Blitzkrieg NY presents Blitz 131 Unholy Wrath

The Note By BrotherHec

Intro

…That is what I have to say about this fight card. Is it just me or does it seem that the Talent at Blitzkrieg is getting so much better? It seems that everyone is recognizing that if they really want to be the best of the best Blitzkrieg NY is where its at and no doubt for the majority of us fight fans its what we want to watch when we tune into see a PPV fight. This Saturday fighters from Blitzkrieg will be throwing down and Canada will no doubt have some of its best fights it has ever seen at the Bell Centre! Folks do not let me hold you back from the Preview grab your bag of popcorn and your Hells Balls recorvery drink and lets start talking about Blitz 131 UnHoly Wrath!

David Currie vs Mordecai Wollsey

So as we enter the first bout of the main card we get to witness Currie take on Wollsey. The two 155lbs fighters, lightweights, are going head to head on a fight that will keep one on the path to stardom and send the other back to the undercard. David Currie has been on a roll lately with two back to back victories here in Blitzkrieg. With a record of 22-6-1 in his entire MMA career David Currie certainly holds experience in this fight, not by much but definitely enough to help him out a little more in this upcoming fight.  With a majority of his fights coming by decision its safe to say that Wollsey wont have to worry about the striking of Currie as much as he would other opponents but it would be a mistake to expect that this fight will be easy on the feet. He is a “point fighter” and I don’t mean any disrespect by this because this is how he gets the big fights. Currie wins titles over and over and shows people that he is someone to really watch. He is fun and entertaining and every once in a while he scores a stellar knockout that really shocks the world. Since coming to Blitzkrieg he has had a strange record with 4 victories and 2 losses inside the famous cage.  When he first started here Currie fought Angel Concepcion where he earned submission of the night and made the entire division at Blitzkrieg take notice. After his fight with Angel he went on to fight four times going to the judges decision each time. Winning two decisions and losing two the fans at Blitzkrieg started getting confused wondering where was the guy who submitted Angel Concepcion. It wasn’t long after Curries manager spoke to him that he took the long awaited rematch with Montoya that the fight would bring back the Currie everyone wanted to see. In the first round in the first minute Hidalgo Montoya got caught in a Triangle and was forced to submit. David Currie pointed to the cameras and everyone knew, he was back. Thanking his fans like he usually does the crowd began chanting his name and everyone knew who he would fight next: Mordecai Wollsey. Not one to back down from a fight 16-8 the London native quickly said yes when he was offered this fight. Quite new to Blitzkrieg Wollsey fought his first fight winning a decision against Heinrich Himmler and earning him a match against Bob Marley. Marley disposed of Wollsey sending him back down the rankings and showing him that he was not yet ready to play in the big boy leagues. Now Wollsey determined as ever to come back and claim victory has taken on Currie a man who certainly has one of the strongest jaws fighters come against and a will that is virtually unbreakable. It probably wont stop Wollsey from throwing hard and throwing accurate at the face of Currie. Wollsey certainly needs to win this fight to show the Blitzkrieg fans that he wants to be here and with a man that has almost all his wins by knockout he definitely has a great shot at winning. If given the opportunity he will certainly shine and it is no doubt time for him to shine. Wollsey and Currie will no doubt set up for one of the best cards we will get to see form Blitzkrieg. MY PREDICTION: Wollsey! Wollsey has hands of absolute stone. Now I know that Currie is on his two fight win streak but truthfully a man that hits as hard as Wollsey is always dangerous and that might change up Curries plan altogether. I think Wollseys greatest concern is definitely the ground game of Currie, if it goes there it very well could be nighty night.

