Red Devil Cartel

Editorial by Chris Karter

 BREAKING NEWS!

MMA FIGHTERS LINKED TO NARCO-TERRORIST NETWORK Red Devil Cartel красный дьявол картель Russian organized crime or the Russian mafia, otherwise known as Bratva ("brotherhood"), is a collective of various organized crime elements originating in the former Soviet Union.   Organized crime in Russia began in the imperial period of the tsars, but it was not until the Soviet era that vory v zakone ("thieves-in-law") emerged as leaders of prison groups in forced labor camps, and their honor code became more defined. With the end of World War II, the death of Joseph Stalin, and the fall of the Soviet Union, more gangs emerged in a flourishing black market, exploiting the unstable governments of the former Republics, and at its highest point, even controlling as much as two-thirds of the Russian economy. Louis Freeh, former director of the FBI, said that the Russian mafia posed the greatest threat to U.S. national security in the mid-1990s.   Although Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia and Uzbekistan have long had criminals and bandits, during the disorder of the Russian Revolution of 1917, armed gangs proliferated until they became a very significant factor which controlled society. The criminal culture with its own slang, culture and laws became known as Vorovskoy Mir or "Criminal/Thieves World".   As the police and court system were re-established in the Soviet Union shortly after the 1917 revolution, the NKVD secret police nearly exterminated the criminal underworld completely. Under Stalin, the forced labor camps (Gulag) overflowed with political prisoners and criminals, and a new organized group of top criminals arose, the vory v zakone, or "thieves in law."   The "thieves in law" formed as a society for ruling the criminal underworld within the prison camps, "who govern the dark gaps in Soviet life beyond the reach of the KGB". They adopted a system of collective responsibility, and swore to a code described as a "complete submission to the laws of criminal life".   In modern times, there are as many as 6,000 different groups, with more than 200 of them having a global reach. Criminals of these various groups are either former prison members, corrupt officials and business leaders, people with ethnic ties, or people from the same region with shared criminal experiences and leaders. In December 2009, Timur Lakhonin, the head of the Russian National Central Bureau of Interpol, stated "Certainly, there is crime involving our former compatriots abroad, but there is no data suggesting that an organized structure of criminal groups comprising former Russians exists abroad", while in August 2010, Alain Bauer, a French criminologist, said that it "is one of the best structured criminal organizations in Europe, with a quasi-military operation."   The Red Devil Cartel, or the RDC, is an organized crime syndicate of narco-terrorist that started its operation in Eastern Europe and has since expanded to the largest of its kind in the region. The faction is widely believed to have originated out of Kazan in Russia, but Kremlin intelligence disputes such evidence, and suggests that the RDC was founded in Georgia, Kosovo, or Macedonia sometime in the early 2000's by the heads of several crime families that formed during their incarceration in Yugoslavia.   As of 2020, the suspected head of the RDC in Europe and surrounding areas is only known as "Babushka" by intelligence agencies, and is rumored to be in refuge somewhere in Balkan territory. Their power structure is consistently under challenge from other organizations impeding on their trade or their pipelines, such as the SLA, ISIL, and other European crime families like the Chechen mafia. This usually results in a bloody turf war that resembles genocide more than your typical gang conflict. The RDC has been described as both ruthless and unforgiving.   Its criminal activities vary from country to country, but often include arms trafficking, drug distribution, theft, extortion, smuggling, gambling, and prostitution. Slow to embrace new technologies, they have only recently begun exploring the possibilities of cyber-crimes such as hacking, electronic theft, and illegal tracking.   The influence of the Red Devil Cartel is felt in over 50 countries across the globe; Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, UAE, Uzbekistan, and in recent years has started to tap into the United States market through Canada and Mexico.
