 Hello Ladies and Gentlemen my name is Tony Soprano and I have been asked by my colleague and owner of Hardcore Fighting Championship J.W. Hardman to bring a preview to the fans for this big event! HFC 5 is being brought to you by our partners at Arcticus University: London live from the The UnderGround in chilly snowy Montreal Quebec Canada. Tonights card is stacked and includes 2 undefeated Champions defending their gold and is headlined by a fight for the HFC 170 pound Championship between undefeated Champion Samuel "Minuano" Rodrigues (7-0) and challenger Gunner "Gunni" Larsson (10-3). Let's waste no time and get right into the action!
The first fight of the main card is being contested in the 185 pound division:
Sveti "Chuditvorec" IvanRilski (5-2) vs "Rancid" Reno Rocca (7-2)
IvanRilski is coming from the recently merged SMASH organization and was the 185 pound Champion for a couple months. He has lost 2 of his last 3 fights including losing the Championship in that time frame. He is muai thai/wrestler and holds a white belt in BJJ. He lost his last fight by way of first round T/KO so he will be looking to avenge that loss while also making a name for himself in his new promotion. Rocca was an island fighter that made his way to the mainland after the season ended in the Island. He was 6-2 while holding a 5 fight win streak and was the 185 pound Champion briefly. He is skilled in every aspect of MMA and holds a purple belt in BJJ. He lost his last fight by a tough decision before making the trip to the mainland to continue his MMA career. He was able to land a contract with HFC and will look to make his way back to the Championship picture! We have a fight between two former champions who are looking to get things started on the right foot with their new promotions so this should be a good one to start the main card!
185 pound division:
Dixon "Mad Dawg" Ulster (7-3) vs Joseph "The Mauler" Jantan (12-4)
Dixon is another fighter that successfully made the move from the Island to the mainland after the Island season ended. He went 4-2 while holding the 185 pound Championship for about a month and was not able to make a successful defense of the Championship. He is a boxer/wrestler and holds a purple belt in BJJ. He lost his last fight by way of T/KO (punches) in the 3rd round. With 3 out of his 7 wins coming by way of T/KO he will surely be looking for another T/KO victory! Just like his opponent Jantan is coming over from the Island after going 5-2 and briefly holding the 185 pound Championship as well. He is a boxer/wrestler and holds a purple belt in BJJ. He lost his last fight by first round submission after getting caught in a rear naked choke. With 11 of his 12 wins coming by way of T/KO both men will be looking to get a fast and brutal KO but it could easily find its way to the ground. This will be a great fight!

135 pound Championship:
Undefeated Champion Cody "No Love" Garbrandt (11-0) vs Chad Repine (5-2)
This Co Main event should be full of fireworks! Let's start with the challenger. Repine comes from the Island and put together a 5 fight win streak that included 5 T/KO's before getting caught in a quick and unlucky Kimura that ended his night quickly in his last fight. He is skilled in every aspect of MMA and holds a white belt in BJJ. With all 5 wins coming by way of T/KO he will look to keep this off the ground and capture his first win and his first Championship in the HFC! Garbrandt is an impressive 11-0 coming from the recently merged SMASH organization where he went 7-0 and successfully defended the Championship 5 times after winning it in December of 2019. He will look to defend his gold for the 6th time and the first time under the new organization! He is a boxer/wrestler and holds a blue belt in BJJ. Between these two fighter we have 13 total T/KO victories so fans are in for a treat that very well could be the KO of the night!
MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!
170 pound Championship:
Undefeated Champion Samuel "Minuano" Rodrigues (7-0) vs Gunner "Gunni" Larsson (10-3)
The second Championship bout of the night is going to be just as good as the first. Larsson has won 8 of his last 10 fights losing his last fight by way of arm-bar submission in the second round. Before that he was able to put together a 4 fight win streak that included 3 wins by T/KO so he has some power in those hands. He is a wrestler and holds a purple belt in BJJ. With half of his wins by T/KO he will look to work the fight to the ground and unleash his hands after tiring out his opponent. Speaking of his opponent Rodrigues is an impressive 7-0 with 5 of those wins coming from the SMASH organization and winning the 170 pound Championship in his last fight by way of first round triangle submission in under a minute against Johnny Lewis! WOW! He is also a wrestler and holds a brown belt in BJJ. With 6 of his 7 wins coming by way of submission this fight is sure to go to the ground between two great wrestlers. What happens after the fight goes to ground is a complete toss up and will surely be a great chess battle that MMA and BJJ fans won't want to miss! Who will raise the gold after tonight?