Sven Larsson vs Henry Lucas

On paper you might think to yourself is this fight close at all? And I say dangerously close. This fight has all that you could ask for in main event but that’s the best part, its not even a main event! Sven Larrson aka The Raider has been on a very impressive role lately. He has been on six straight victories four of those victories have been since he started here at Blitzkrieg. The young Sven Larsson wishes to become the best pound for pound fighter in the world and Henry Lucas is standing in his way. Well, Larrson certainly has himself an opponent in Lucas who no doubt has knocked his last opponent and is currently ranked the #3 contender for the title. A rank that can certainly give him a title  shot against Sam Hall if he wins this fight. Sven is leaning closer and closer to the welterweight title and people have no choice but to wonder will the two go head to head. Lucas one of the best in the division for a very long time looks to get back to the title and take Sam Hall down. Lucas has four fights in Blitzkrieg and they are showing that he can definitely hang but is hanging what he really wants to do? His first fight was for the title against Sam Hall which he was defeated by TKO. His second fight was against Royce Silva who he defeated in five round fight. Following those two fights Peter Tosh defeated Lucas by TKO in the july fourth event. A while later Harry Distacio took on Lucas and was knocked out by a single shot. Lucas has, I believe found his groove and now looks to defeat Larssson by any means necessary. Larsson who has this six fight winstreak has taken four of the six fights to the decision. His first appearance in Blitzkrieg he knocked out Zoe Washburn by TKO then won a split decision against Spotted Cow. After those two fights he won two back to back fight against Hoban and Zoe Washburn the two brother under the manager Bushi Fox had suffered defeat to Sven Larsson. Besides those two brothers there is another interesting thing about Larsson that I want you to notice, he and Lucas have both fought one of the same guys, Royce Silva. Royce has only been knocked out once and that was in his second fight. For the most part Silvas losses are by decision. So when you see that Larsson and Lucas went the distance with this guy you cant say that they don’t hit hard when in reality most guys couldn’t finish him. When you look at the two fights between Larsson and Lucas you see that they really are very similar in so many ways and that this fight will have no choice but to be ended by a knockout. There is one last thing I would like to point out to all of you before we close this preview up and it’s the fact that Larsson and Lucas have never submitted an opponent. So what does this tell you? That neither of the two will take this fight to the ground and that you can really expect it to stay standing. Lucas and Laarson could very well be the fight of the night if and only if the two of them both come out aggressive but I have a feeling that neither will over commit in this fight and that really makes me curious as who the winner is going to be. MY PREDICTION: Sven Larsson. I don’t know if its because I want him to win or I really expect him to win but a guy who is on a five fight winstreak impresses me so I am hoping to see him move up the rankings to challenge Sam Hall one day.

Cedric Myton vs Atilla Leopoldo

Atilla Leopoldo is coming in to take on the gold bearded 21-9 Cedric “congo” Myton. The two unsponsored fighters are looking to bring another victory to their name and their record. Leopoldo is one of the fiercest fighters in the division with 10 knockouts and 12 submission victories in his careers only five of his victories have gone to decision. He does know what its like to experience a knockout and submission loss as well losing 10 fights by knockout and 2 by submission he is a legend in the cage and is looking to make one last run at his former glory before its all over. With a very good roster of people he has beaten Atilla is no doubt the guy that brings down his opponents heavily. There was a time where the former 17th best fighter in the world seemed to be almost unstoppable defeating guys like Tyler Perry and Bubba KillsinWater but now he seems to lose to anyone that puts up a fight. In the last five fights 3 of those fights have been losses. 1 a submission and the other 2 knockouts. Although he knocked out The Dos Equis Guy and Arnold Gutt some are starting to wonder is Atilla on the downside of his career. From fans to sparring partners people everywhere are talking about how they are unsure about the fighters future. Sure he may have a few extra years in front of him, does that mean he should stay at the top of the division and fight guys who are in their prime? I don’t think so. See it comes down to really what is Atilla fighting for. Is he fighting for himself? Is he fighting for money? Is he fighting to save Gotham city? One can only guess as to what the reasons of fighting are for this guy. Maybe he has just had a bad run recently and needs some more push to get back on track. A victory over a guy like Congo would be just the reason to believe that Leopoldo is on top again. Cedric Myton is no doubt a very feared opponent by most who go up against him. With 19 of his 21 victories coming by way of knockout he seems almost perfect for ending the career of Leopoldo. He himself has never submitted an opponent and gone to the judges scorecards a total of four times 2 wins for him and 2 wins for his opponent. Although he has suffered 6 knockouts in his own career a common fight fan knows it is almost crazy to bet against him. The deadpool superhero fan seems to have his own weakness when it comes to fighting and that is cuts. Cuts have been what cost him his fight against Golden Glory, Aloha Hoi, and Emeka Shakur to name a few. Whenever it’s a big named fight that old scar tissue seems to come back and welcome itself to the fight bleeding everywhere until the referee is forced to stop the fight. Leopoldo has an incredible shot to win this fight here and that is no doubt to take his opponent and slice him up! The sooner he can do this the better he is off at winning. Of course he is susceptible to the head kicks but Leopoldo should just keep it basic and work those deadly elbows or punches to get that scar tissue to open up. No doubt all Myton has to work with is that explosive knockout power of his and put Leopoldo to sleep. If Myton can do this there is no doubt in my mind he will quickly rise to be come the top contender for the championship belt. MY PREDICTION: Cedric Myton will knockout Leopoldo unless he gets cut. The second he gets cut Leopoldo will win this fight.

