A Deeper Look into a Sitsongrit

Fighter profile of Petchuanglek Sitsongrit by Outlaw Bleak

The HFC does some background into their champions when they look like they are going to be around to stay for a while.  "We like to know our champions and their managers before we really invest in them."  Said J.W. Hardman at a recent interview, inquiering about their vetting process.  Some come and go, as we saw with Aaron Wolf when he walked shortly lafter earning the belt.  Some will stay and become legends such as SHW champion Wanker is doing.

When you have a young fighter displaying so much promise as Petchuanglek Sitsongrit, you have to know where he comes from, what drives the man, and who steers his career.  So our investigation took us to Theksit Ruengruong and his stable of fighters who are renown for their Muay Thai heritage.

"I've said many times, Muay Thai is the top level of competition in fighting.  This MMA is a side gig made into a spectacle by rich men." claimed a coah from the Sitsongrit Gym located in Rio de Janeiro.  He asked that his name not be mentioned since several of their stable of fighters compete in MMA due to a lucrative contracts.

The one thing I kept hearing repeated around not only the gym, but the city, is the Sitsongrit heritage and how pure of a line of fighters that name has always represented.  Pure in the sence that they are Muay Thai strikers, fierce competitiors, and always work hard to get to the top.  And when you think of Sitsongrit Heritage, you have to think of the mysterious case of stolen identity that happened to Petchuangtong, older brother of Petchuanglek.  Many claim that the real Petchuangtong never stepped foot inside the Sitsongrit camp and his mysterious dissappearance is still nothing more than a rumor on the wind today.

But now, fighting for his family name, honor, and the memory of his beloved older brother, Petchuanglek has found himself thrust into the spotlight at a young age and has fought his way to the top of one of the very best MMA organizations in the game today.  Now, seven fights into his already historic career, Petchuanglek is the undisputed reigning bantamweight champion of the HFC and has mowed down everyone he's faced in the division to date in spectacular fashion.  The MMA media have been quoted giving him praise for a "beautiful display of accurate striking." and if you've ever seen him inside that cage, you know exactly what they were talking about.

As technical and accurate of a striker as you'll ever see, he's risen to the top of the HFC in short order and has slapped around everyone that's stepped to the plate.  With his second title defense upcoming on 11/21/2020, he'll be facing top contender Chad Repine who's held the very same belt earlier this year.

When we tried to contact Petchuanglek, we did manage to get ahold of him but he was very short and to the point and only had a single message for us to use before the fight.

Sitsongrit "I fight for my family, I fight for my country, I fight for myself.  I train hard at family gym to become champion of long line of Sitsongrit champions.  With the spirit of my brother with me, I will become one of greatest Sitsongrit fighters to grace the world of MMA.  I must get back to training now."  With that, a click of the phone and he was gone.  The interesting part about it is the only question we ever got to ask was, Hello Petchuanglek, how are you doing today?
We tried to dip into the world surrounding the Sitsongrit camp and the dissappearance of Petchuangtong, but everyone was so focused on training for upcoming fights that I couldn't get anyone to pay me any mind.  I guess we'll just have to wait until after the fight and see if we can catch up with Petchuanglek before he has a chance to think about a potential next opponent.

One thing is for sure, come Saturday, there will be at least one man lazer focused and looking to cement another brick into the path of his legacy.
