HFC KO 6 - Camoran vs Motts

Post event review with "Hardcore" Harley Blaze.   "Hardcore" Harley Blaze   Friday night's card was a very good card with some great fights on it.  Seeing HFC long time stand outs like Jack Waller make his HFC final appearance before heading over to headline BFC, and the Don come through with a spectacular KO finish as he called it before the fight, this event was loaded with greatness and headlined by Gregory Motts vs Mankar Camoran.     Gregory Motts def Mankar Camoran (Heavyweight) via TKO (Strikes) 3:46 of round 3.   Blaze "Boy, these two fighters went at it, didn't they?  I said this would potentially be a FotN candidate, and I'm pretty surprised it didn't earn FotN.  But, I can certainly understand J.W.'s decision here.  Motts opened up a cut on Camoran early in the fight and kept working it throughout the first round forcing Camoran to clinch up to finish out the round.     In the second, these guys started off trading blows but Camoran warded off an uppercut and was able to score a takedown where he started working his jujitsu by way of multiple submission attempts, but was never able to advance positions and the the fighters just did some sweaty man hugging the rest of the round.     To start the third, Motts came out aggressive and was able to avoid Camoran's attempts to clinch up.  Approaching the two minute mark, Motts threw a nasty overhand right that put Camoran in la la land.  Camoran managed to clinch up to save himself from sure unconsciousness, when just as he snapped out of his daze, he saw the flash of a brutal uppercut that really opened up that cut and blood started pouring everywhere.  Camoran maned up and held on a bit longer, but after the three minute mark he goes down again, and again is held up by the cage.  But this time, Motts just goes crazy and leaves the ref no choice but to jump in and save the downed fighter before he suffered permanent damage, if he hasn't already.  We are still awaiting reports out of the NY General Hospital as to the extent of his injuries.   Motts was pissed at the ref, thrilled with the win, and seemed to like the blood.  He hyped up the fans after a huge win, and the place was going crazy."   Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregory Motts!     Dixon Ulster vs Gunner Larsson (Welterweight) via Unanimous Decision.   Blaze "This fight was a shock to me.  Not in way of the result, but in how one sided this fight was.  Ulster was just picking away and popping Larsson over and over again, and stuffing a high percentage of Larsson's takedown attempts.     Larsson did manage to the fight to the ground a few times, but he was not able to do much once there landing only a few strikes and a failed submission attempt.     Ulster was swinging for the fences and landing a high percentage of his shots.  It's a bit surprising that Larsson didn't get KO'd, nobody can say that man isn't tough.  Ulster was very controlling on the ground, forcing some ref stand ups and holding out until the end of the round, but in the end, he was able to stay alive when on the ground and score a lot of points while standing.  The judges had an easy time calling this fight."   Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision. Judge Alyssa Summers scores the fight for Dixon Ulster! Judge Bruno Lombardi scores the fight for Dixon Ulster! Judge Steve Montenegro scores the fight for Dixon Ulster! Dixon Ulster wins by unanimous decision!     Bruce Vanorden vs Jean Lucroy (Light Heavyweight) via Unanimous Decision. (FotN)   Blaze "This fight is one that really turned some heads, and I was wrong in my predictions of this one for sure.  Vanorden did a remarkable job and fending off Lucroy's takedowns, and when he did find himself on the mat, warding off Lucroy's effectiveness.   Vandoren displayed great heart, and a warrior spirit in dominating this fight in both my eyes, and that of the judges.  J.W. awarded this fight FotN over our main event because of the way these two went at it all fight long and the impressive display by both men.  Or maybe it was the shock factor that he lost money betting on Lucroy?  Who knows, and no, I don't know if he put money on Lucroy."   Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision. Judge Columbo Gatti scores the fight for Bruce Vanorden! Judge Dean Styles scores the fight for Bruce Vanorden! Judge John Kavanagh scores the fight for Bruce Vanorden! Bruce Vanorden wins by unanimous decision!     Jack Waller vs Florisvaldo De Oliveira (Bantamweight) via Submission (Armbar) 3:59 of round 1.   Blaze "Making his final appearance in the HFC as he transitions to BFC as so many before him have done in these times of change, Jack Waller finds himself stepping up to face the dangerous De Oliveira.   Waller has been one of the best fighters in the HFC Bantamweight division for a long time, and he put everything he had into this fight, but unfortunately it was not enough.     Waller displayed his usual highly accurate and beautifully timed display of striking, both from range and the clinch.  But De Oliveira knew he had to get this fight on the ground to have a chance, and though he was constantly stuffed at a ridiculous rate, he did manage to finally get the fight to the ground where he was amazed to see Waller pop right back up to his feed with the help of the cage.     He managed to get Waller down again later where Waller was able to advance position, but showing great patience, De Oliveira waited for the right moment and then made his move, locking up Waller in a well timed armbar."   Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Florisvaldo De Oliveira!   Undercards   We had some great undercard fights this evening, two of which featuring of the Night awards.     Ed Ford def Miguel Sandoval (Lightweight) via TKO (Strikes) :53 of round 1. Don Piano def Tobias Funke (Heavyweight) via KO (Superman Punch) 1:51 of round 1. (KO otN) Sergey Telegin def Jim Fox (Heavyweight) via Submission (Kimura) 2:49 of round 1. (SotN) Malcolm King def Andrey Gorohov (Welterweight) via Unanimous Decision. Colton Northwood def Crimson Foot (Featherweight) via Unanimous Decision. Primo Volto def Nate Gracie (Welterweight) via Submission :30 of round 2.
