HFC 2 - Get Belted

Event Preview

Main Event:  Tashiro Sugawara vs Toson Yada (205)

Undefeated, undisputed, Light Heavyweight champion of the HFC, Sugar (2-0) will be looking to add his third consecutive victory to his record as he faces off against #1 contender Toson Yada (2-0).
Sugar comes into this fight fresh off of winning his championship belt against Ho Lee Fuuk.  Both of his victories have been via submission, and he'll be looking to show the world that he's the real deal, and his championship is no fluke.  A brown belt in BJJ, Sugar is one of the HFC's premier submission specialist and has no plans on changing that anytime soon.

His opponenet, Toson Yada (2-0) will have something to say about that.  Another brown belt in BJJ, and also undefeated, he will be looking to show that a ghost can put on the hurt and tap you out just as fast as sugar can.. bad pun, I know..  Yada vs Sugar should be a great BJJ match.  I can't see this fight standing very long, and I don't know if it matters who has better positioning on the ground.  These two are going to be going at it like a chess match, trying to set up the other to make a mistake so they can capitalize and put on the pain!

Looking forward to a great match here, and proving who the best fighter is in this division.  Who's going to win?  Will somebody tap first, or will an arm snap?  Will somebody go to sleep?  I'll be watching, as will the rest of the HFC!

Co-Main Event: Lug Luger vs Gorg Tromaras (265+)

Our co-main event features two super heavyweight fighters ready to rumble to the finish!  "Homeless" Lug Luger (2-1) squares off against Gorg "Tromos" Tromaras (1-0).

This fight is a championship fight that will crown the first ever HFC Super Heavyweight champion of the HFC.  This division has been deemed to close down in the future, so this fight may determine a future HFC Hall of Famer as the first and only HFC Super Heavyweight champion in the HFC.  (These fighters will all be given the chance to move to the Heavyweight division.  Title holder will face 265 title holder to determine championship)

Tromaras is a balanced fighter with a little more background in wrestling than any other discipline.  His only HFC fight ended in a decision, which he won, against Chris Benson.  Tromaras displayed some nice work on the ground getting into position to do some damage.  He just never did enough damage to put his opponent away.  The judges saw the dominance, and awarded him the fight.  This time, he will be looking to finish!

His opponent, "Homeless" Luger, is 1-1 in the HFC with a HARDCORE style victory over his last opponent Ove.  I love it when a fighter sees blood and goes feral!  The man opened up a cut, then beat that cut until the doctors called the fight to collect the blood for the local blood bank.  No point in letting it all go to waste!  A strong wrestler with a mean streak about him, Homeless will be looking for more of the same and score that TKO victory that will give him that belt.. and finally a chance to get off the streets.

Undercards:

Darsin Buck vs Kelly William (185)

Darsin Buck is a newcomer to the HFC.  This will be his first professional MMA fight, and he's looking to put his wonderful wrestling skills to work.  Not much known about this guy, but I can tell you he'll be looking to take this fight to the ground and put his ground game to the test against the veteran William.
William (2-0) comes into this fight undefeated and planning on keeping it that way.  A superb MT fighter with some wrestling training under his belt will be looking to keep this fight standing for as long as it takes to KO the young Buck!

Will the newby shock the world or will ole buckethead get the KO?  We shall see!!

Orjan Ank vs Hale Stenburg (135)

Ank (2-1) feels he was slighted by not being given the title shot over Hale Stenburg (2-1).  Stenburg went on to lose that fight, one hell of a fight I must add, and now finds himself here facing Ank, who's looking to use him as a stepping stone towards the championship himself.

"Rune" Ank is a well rounded fighter with a little more training in MT from the looks of his fights.  In an impressive submission over Pure Striker in his previous fight, he will be looking to show the HFC why Rune, and not Stenburg, should have been given that shot at the title.

Stenburg comes into this fight hungry!  He was in a knock down, drag out war with reigning HFC champion Jack Waller.  Waller emerged the victory, and Stenburg walked away knowing he would be back one day.  Stenburg is back, looking to show "Rune" that HE is not going anywhere, and will not be moving out of the way for Ank's sake, nor any other mans.  You're going to have to move him!

