HFC 110: Northrop vs Kid

Event Preview: HFC 110: Northrop vs Kid
Hardcore Fighting Championship
2017-07-29, St Petersburg, Ice Box
Author:Aleksey Markov

HFC 110 brings you three title fights from the sacred soil of Mother Russia's fighting capitol, St. Petersburg. And if the line-up is any indication, it will be a night full of exciting fights, crushing knockouts and just all-around mayhem. Let's take a look at the complete main card in all it's glory!

Orpheus "Big Guy" Boagrius (19-4; 2-0 in HFC) vs "El Padrino" Estafan Atunes (8-6; HFC debut)

For the HFC Super Heavyweight Championship of the World

The main card starts with one very frightening specimen of a man. Enter Orpheus Boagrius. A massive, violent man, who amassed a 19-4 record. A strong winning record, especially at 265+, where defeats are dealt frequently by massive hands. Speaking of which: Boagrius has a 100% knockout rate to his name. The majority of which coming in round number one. Across the cage will be Estefan Atunes, a Super Heavyweight journeyman with plenty of reason to shit his pants. Should he win this one, this fight would become a mainstay on many “greatest upset ever” lists to come.      Chris "The Belgian Beast" Bellum (12-5; 8-3 in HFC) vs Starling Silva (12-5; 7-4 in HFC)

For the HFC Middleweight Championship of the World

The next fight will be for the vacant 185 HFC Championship of the World. It was vacated after it became obvious, that up until now champion Aedan Declan was too busy loitering around, taking drugs and hanging around in strip clubs with his recently lazy manager, Sean McDonnel. What a waste of talent ……. damn shame. And what good news it is for the two men, who will now fight for the title. Chris Bellum fought for the 205 strap twice, but was put away both times by the HFC's 205 kingpin Devon Bailey. Now he jumped down a weight class to maybe snatch the Middleweight belt right away. Looking to spoil his arrival is Starling Silva, a man who already went the distance in five rounds with former Champ Aedan Declan and has bounced back with a three fight winning streak since then. This time he wants to grab the gold. This is a fight between two men, who have been denied gold in the past. Expect things to become intense really fast!

Oshan "Red" Jackson (13-4; HFC debut) vs Azumah Nelson (12-6-1; HFC debut)

Bantamweight bout

This Bantamweight bout will see two very interesting additions to HFC's Bantamweight division collide. Oshan Jackson was the Underground's first ever Bantamweight Champion of the World and has become an astute Bantamweight fighter. Notoriously tough, he threatens with his striking on the feet as well as on the ground. His opponent, Azumah Nelson, once was a champion in primal but had only mixed success ever since. However, he is every bit as tough as Oshan Jackson is. So this one could quickly escalate into an all-out slugfest.

Petro "Roshen" Poroshenko (17-5; HFC debut) vs Zdravko "Hrvata Sokol" Saric (7-4; 4-2 in HFC)

Heavyweight bout

The co-main event will see Zdravko "Hrvata Sokol" Saric return to work early. A versatile, tough striker, Saric just got dealt his first KO loss at the hands of Barney Rumble. Looking to add to his own 100% knockout ratio, he was hellbent to bounce back as fast as possible. His opponent will be HFC debuting Petro "Roshen" Poroshenko, a Ukrainian mauler, who has been knocking out opponents left and right over the course of his career. A career, which saw him become a two time PFC Heavyweight champion. And he would love nothing more then to go down the same path in HFC. But he will have to go through Saric, first.

Russell "Bully" Northrop (12-2; 4-1 in HFC) vs Bill "Bonney" The Kid (21-10; 1-0 in HFC)

For the HFC Welterweight Championship of the World

The main event of the evening also sees a guy, who is eager to return to action, given that he just fought on the same card then the aforementioned Saric. Bill The Kid, after defeating Michael Jackson in his HFC debut, is now hellbent to become the HFC welterweight champion. He had his wish granted and is now fighting Russell Northrop, who is holding this title for the second time in HFC. Bill The Kid will be in for an uphill battle in this one. He may be a very good striker but the champion is also a fairly decent puncher and has by far the better ground game. And taking The Kid down is something, that was proven to be perfectly doable time and time again in the past. So unless he hasn't beefed up his game in that respect, the champion will provide a massive threat on the ground.