Paco Da Man vs Eli Williams

Paco Da Man vs Eli Williams our co main event of the evening brought to you by tecate! No not really. Its brought to you by me BrotherHec. Ok now lets take a look at this. We have two of the best fighters the 265lbs division going head to head to become recognized in the division. This match is like King Kong vs Godzilla! These guys are huge and to put them against each other is going ot be one insane hellacious bout. Paco Da Man is no doubt a feared striker with twenty one of his twenty four victories coming by way of knockout its safe to say that this guy puts dudes to sleep and with just a few of his fights going the distance you can rest assure that when he steps in the cage someone is getting knocked out. His last fight was back at Blitzkrieg 127 where he fought the infamous Simon Williams current champion of the division. He lost due to a TKO Cut and was forced out of the match. Its always a sad thing to watch when fights end because of a cut or some other kind of a stoppage. Paco Da Man has recovered is ready and is better than ever. The other week I was able to skype his trainers and get a word from them. This is what Paco Da Mans trainers had to say about the upcoming fight with Eli Williams,”Eli is going to be in a lot of ouble come fightnight. We don’t care who he is and we want to move up the rankings and be the best there ever was and there ever will be. The first thing we have to do is recognize his weaknesses and capatlize on them. After we do that we will be climbing the ranks and everyone will have to take notice of Paco Da Man!” This is no doube a huge fight for Paco. He has three wins and two losses in the cage and although his losses are to tough opponents like Bubba KillsInWater and Simon Williams he is still no doubt a factor and to win a match you have to compete on every level. If he loses its usually because the other guy is better and if Paco wants to be the bets he certainly has to beat the best. Standing across the cage from his is his opponent 265lbs Eli Williams. Eli is coming off of a two fight win streak where he knocked out Joey Knish and took JT colossus to the judges only to be declared the winner. In his Blitzkrieg debut he is taking on a man who might have been the champion of Blitzkrieg if it wasn’t due for that nasty cut on his eye. Eli Williams still holds the belt for Acme title even though the business seems to have disappeared after its 199th event Paco holds that title like a baby in his arms. Now when the bell rings what can you expect you may ask? First let me say it like this you can expect a knockout of the night! Second you can expect someone to wonder why they stepped in with the opposition at the end of the night because only one of these guys is walking out of this thing to the afterparty. See when you meet two guys with such incredible force as the men here do tonight you cant help but wonder which one is going to get knocked out. I mean, generally speaking the two guys are 26i5lbs. and it really could be either one that gets dropped come Saturday. Most the fight fans on the street seem to be thinking that Paco will win this one and I wonder if that is due to their ignorance fo who Eli Williams is and what he can do in the cage. Here is the biggest problem facing Williams. Bigger than Paco is that its his first fight in the Blitzkrieg arena. You cant train for something like that. Most guys make their professional debut in Blitz and are quickly swept under the rug. Only to return to one of the fights later. Personally I love watching good fights but I don’t know who will win this fight. I have to make a prediction something that just has to be done so let me say goodluck to both fighters now and hope for the best for the two of you. MY PREDICTION: The fight will end up going to Paco Da Man. I think Paco will iwn this fight because of his insane knockout power. If Williams stands up he will feel the pressure of the PPV lights and fold to a PPV champions fist!

