                 WKBC: Super Series 5 (PREVIEW)

Hello! ladies and gents (although i prefer ladies), how ya'll doing? I hope very good, cause if not, don't you worry as WKBC is back baby, and back with another banger, which i am sure will lift the doom and gloom morale (boring people) of every person watching this event unfold in a few hours time. And therefore, why wait any longer? cause it's almost time, and hence, join me in going through a detailed analysis of every fighter involved in this event below....

FIGHT 1:

Filip "The Croat" Mirkovic vs Anton "The Weirdo" Ibarra (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])

Wow! what a fight to kick us off! Nah, not really, cause this will most probably be one of the lopsided contests of the entire tournament, as Filip Mirkovic (0-4) [Yeah, let that sink in, 0-4!] #12 in the standings with 0 points [oh and this definitely needs to sink in, 0 points], goes up against Anton Ibarra (3-1) #7 in the standings with 9 points, so yeah, what a fight!  . Anyways, now looking at the skillsets of these two, well, tell you what, they are much more evenly matched than i expected. Mirkovic is a Muay thai striker and also a half-decent boxer, who likes to striker his opponents from clinch position and also keep their opponents in close proximity to themselves, cause, that's what Muay thai guys do right? He has also not got the best chin in the business and hence he will need to be very careful if he even wants to win this fights (cause frankly, it does not look to me that he is bothered about the tourney anymore).

His opponents journey in this tournament though, tells a very different story, as Ibarra, who is a very good Muay thai striker and a half decent wrestler, has been on a roll recently, with 2 back to back wins, which has propelled him well up in the standings. He is a guy who prefers to dominate his opponents with constant strikes, rather than produce that one punch KO that will knock his opponent out to la-la land most of the time, but hey, when something is working why change it for more entertainment?

And so after taking a microscopic look at the fighters and their abilities, i think that only one thing can happen in this matchup, which is, Mirkovic loses this fight, and loses it pretty embarrassingly. Unless of course, Ibarra decides not to turn up for the fight, for which, Mirkovic most probably needs to pray in every church possible.

~ PREDICTION ANTON IBARRA WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3)

FIGHT 2:

Skinny "Tessin" Arse vs Valdeci "THE MILK MOLESTER" Sobrinho Campos (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])

Well-well-well, look at what we have got in here, "THE MILK MOLESTER" vs the Arse, and tell you what, both these guys have stayed true to their name, with the kind of performances they have put up in the entirity of the tournament, so far, as Skinny has truly been an arse and his record of (0-4) and him being at #13 in the standings with 0 points, just puts cherry on top of my statement. And oh, don't leave our Milk Molester too far behind though, cause he hasn't been much better either. Why do i say this? well, his record is (1-3) and he is currently at #11 in the standings with 2 points (yes two!) that's why! But for now, let's take a closer look at both the competitors.

Skinny Arse is another one of the technical Muay Thai strikers in the tournament who is also a very decent boxer (all in all, a pure standup striker). I don't know much about him (I gotta hold my hands up), but there is a pattern in all of his fights, that is, he starts off dominating every fight that he takes part in, but after a certain point of time, he simply does not do it anymore, which tells me he does not have good conditioning. And also, he certainly doesn't have the best of chins, and hence he get's KO'ed way too easily, and therefore, to win this fight (which he really needs to do), he will have to firstly, defend well, and then pick and choose his time to attack, so that he does not burn himself out early in the fight.

Now his opponent, Sobrinho Campos, is also a Muay thai artist who has got decent boxing skills, but most importantly, he is much the better striker overall (if you compare both of them). He has had a very disappointing campaign in the tournament so far, after coming into this tourney as the 2nd seeded fighter, but hey, who on earth looks at the seeds (not me,,,, ahm, no, not me definitely, i just took a quick peek, now back to the fight). He has this really bad tendency to get KO'ed out cold with one punch or kick way too often, and that really concerns me about him, cause if that trend continues, then even though he may be winning a fight, his opponent knows that he can get Ko'ed very easily, and that is not a good message to send to your opponent. Therefore if he wants to win this fight, he will really need to be really careful of his opponents punches and kicks, so that he doesn't get knock out even though he may be dominating the fight.

So after the analysis of the fighters, i think that this should be a very easy win for Campos, if he does not lose his concentration mid-fight (as usual)

~ PREDICTION: VALDECI SOBRINHO CAMPOS WINS VIA TKO (ROUND 2)

FIGHT 3:

Eduardo "The Mexican Mesochist" Estevez vs "The Brick "Daewoo Lanos (FEATHERWEIGHT [145 LBS])

Okay, so before i start off with the preview of this fight, i want to know the meaning of Mesochist, anybody? Nevermind. So, just praying to be done with the worst performers in the tournament, my prayers got answers, but unfortunately, someone from above, obviously heard my prayers, but in the wrong way. As i do have the best performer (all is well here), but he is the best performer in reverse order (I want to jump off a cliff now). So, in this fight, we got Eduardo Estevez (0-4) #14 in the standings (wait for it, Out of 14! fighters, yeah, stone dead last) vs Daewoo Lanos (1-3) #9 in the standings [respectable position]. We all know what is going to happen in this fight, therefore let's not waste our time and take a look at the two fighters involved.

