Gleb Seeking Revenge

Fighter profile of Gleb Horowitz by Clubber Ganes

"Unbelievable! What a horrible stoppage! I'm calling the refs out on this one! The guy was practically dead in the first round and I can't get a stoppage?!"

Clearly Gleb Horowitz is unhappy with the outcome with his professional debut. To be fair, Gleb was clearly on the winning side of Round 1, and he could make a strong case for a stoppage. The ref could have stepped in without question as Joel Vaquez was in all kinds of trouble and really offered little resistance to Horowitz's superior striking, but this is a game of adjustments. Unless Gleb can play the game, nothing is going to change and he's going to have a short career.

After he had time to clear his head Gleb was a little more reasonable. "I tip my hat to Joel. He implemented a counter-strategy and caught me in a situation I should never have allowed. I'm more upset with myself than anyone and now I have something I'm going to work on. Watch out, Joel. You are in my future and I'm in yours. My loss will not go unavenged."

Horowitz went on to try to make nice with the referee community, "I would also like to apologize for my hasty criticism of the ref. After watching the tape, I can see the justification. He's in there to keep us safe. I feel I was still in control, but I appreciate what he was in there to do. I called him yesterday and I think we're ok. He's a great guy and I personally really like him."

What does the future hold for Gleb? He's got a long way to go, but if he can keep his head and stay off the bottom in the GNP game, he may have some success.
