MAD 40 "Guns Out"

with host Douche McBaggins

Hello again my Madness friends, and what a night of fights it was. MAD 40 "Guns Out" was a remarkable event and backed up every bit of it's hype with some Incredible fights. The Boss insisted that the Performance bonuses will be quadruple the normal earnings as he saluted each and every fighter on the event lineup. There where five Titles on the line, which was the Main Card. We also want to touch on two of the Feature Prelim bouts that where also very important to the Standings at Light Heavyweight. We can start with the Early Prelim results.

Early Prelim Results

Feature Prelims

Light Heavyweight bout

Jaycen"The Axe" Solo(6-4-0) vs Paul"Agent" Smecker(4-2-0)

The first Feature fight of the Prelims is between two newcomers here at Madness MMA and from the looks of Solo as he walked to the cage i surely felt his plan was to Cornobble Smecker at the opening bell. Although Jaycen indeed did not Cornobble him he did immediately take the Former F&BE Light Heavyweight champ down to the mat. From that point it was obvious that "Agent" Smecker had some holes in his ground game as "The Axe" sliced his way to a first round Victory via TKO Strikes at just 52 seconds of round 1.

Jaycen has improved 7-4 and the former SMASH 205 pound Title challenger looks to hunt for a new prize, and who knows maybe the Cornobble(yes that is the third time i said that word) will happen next fight.

Light Heavyweight bout

Dro Qanar(5-2-0)           vs    Luke Davidson(6-3-0)

In are final Feature Prelim we have got a couple Evil Gentleman looking to put there bid in for a future title fight.  Luke was looking pretty good early as the fight went to the clinch, landing some good head shots. Dro seemed to know he was out gunned on the feet and decided to try and get the fight to the ground, and after a few failed attempts he managed to do so. From here it was just clockwork though only a Purple belt in Jiu Jitsu, Qanar managed to submit Davidson late in the first round with a slick armbar.

This makes five submission wins for Qanar now as he awaits his next fight. As for Luke this is his second straight loss as he lost in his Title challenge previously but i don't think we have seen the last of him.

Main Card

Middleweight Championship

Jason Carter(5-1-0)         vs        Chris"Kenshin" Travis(6-2-0)

Now we head into the Madness Championship fights and we start in the Middleweight Division as Newly crowned champion Jason Carter makes his first defense. His opponent was the red hot Chris Travis who was currently on a 5 fight winning streak. "Kenshin" looked great early as he looked to dethrone the champ winning the first round. Carter though no stranger to the championship rounds quickly rallied off the next to rounds on the scorecards. Round four though saw the clinch strikes of Carter starting to takes its toll on Travis and sure enough a uppercut late in round four had Chris thinking about the Ganja man as he was on wobbly legs. Round five begins as Carter punches Chris right in the stomach to begin the round and from there Jason looked in control and ready to finish as he circles and then lands a HUGE straight left hand that ends the challengers night.

Jason Carter retains his Middleweight tile in an exciting fight this is how a Main Card should start. There is nothing final yet for Jason's next defense this gives him some much needed time to celebrate. As for Travis a real warrior this guy is and i hope to see him back at the top again.

Welterweight Championship

Vasil Petrov(6-1-0)            vs       Arse Wreaker(6-0-0)

This next contest is possibly one of the most anticipated title fights on the card as Vasil Petrov makes his long awaited title defense. As he faced off with the clear #1 contender and undefeated Arse Wreaker. Wreaker had one this opportunity by beating Ademaro Dos Anjos last Month. The fight was fireworks from the get go, and there seemed to be a lot of tension between the two fighters as there is a back story to there camps. Wreaker landed a cross very early that opens a cut on the champ. After a few misses from Arse Wreaker, Petrov was looking to counter and he did so with a crisp hook to the side of Wreakers head. Around the 40 minute mark Arse ducks right into a uppercut of Petrov's that send him to a rocked state, and also opens up a cut. From here Arse is in desperation mode as he swings a wild right hand Petrov counters with a vicious Left, that crumbles Mr. Wreaker.

