Fighter profile of by Cue Dini145lbs #1 Budokai Lightweight challenger AB Positive has controversially called into question the integrity of the fight organisation. The MT specialist told us that his manager had contacted famous org owner Rei to discuss his decision not to award his fighters title-eliminator fight “Fight of the Night”, with the thrilling rematch clearly being enjoyed more than the obscure fight that won the award. The team haven’t had any explanation. This comes just weeks after Positive was told that his eliminator with Taylor Jack would be a headlining event whilst then-champion Carwyn Cain awaited the winner from the sidelines. That started the rift when Budokai signed up contender Har Ambe, immediately giving him a title shot in his first fight and replacing Positive v Jack 2 as the headline. Positive accepted that situation but it’s the award which has irked him the most. He tells us “We’ve never felt loved at Budokai, there’s some weird politics going on and decisions being made, still, at least I finally got another title shot, but win, lose or draw we won’t be signing any more contracts with them.” Positive who is planning for early retirement at just 27 is fighting for the title in his last fight with Budokai, however he said his team had informed them “out of respect” that they would be willing to fight on in the event that Positive becomes champion “that deal is off the table now” explained Positive, who says he is now looking forward to his retirement more than ever.