Aloha Hoi vs Simon Williams

Ladies and Gentleman boys and girls children of all ages I welcome you to the main event of the evening. For the 265lbs title of the world Aloha Hoi versus Simon Williams! It will be five rounds so lets get it on! Ok folks what do we have here? We have two of the very best fighters not just in the division but in Blitzkrieg period. They are going head to head in what will surely be a fight that will end before the judges get to do their thing. Lets take a look first at the challenger, 28-11 Aloha “Pineapple” Hoi! With about nine professional fights inside the Blitzkrieg cage its safe to say that Aloha Hoi is no doubt highly recognized in Blitzkrieg and has a great fan base here at Blitzkrieg. Aloha Hoi has faced some of the best this division has had to offer and only now does he get to fight for the title. Many people do not actually know this but Aloha Hoi was once the Blitzkrieg champion who had the belt winning it in thirty seven seconds from Sean Mcmorrow. Losing three straight fights after that in the Blitzkrieg cage Blitz decided to offer him one last fight to save his but from getting released form his contract and here is where the former champion proved himself. Aloha Hoi quickly defeated Cedric Myton, Ernesti Vihervaara and Budo Rei. In his most recent performance he let Oscar Amazon suffer a brutal TKO that no doubt gave him the next shot to fight for the title. Anyone that knows anything about Pineapple Head knows that he is a great finisher with 28 victories 26 of those are by knockout. Hes suffered a knockout himself 3 times and been submitted once other than that his losses come from decision. This is a great fight for Simon Williams. The champion Simono Williams was riding high on a six fight winstreak before losing to Gamma champion Anton Chigurh in Blitzkrieg 120 End All. It was a huge disappointment for Williams to get caught with that head kick but he got back in there and defended his title against Paco Da Man who he TKO’d in the first round. With most of his title fights coming by way of early finish Simon Williiams is a very entertaining champion. A fun history lesson on Simon Williams is that he is actually the two time champion of Blitzkrieg losing once to Atilla after defeating Pekka Topohanta. It was no doubt a success that he regained his title by defeating his former opponent and champion and quickly became one of Blitzkriegs best champions to date. In his last five fights he has only fought for a total of nine rounds defeating most of his opponents in the first round. Now what can you expect from a fighter who has 18 of his 19 victories coming by way of knockout? Another knockout is correct. Its almost an insane idea for anyone to go in there against Simon Williams and stand toe to toe with the man he is legit bound to knock you clean out. This is what makes this fight so very interesting both of these men have insane knockout power and they use it very well knocking out almost everyone they go up against. It will be more than interesting to see what kind of game plan will be used here for this fight! Will both come out aggressive or countering? Will any takedowns be thrown in the mix or clinchwork for that matter? A Blitzkrieg fight fan like me can only dream of the possibilities that this fight will turn out. Personally I love to see new champions crowned but when a fighter is absolutely dominant I love to see him remain the top champion for a while and Simon Williams is a great guy always good with the fans and I think they will have his back at the Bell Centre this upcoming weekend. MY PREDICTION: Simon Williams will retain his title in a great fight of the night or knockout of the night! I expect plenty of blood and both fighters to get rocked out there and the crowd to go crazy!