Matt Oduun vs Polo Quincy (170)

Oh, this fight!  I have been waiting for this fight!  This is the rematch we've all been waiting for, as Oduun wants to prove thier first fight ended in a fluke!  Oduun looked to come out swinging, and was committed to KOing Quincy, but Quincy neutralized him by taking the fight to the clinch.  Quincy DOMINATED in the clinch as Oduun had no answer for it.  As a matter of fact, Oduun's only other loss came from a fight that was dominated in the clinch by his opponent.  I'm sure he's been working on that to avoid that happening again.

Quincy, on the other hand, is coming off a tough loss via decision in his last bout.  Will Quincy look to control the clinch again?  Will he change things up a little bit to throw Oduun off?  We will know by the end of this night.  One of these fighters career will be moving up, while the other is liable to hit a tailspin in the wrong direction.

Good luck to both fighters, hope to see a war!

Tyson Fury vs Bergelmir Fredrickson (265)

Fury (2-1) will be facing off against Fredrickson (1-1).   I stopped by to take a look at Fredrickson's training, as I don't know much about the guy, and he looked worn down.  I don't know if he's pushing himself too much, or there's something else going on in his life, but the man needs a nap, or a vacation, or both!  He's a balanced fighter, and you're never quite sure what you're going to get from him.  But if he doesn't get some rest, I can tell you what you're NOT going to get from him... a win.

Fury, on the other hand, was displaying so great hands and strong wrestling.  Kind of looked like a half trained Chuck Lidell in progress.  Coming off a win in his first HFC bout against Alex Brown, Fury will be looking to actually get his first finish of his career against Fredrickson.  Having won or lost all three of his matches by decision, you would think Fury would be the one who's tired.

Toni Montana vs Sidnei Brandao (170)

Toni Montana (3-0) is a newcomer to the HFC.  After a flawless amature career, he's decided to throw his hat into the cage with the big boys.  His first opponent, Sidnei Brandao (0-1).  Brandao lost his only amature fight, but needed the money and decided to jump up and face better competition, even though he might not yet be ready.  The kids got heart, that's for sure.  Brandao is a very good MT fighter, so he always has that chance to flash a KO.   With Montana being a wrestler, you can imaging Brandao will be looking to stay standing and get that KO over the undefeated Montana.

Mason Bradford vs Pure Striker (135)

Bradford "Zuckles" (0-1) was tapped out in his only amature fight in the QFC.  Mason is a solid boxer with a balance of MT and BJJ to compliment it.  Not much else is known about him as he's only had one fight, and a good submission artist can tap out anyone given the right opportunity.

His opponent, Pure Striker (0-1) is also coming off a submission loss in his first HFC bout.  Now, he has an opponent he can stand with and throw down with.  I'm hoping to see a First Blood nomination from this fight as I expect one of these two young guys to be KO'd by the end of this bout.

Geir Ove vs Booker Cash (265+)

"GO" (0-2) is struggling.  He's lost his only two fights of his career, and facing a very important third fight against an unknown opponent.  GO is a great boxer, when he can keep the fight standing.  The problem is, he hasn't been able to keep the fight standing, or if he does, he bleeds like a stuck pig.

Cash (0-0) is a newcomer to the HFC and this will be his first ever official MMA fight.  He's a wrestler so look for him to go to the ground as GO doesn't have great takedown defense.  Unless he's trained, of course.

Will this be a career saving fight for Geir Ove, or will the newcomer show Geir it's time for him to "GO".

Animal Baldwin vs Gumby Lane (265)

Baldwin (1-2) is a well rounded fighter coming off a painful loss to Rand Madness in his last fight.  Madness later went on to challange the champion while Baldwin is still waiting for his chance at redemption.  This redemption comes in the form of fighter Gumby Lane (0-1) who is a strong MT fighter with some decent wrestling moves as well.   Gumby was KO'd in his only amature bout, but will be looking to turn the tables against Baldwin and show he belongs.
