Darsin Bleak, Making a Name

Fighter profile of Darsin Bleak by Outlaw Bleak

Darsin Bleak, known around the gym as the Sandman, is making his presence felt in the MMA world.  An outstanding young grappler who fights with a tenacity unrivaled by his peers.  A relative unknown, having always been in the shadows of his brother Wulfgang, Bleak made a name for himself in Wolfpack Fighting Alliance.  He went 4-0 in his first 4 fights, all via submission, and 2 of which earning an of the night award.  This earned him a shot at the title, and he did not disappoint.

On November 13th, the undefeated Bleak would step into the cage with the undefeated champion who would be defending his belt for the first time since earning it with a victory over now retired Jurney Man.    After dominating the first round, completely smothering Estili, Bleak showed his class in the 2nd round.  As stoners around the world were sparking their bowls, 4:20 into the 2nd round, Bleak handed Estili his first loss and became WPFA Lightweight Champion of the world.

Bleak was able to defend his belt in his next fight against Wei Ru, but WPFA closed their doors and Bleak would not take another fight in the org.  He now was a champion without a home.

There were no shortage of offers, but manager J.W. Hardman wanted to avoid Bleak having to face competition from his own and had him sign with GAMMA: Contenders.  This was a huge chance for Bleak to get into the GAMMA org affiliate and showcase what he can do as he works towards the big boys.

He did not disappoint.  His first 5 professional fights all ended by submission.  His last fight ended via TKO as he defended his belt.  In his GC debut, he took on Adam Barnes and ended the fight  via KO for the first time in his young, but impressive career.  This KO earned him a title shot against current champ Jack McScramble.  Again, he did not disappoint.  As with tradition, in his challenger title fight, he waited until the 2nd round to take care of business.

In just under 2 minutes into the 2nd round, Bleak rocks McScramble with some ruthless GnP from side control and moves into full Mount and reigning down fiery hell onto the poor McScramble's face.  McScramble looked like McScrambled eggs in his post fight interview.  Bleak was the champ, again.  He now looks towards the future to his next title defense.  Will his chin be tested?  Will he be forced to show his heart?  There are so many unknowns about Bleak.  How will he handle a loss?  Will he ever lose?  Just how good is this guy?  The world awaits, as does Bleak.  But for now, he's going to keep on fighting, and keep on winning.  Eventually these questions will be answered, but one thing is for sure.  The world now knows who Darsin Bleak is.