So, Estevez is a wrestler, who in all honesty, is not good at anything else, other than taking you down whenever he wishes to do so. His style of fighting is something that baffles me, because in each and every one of his fights, he tries to clinch with his opponents, knowing very well, that he does not possess  good Muay Thai skills, and hence most of the time, he either get's rocked by his opponents or get's knocked out cold. And therefore, if he has any desire left in him to win this fight, then he needs to utilize his wrestling superiority, and hopefully keep his opponent in the ground long enough for him to get ahead in the judges scorecard, otherwise, i see him suffering yet another loss.

Now his opponent, Lanos, is a Muay thai striker who is also a very decent wrestler (that helps him in defending the takedown attempts from his opponent big time, in this fight). He somehow, has turned into a master of taking every fight that he competes in, into the judges scorecards for a decision. He is a guy, who is a very slow starter, and when i say slow starter, i mean that he generally starts off all his fights at a very slow pace, and does not throw many strikes in the first couple of rounds, but then, he just suddenly turns up the heat in the third round and tries to get the win, but unfortunately, most of the time, he fails to finish his opponents, and hence ends up losing the fight. And therefore, if he wants to win this fight, he will need to be more aggressive at the start of the fight, so that he can keep his opponent at bay for the entire match, and win this fight easily, as we know he has the ability to keep up the aggression level, once he ups the ante.

This fight should be a win for Lanos, unless he get's taken down early and dominated in the ground, cause we know, that if this is a standup match, then there is no way on earth, that lanos loses to Estevez

~ PREDICTION: DAEWOO LANOS WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3) [SIMPLY CAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE KO POWER]

FIGHT 4:   Sagat "Tigerstyle" Petchyindee vs "The Punisher" Purjo Pekka Koistinen (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])                 Ok, i really need to be careful before writing anything about this fight, cause the boss (Jay) won't be happy if i try to demane his guy for sure, but hey, lucky me, cause i have finally got 2 fighters who have actually got more wins than losses ( )   so yeah, great job guys! Anyways, so in this fight, we not only have a difference of skillsets, but also quite possibly a change of tactical approach towards this fight, as both of them have different advantages when it comes to the matchup. Now introducing the two competitors, first up we have Sagat Petchyindee (4-0) #3 in the standings with 10 points and he will go up against Pekka Koistinen (3-1) #4 in the standings with 9 points. Guys, Don't miss this fight cause it's going to be a cracker.               So Sagat is a Muay thai striker with decent level boxing expertise. He is another one of those guys, who like to dominate their opponents for all the 3 rounds rather than just knocking them out cold in the opening minutes of the fight (that is, if he had KO power, but we won't go to that discussion, cause if i do that, i will be fired tomorrow).More often than not, he has been dominating the entirity of the match that he was a part of, and hence, to win this fight, he will look to continue, getting up-close and personal with his opponent in the cage, and just smash the living hell out of his opponent in the clinch.                Now his opponent, Koistinen, is also a very good Muay thai striker (maybe not as good as Sagat) but, the advantage that he will have all throughout the fight, is his much-maligned wrestling skills, where in he is much superior to Sagat. He has also got the ability to dominate his opponents throughout the match, but another bug armor that he has down his sleeve, is that he has genuine KO power, and therefore, if he uses his wrestling and Muay thai cleverly, then he could very well win this match, which he has been very desperate to win for a long time, so that he could move up above his opponent in the rankings.                This will be a very close call, but i would say that Sagat will use his superior Muay Thai to full effect and win this fight.   ~ PREDICTION: SAGAT PETCHYINDEE WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3)   FIGHT 5:   Jacobo "El Toro Loco" Fonseca vs "The Destroyer" Muhammad Jaraya (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])                   Now then, just as i was about to start becoming a lot more positive about the quality of fighters in show, i get thrown back down to earth (as always, and boy he threw me down hard, too.) as in our last fight before we move onto our co-main event and the main event, we get to witness a matchup between Jacobo Fonseca (1-3) #10 in the standings with 2 points vs Muhammad Jaraya (1-3) #8 in the standings with 3 points. I mean, i really don't know how much money their managers paid our organization, to get this fight so high up the order, but i am guessing it's close to the 20k mark. Anyways, i have to do my thing, and hence let's take a look at the fighters involved.                Jacobo Fonseca is a Muay Thai striker who in all honestly, has nothing more to offer. He is a guy, who even with decent abilities and skills, simply gets dominated in most of the fights that he takes part in, and that clearly shows the tactical faults that are in his game along with a very weak chin, that was there for all to see in his previous fight, where he got ko'ed out cold. And therefore, if he wants to win this fight, then i would say, he need to be focused on one thing and one thing only, be more aggressive from the get go, and try to clinch with his opponent at all times and stay close to him to use his Muay thai.                Muhammad Jaraya on the other end, is a guy whose path in the tournament has not really been much better than his opponent, to be honest. Hell, some would say that they are floating in the same boat at this current stage. And tell you what, that statement might not be very wrong, cause even he is a Muay thai striker with some decent Boxing skills, and hence, he will also try to keep this fight in the clinch and try to knock his opponent out to win this fight. But overall, i would say he is the much better fighter in a pure standup fight, and hence i would say that he will most probably win this fight, but not comfortably whatsoever.                After looking at both of them, i would give this one to Muhammad Jaraya, simply because i know he can show that level of aggression which decides a fight, but unfortunately i don't see it in Fonseca.   ~ PREDICTION: MUHAMMAD JARAYA WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3) [IT VERY WELL COULD BE A TKO VICTORY]

