 OMEGA FIGHTING

CAGED RAGE RESULTS   Omega Fighting invaded New York’s Hard Knocks Arena this past Sunday for it’s biggest event to date  CAGED RAGE.  The Event featured 3 championship fights including the lightweight championship main event, where current champ Morrison Lee defended his 155 pound strap from current featherweight kingpin Ahsan Hamed.  

     In the co-main event, also scheduled for five rounds, the vacant welterweight title was on the line in which Number One contender Russell Northrop and  BJJ specialist Patrick Cleary battled to claim the vacant crown. In addition Omega’s heavyweight champ Kimbo Slice and the Mayan Predator Quetzall Montezuma, both of who are heavy hitters stepped into the cage and let it all hang out. Oh and lets not forget there were 7 other great fights scheduled as well as they all battle for the prize of the Omega Cup, so without further delay, see below for the results and highlights of Omega Fighting  Caged Rage.  

Morrison Lee vs. Ahsan Hamed  

It was billed Champ vs. Champ. Morrison Lee the lightweight champion vs. featherweight champion Ashan Hamed for the 155 pound title only, both fighter’s in great shape came to the cage with a mission and here we go  ROUND ONE..  Lee land an overhand right and connects with a  nice shot to the body. Hamed slipping the jab and catches Lee with a cross right on the jaw.  Nice leg kick from Lee land on the calf of Hamed. Strong leg kick stumbles Hamed.  Hamed ducking the jab and lands a solid leg kick. Clinch by Lee and lands an uppercut.

Hamed  quickly breaks the clinch. Lee with some leg kicks. We go to Round 2.  Lee wins round 1. Lee’s Jabs starting to land more stopping Hamed in his tracks. Hamed land a great leg kick Lee catches Hamed with a cross pushing him into a clinch. Lee starting to control the stand up battle, Lee takes round 2.  

Round’s 3 and 4 go to Lee lets jump to the final round  Round 5 both trade a few shots lee looking for the takedown all night finally gets it Hamed controlling well though Back to the feet we go  Hamed slipping shots  Lands a good kick to the body. Lee missing Hamed starting to counter with some good shots of his own could be to little to late as the fight come to an end and goes to the Judges.  49:46 unanimous decision Morrison Lee Retains his title..  

Russell Northrop vs. Patrick Cleary

    For the vacant welterweight title and after months of getting the contract signed  the Number one contender Russell Northrop finally got his chance to prove to the world that his time is now but  that road had to go threw Patrick Cleary. Round 1..

 Starting out slow both fighters feel each other out couple of lazy jabs missed body shot  Round one half over Northrop stuns Cleary with a clean right hook that brings him down to a knee. Takedown by Northrop and there it stayed until the end of round 1.. 10:9 Northro Round 2 goes to the canvas as Cleary takes Northrop down sub attempt reversal sub tempt Cleary controlling the ground game Northrop defending Cleary out class the Bully in Round 2 10:9 Cleary

Round 3 Northrop stunning Cleary with stiff body shots. Late round takedown Cleary looking for the sub and Northrop holding on tight Slight edge to Northrop in that round. Round 4   jab jab the pace has slowed fighters circle each other Northrop gets the takedown . Northrop rides it until the end of the round.  Round 5 Jab Cleary  Jab Northrop. Sloppy left hand and Cleary catches Him with a cracking kick to the body. Northrop to the head with a hook seconds left of the fight Northrop gets rocked by a great combo and theirs the bell…. Judges   

Russell Northrop Def. Patrick Cleary Decision (Unanimous)  

  Kimbo Slice vs. Quetzal Montezuma  

Heavyweight title fight and the only Heavyweight fight on the card saw 2 of the best and world class strikers go at it this is not going the 5 rounds I can tell you that.  Round 1 started off with a low kick from Montezuma to  Kimbo Slices Beaver Basher Oooooo you can just feel that one,  slice recovered so here we go touch gloves.

Bombs away from both  but both missing.  Slice gets his feet tangled and the big mayan scores with an uppercut. Big leg kick scores and Slice drops to the canvas back up quick though. Slice gets in the clinch, headshots from Slice working control here. Back to striking range with a few more misses end Round 1..Round 2 Slice gets the better of the 2  in stand up couple of chopping leg kicks from slice BOOM Slice cores with and uppercut from nowhere The Big Mayan is groggy Slice all over him, at 2:06 of round 2 winner by TKO

Ja Wuan Robinson vs. Sergey Beznisko  

In an Undercard bout.. Ja Wuan Robinson made his  Omega debut and made a case for himself  to be put in the hunt for the light heavyweight title hunt with a unanimous but very hard fought fight decision against  Sergey Beznisko Ja Wuan Robinson def. Sergey Beznisko Decision (Unanimous)  

 145 lb Natural Born Killer def. Johnny Vegas in round 2 at 2:42  via TKO

assan Dehu def. Carlos Kruschewsky in a 3 round Decision (Unanimous)   170lb Ole Svensson def Klay Montez  in a 3 round Decision (Unanimous)

205lb Oswald Cobblepot def Richard Evans with a first round TKO   

205Lb Francisco Escobar def. Jack Major  Submission (Kimura)  at 4:14 of round 2  

185lb Viktor Soshnyanin def  Martin Glass  in 2:30 of the first round knockout