Petrov moves to 7-1 as a pro as he retains his championship in 57 seconds of the very first round. Arse has looked dominant to this point so props to Petrov for derailing the "Arse Train"

Heavyweight Championship

Boris Krylov(5-1-0)           vs         Alex Ferreira(6-0-0)

We now head to the Heavyweight Division as Boris Krylov who recently won the HW title in the finals of a 16 man Tournament looks for his first defense much like the last two champions. His opponent was the Hungry undefeated challenger who debuted in late January at Madness. The fight was a bloody mess with both fighters getting opened up in less then a minute of the start. Krylov's cut though was getting worse every punch that was landed from Ferreira. As we head past the 2 minute work the bloodied Monster Krylov started eating nasty strikes and a combo knockdown Boris. Alex though waived the big guy back to his feet, and it was clear that the Wobbly and Bloody champ didn't have much left to offer. In come the Doctors and the fight is stopped.

Alex Ferreira is the new Heavyweight champion with a TKO Stoppage via Cuts. I think it was a good call personally i love a good massacre but lets see Boris fight another day shall we.

Lightweight Championship

Ryan Rodriguez(5-2-0)    vs    Jewel"The Cuban Missle" Diaz(7-0-0)

In the Co- Main spot we have the Lightweight Title fight as Ryan Rodriguez looks to successfully retain his belt. Standing in his way though is the Former SMASH and F&BE Lightweight champ Jewel Diaz. The Undefeated Diaz clearly wanted to get this fight to the ground and he does score a Takedown with the opening minute. He had a hard time keeping Ryan there though. Rodriguez looked pretty impressive in this fight on the ground as a defensive grappler managing to escape to his feet. On the feet Ryan took control landing 23 of his 41 total strikes and after the first round he was looking very comfortable, unlike his challenger Diaz. Round two starts as Ryan puts the pressure on Jewel but "The Cuban Missle" finds a somewhat safe zone as he starts clinching the champ. Jewel sees an opportunity to take the fight back down to the ground only for Rodriguez to escape right back to his feet which had to frustrate the challenger. Shortly after Ryan stuffs a takedown, he drops Jewel with a picture perfect combo. Ryan wisely waives Diaz back to his feet. Jewel is now covered in blood and looking ready to pass out and desperately tries to clinch and then a failed attempt of a Takedown gets followed by deadly combo after combo that puts Diaz out cold.

Ryan Rodriguez is still the Lightweight Champion as he picks up the KO Victory iate in round two. The challenger Jewel DIaz though has already showed interest in a quick turnaround and we look to get him back in the cage very soon.

Light Heavyweight Championship

Joao Andrade(7-1-0)         vs       Mohammed Kahn(7-1-0)

Alright all you Madness Maniacs the time has come for the Main Event of the Evening. Andrade vs Kahn part deux.  The champion Joao Andrade looks to defend his belt for a second time, against a familiar face in Mohammed. Kahn the former champ who just put a rising prospect Logan Nail in a coma looks to take back his belt.

Round one begins and Andrade comes out as the aggressor while Kahn looks to counter.  halfway point of round one and Andrade strikes first blood as the blood leaks down the Hairy muscular frame of Kahn. The round is closed with a Combination from Joao that drops the former champ but Kahn manages to survive as round one closes. Round two Mohammed looked to be rejuvenated and takes the round on the scorecards as he starts to find his range and land in the clinch as well. The pace begins to slow as we hit round 3 and the cut on Kahns above Kahns eye seems to be getting worse, Andrade though does enough work to take the round and looks to be up 2-1. Round four begins with Kahn swinging and missing and Andrade now playing the Counter game. Mohammed Kahn looked pretty solid in the clinch this round but it was a tough round to judge. Both of the fighters are extremely fatigued to start round 5 and that cut on Kahns eye is fuckin hideous. But we have to give these two athletes a round of applause for there Heart and dedication. That last round had a lot of wild punches that where missing there marks but the round looked to be Kahns.

Result the fight ends in a Majority Draw and Andrade retains his title. The fight got sloppy at the end for sure but there where some great highlights in this one. Not to mention these are two top caliber fighters, Andrade with his Athletic prowess and Kahn with his never give up never surrender hard noised fighting style.

Final words

Owner and Match maker Butch Harris has his hands full after this event.Only time will tell what matches are made after this one. One thing is for sure though the Madness was on point tonight with an excellent evening of fights as they fought inside a jam packed Expo arena in Montreal.  Got give props to Team Fury MMA. Boris Krylov did have a fall from grace but the remaining three champs for manager Jake Fury looked pretty good. Of course Andrade though had his hands full with Kahn, maybe we will see a Andrade vs Kahn part three in a arena near you very soon???