(CO-MAIN EVENT)

FIGHT 6:

Schmedgar "No Friends" Dimms vs "The Butcher Of Rostov" Andrei Chikatilo (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])

Now, Co-headlining our event is a fight, from which, we can learn a whole bunch of things surrounding a tournament, that how contrasting styles of fighting, can lead to one of the fighters topping the standings, and the other stuck between the chasing pack. So, this was a contest between Schmedgar Dimms (3-1) #6 in the standings with 9 points vs Andrei Chikalito (3-1) #1 with 14 points. But, the main difference about this fight is the stylistic difference between the two fighters, which will be further discussed below..

So, Dimms is a wrestler who remarkably has legitimate KO power, which was on show in one of his fights. But his main strength is pretty evident for everyone to see i think, which is that he likes to take the fights into a clinch and then very intelligently and technically dominate his opponent, through a barrage of strikes and then use his wrestling skills to keep his opponent backed up against the cage, so that he can't throw any of his own strikes (i gotta say, very good strategy). And so, by doing all this, he will be hoping to win this fight, so that he can close the gap to his opponent and derail the momentum that chikalito has built up in recent weeks.

Now Chikalito though, is a very different animal to his opponent, as he is a pure boxer, who is just interested in one thing and one thing only, and that is, to knock his opponent out or force a referee stoppage, by hook or by crook. Now, as he is a boxer, so he likes to keep his distance and stay on the outside at all times, so that he can find his favourable range and then boss the fight from there, but, he has a bad knack of getting drawn into clinching up with his opponent and then losing the match which was evident in his debut. Therefore, if he wants to win this fight, then he will need to avoid clinching at all cost.

After taking a look at both the fighters, i think that if this fight goes to a clinch, then Dimms will boss this fight, but if it stays as a boxing match, then chikalito should win it (as he has KO power and he is much superior boxer)

~ PREDICTION: SCHMEDGAR DIMMS WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3)

(MAIN EVENT)

FIGHT 7:

Charlie "Osage" River vs Juan "Eski" Escobar (FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT [145 LBS])

Rounding up the Round of 16 for the WBKC 145 World tournament, will be a battle between two undefeated prospects, who are both vying for that no #1 spot in the rankings, which in turn, makes sure that they are in the driving seat to win this whole tournament. So, now introducing the 2 fighters, first up is, Charlie River (4-0) #2 in the standings with 14 points (level with the leader) who will go one on one against Juan Escobar (4-0) #5 in the standings with 9 points. This will be a very tactical affair between these two, cause both of em, pretty much fight in the same way, and hence it will be very interesting to see what happens in this fight, but before we do that, let's take a closer look at both the fighters.

Charlie is a Muay thai striker with decent wrestling skills (you guys have probably heard this from me one too many times today, but hey, i gotta say what i see right?). He knows only one way way of fighting to be honest, and wrestling plays a part in it, but then again, comes no where near it, as his primary fighting style has always been to take the fight into a clinch and then, let the fireworks erupt. He also has legitimate KO power, which is what sometimes bothers some of his opponents, as they know, that he can break the clinch anytime and knock them out, so all in all, he is a beast.

Now his opponent, surprisingly enough, is also a undefeated Muay thai striker who is also a (NOTHING!) cause that is all he knows. He is another guy with legitimate KO power, who likes to take each and every fight of his into a clinch, so that he could use his strength (Muay thai) to full effect and end the fight as the winner. But, i have to mention this, that he is much the superior Muay Thai striker of the two fighters involved in this fight, and hence, it will be more of a tactical battle between the two fighters to decide the winner of this fight. But nonetheless, he would still take the fight into a clinch regardless, as that is what he does (in simple terms).

Now, this one is really a hard one to call, but i will go with the guy higher up in the standings, just due to his sheer aggression, which results in him getting more KO wins.

~ PREDICTION: CHARLIE RIVER WINS VIA UNANIMOUS DECISION (ROUND 3)

So with that, another fantastic event staged by WKBC comes to an end, i hope you guys liked the preview.

And up until next time, stay safe and have a great day!
