top.

Mitchel via TKO in Round 1

Rocco Antonio “Italian Stallion” Seffredi vs Marty “Big Iron” Robbins

Ahh this match. I know I sometimes come across as bias when I talk about Robbins, but I love the dude to death. He’s a knockout machine with a personality that make him stand up amongst the bravado and bro attitudes of other fighters. He’s a very calm, personable, and frankly innocent guy. This, however, is going to be the toughest fight of his life. He’s fighting the man known as (by me) RAS, a former Middleweight Champion. He went down a weight class to fight the man in the main event, but was finished within 2 minutes. This fight will be a strikers delight, and it’ll come down to who hits first and who hits hardest. My money’s on Robbins to score the upset.

Robbins via TKO in Round 1

Jake “The Talent” Belcher vs Jake “The Protagonist” Tyler

Tyler has the potential to be more than what he is. He’s got skills everywhere, but the level of talent he’s fought hasn’t done him any favors. He got his RXC career off the ground with a split decision win over Josh Gates, but now he faces  the definitive Welterweight Gatekeeper in RXC, Jake Belcher. Belcher is coming off a win over Joakin Bordado, and he’s looking for his first two fight win streak in a while. This fight will most likely go to the ground, and the finish depends on how on point Belcher’s defense is. Personally, I see this going the distance, with Belcher showing his Talent.

Belcher via Unanimous Decision

Ottis “The Countryman” Toole Jr. vs Tapio Valo

Valo hasn’t had the best career in RXC. He’s fought for a title twice and came up short both times. Toole Jr. is a new signing who is also a potential title challenger, as he comes in at 12-1 and was a champion in LIBERTY COMBAT ORGANIZATION. These two are very close skill wise, but I like Toole’s chances a bit more.

Toole Jr. via TKO in Round 2

Kaleva Vettenranta vs Antonio Silva

Vettenranta had his star tainted by a first round loss at Heavyweight to Dmitri Zaitsev, losing the Heavyweight Championship. However, he remains the Light-Heavyweight Champion, and will defend his championship against Muay Thai specialist Antonio Silva. Silva is coming of a win in his RXC debut, a decision victory over Vincent DeFarina. Silva has big power in his legs, as shown with his KO of the night win over Johnny cage that got him into the org. Unfortunately for him, Vettenranta has been one of the most dominant Light-Heavyweights in MMA, and I don’t see that ending anytime soon.

Vettenranta via Submission in Round 3

Don Julio Cesar Chavez vs Andy Fitzgerald

Chavez has his priorities in life straight. He wants to fight Rick James in a Trilogy to their wild series, he wants to go down a weight class and fight the best down there, and he’s isn’t shy about any of it. However, before any of that, he’s got to get past one of the most dangerous men on the planet, former Middleweight champion Andy Fitzgerald. This is the biggest superfight in RXC history so far, and I don’t think it’s going past the first round. Ever since his loss to James in The Island’s 5th round, Chavez has been untouchable, crushing James in an insane rematch, submitting Peter Potter, knocking out Fernando Luiz with a Superman Punch, and whipping out RAS, all within the first round. Fitzgerald’s road has been slightly tougher. After losing to RAS, in his first RXC fight, he’s finished Carlos Newton and Ukko Metso, made Rocco go the distance to win the Middleweight title, and finished Tapio Valo in his last Middleweight fight. This fight is a toss up, but my gut says that Don Julio Cesar Chavez’s ambition ultimately proves to be his most dangerous weapon, along with his fists.

Chavez via KO in Round 1
