HFC KO 5 - Slugs vs Wanker

Welcome HARDCORE fans!  Tonight we are recapping a great night of fights that, much to the dismay of the fans, fighters, managers, and yes, even yours truly, were not lined up in the correct order!  We just wrote a new page at HARDCORE, so hardcore we had a title fight as an undercard to surprise the fans!  Yeah, that's it, we wanted to surprise the great HFC fans!   Right.. moving on....   Blaze "Dude, you screwed the pooch!"   Slugs vs Wanker (265+)  SotN     In our (should have been) Main Event of the evening, the reigning Madness Super Heavyweight Champion of the world, Massive Wanker took on HFC defending Super Heavyweight Champion of the world, Doug Slugs.     We knew this one was going to be a brawl, and a brawl it was!  Slugs did a solid job while keeping the fight standing, managing to land some nasty elbows from the clinch drawing blood from Wanker, but it seemed to only piss Wanker off.   I tell you, I sure don't want a Massive Wanker pissed off at me!     As the round went on and Slugs did his best lawnmower elbow strike impressions, Wanker took the fight to the ground and went to work, locking in an armbar to force Slugs into submission.   Wanker wins via Submission (armbar) 3:35 Round 1.   And the new, HFC Super Heavyweight Champion of the world!!!  Massive Wanker!!   Blaze "Man, what a fight!  I tell you, those are some big bad mofo's and they meant business.  Wanker is a beast of a man, and I don't think I've ever seen a man of his size be so fluent on the ground.  He's like a bigger, stronger, quicker Frank Mir.  That man is going to be tough to dethrone"   Silva vs O Donnelly (155)  FotN     In a welterweight matchup we all knew was going to be an exciting fight, Shay O'Donnelly took on Marco Silva in our Fight of the Night!  This fight took nearly the full three rounds and these two fighters let it all out in an all out war.     O'Donnelly stayed at range and was very aggressive landing about 65% of his strikes from distance. He managed to rock Silva towards the end of round 2, but the bell stopped any further progress and the fighters reset for round 3.     Silva did a good job mixing things up standing, but wasn't nearly as efficient or aggressive as O'Donnelly was.  When Silva was able to take the fight to the clinch, he went bat shit crazy and took out his aggression from only being able to successfully clinch once in his 20 attempts.  Unfortunately for Silva, crazy doesn't mean accurate where he managed to land just under 20% of his strikes from the clinch while O'Donnelly was much obliged to just control the action.   However, just over a minute into the final round, (and perhaps Silva hadn't fully recovered from the ending of the previous round) O'Donnelly came out with a nasty combo that dropped Silva.  Looking for the KO, O'Donnelly waved Silva back to his feet where he was able to land a monster right that dropped Silva again.  This time, O'Donnelly followed up and forced the ref to jump in and stop the fight.   O'Donnelly wins via TKO (strikes) 1:24 round 3.   After the fight, Silva had some choice words from O'Donnelly.   In defeat, Marco Silva stepped up to the mic, saying 'I should have never lost to this bum'.   Blaze "Wow, very strong words!  If you call someone a bum who just kicked your ass, what does that make you?"   Semenov vs Babinski (265)     In one of our heavyweight fights this evening, one of our fighters from Madness appeared in his first ever HFC fight against long time HFC fighter Kirill Semenov.     Babinski came into this fight 0-3 in MMA, but do not be fooled by that record as he also holds a 3-0 record in Kickboxing.  But welcome to the HFC Viktor Babinski pulling off the upset win over Kirill Semenov.  Way to announce your presence here in the HFC.   Semenov came out with a plan and went to work.  He was highly aggressive from range keeping the fight standing against the kickboxing Babinski.     Babinski was more selective with his shots and displayed some nice countering and scored a huge KO with a monster uppercut that put Semenov to sleep in the final seconds of the very first round.   Babinski wins via KO (Strikes) 4:56 round 1.   Semenov will bounce back and I'm sure we'll be seeing him looking for revenge down the road.   Blaze "Semonv, I told you that was some badass shit bro.  I told you not to smoke it within 24 hours of the fight.  That's on you bro."   Joestar vs Carrilo (265) KotN     In our other heavyweight fight of the night, we get another award winning performance.  Two strikes throwing down, one man going down.   Joestar was assertive, but not overly aggressive.  He landed nearly 50% of his strikes and mixed in both punches and kicks.  A good well rounded display from range.   Carrilo was a little more selective, also landing about 50% of his strikes, but after Joestar dropped him to start the fight, maybe he was just a little more cautious of being KO'd after feeling the power that is Joestar.   Well, it didn't help much, because before the 4 minute mark of the first round, Carrilo was asleep before he hit the floor.  A wild swing from Carrilo left open a beautiful counter right that put him out cold, earning Joestar KO of the Night honors.   Joestar wins via KO (Punch) 3:49 round 1   Blaze "Easily the best KO of the night, and really the  only pure KO of the night in my eyes.  I mean, when you score a KO within a flurry of strikes on the ground, it's a TKO to me.  Just means the ref was too slow getting there, but hey, he damn sure finished, and that's what we're all about here in the HFC.  Hardcore!"   There were many other fights worthy of being discussed, but due to time constraints we were only able to discuss the Of The Night awards, and fortunately, each of those fights were main card fights in the original plans for this event.   Congratulations to our new HFC Super Heavyweight Champion of the world, Massive Wanker on an excellent performance and well earned championship belt to add to your cabinet.  Already a Madness MMA HoF fighter, we expect some massive things from Mr. Wanker in the future here at HFC.   Harley, as we wrap this up, any words to the fans or comments you would like to get in about the other fights?     Blaze "You f**ked up man!  How could you screw up something so vital?  Man, did you smoke my stash last night too?  I'm telling you guys, y'all can't hang with this shit.  As for the fights, I wouldn't know where to begin.  There were some very great finishes up and down the card, but no quick 30 second KO finishes as we've seen a lot of in the past.  Don't get me wrong, I love a good quick KO, but seeing these guys actually fight for a little while before the finish is kind of nice."   Shut up Harley!  And good night Hardcore fans!
