“Big” Steven Petitpas here on the Island for the most anticipated debut of the Island Season. Island Xtreme Fighting, in association with its merchandise partner, Island Xtreme Clothing, is proud to present IXF1 live from Paddy O’Malleys Bar. Let’s get to it!

Main Event
170 lbs Greek Powaaah (0-0) v Marcus Behnder (3-0)

Headlining IXF1 is 18 year-old Greek Powaah against 25 year old Marcus “I need a Band-Aid” Behnder. We should expect Powaah to stand and exchange and he has a good height advantage to keep Behnder at bay if he chooses. Behnder is 3-0 and after some QFC warm-up’s which saw him dominate on the ground game to earn three submissions in less than four total minutes. If there’s a knock on his game, it’s his paper-thin skin. Greek Powaah has the acumen to take advantage, but does he have the skill to pull it off? Find out on March 6th at IXF 1.

155 lbs Snake Jones (0-0) v Mihail Strutu (1-0)

We jump to the 155 pound division for the penultimate fight. A native of Manchester, Snake Jones is an all-round 25 year old fighter looking to dominate the division. He comes into IXF1 as the second-ranked fighter in the division and a win over Strutu could open the door for a title fight. Mihail Strutu joined IXF after a one-fight career in Tortuga Fight. His one and only fight was 21 second, 5-punch knockout of some bum whose been recently retired. Not much of a warm-up for the Romanian, but at least he knows he can throw em down.

205 lbs Johnny Cannons (0-0) v Jin Dredd (0-0)

Representing the 205 pound division, Johnny "Warboner" Cannons squares off against Jin Dredd. Cannons is from the famed Chris Karter family and the 25 year old from nearby Nassau told this reporter that he’s not going to let the team down. His mixture of Muay Thai and wrestling prowess will be a tough match for anyone. Jin Dredd disagrees. The 25 year old native of Rio de Janeiro comes into this match already having brown belt in BJJ and fully expects to use this to make Cannons tap.

170 lbs Son Of Dan (0-0) v Brazilian Powaaah (0-0)

Another 170 pound matchup featuring two newcomers to the sport. The 25 year old Son of Dan is the stablemate of Jorge Aquino Jr. He started his career later in life, but his corner is hoping the increased life experience will better prepare him for the rigors of the Cage. His opponent is the 2nd of three Powaaah brothers representing manager Clubber Winger. Brazilian gives up 7 years to Son of Dan and 10 pounds, but has a very small reach advantage. On the Island, any advantage could be the difference between glory and defeat.

170 lbs Jorge Aquino Jr (0-0) v Dagestan Powaaah (0-0)

Two MMA Tycoon newcomers start off the Main Event card. Jorge Aquino was dropped onto the Island from Stone Mountain, Georgia, and rumors around the locker room are that he’s been working on his ground game. Said a trainer at Cozad’s gym “Aquino? Ya he pays his bills.” Dagestan Powaaah is also working hard at the Island’s Cozad gym and although he’s an Abu Dhabi native, his blood runs deep with Degastanian warrior blood. It will be a contrast in styles for these two 18-year olds; will Degastan use his boxing skills to keep this one upright, or will Aquino Jr sweep him off his feet?

And now, for the undercard! Full of veteran fighters who have stood the test of time… just kidding. It’s the first blood event of the organization and with it will come the first blood of many of its fighters.

The night will be kicked off by the 205 lbs fight between Rock Brown vs Max Strasburg.

This is like the tenth Max Strasburg that has entered the octagon and so far, and well, things had not gone well for his predecessors.  And tonight, Max is unlikely to break the name’s curse, given he’s bringing a blue belt against Rock’s brown belt.   Since Max wouldn’t hit a sandbag with a punch, he will have to take it to the ground, and then somehow stop getting subbed.

Will he succeed?  We shall see tomorrow.

The second fight of the night will be a 265 lbs battle between Louise Chaderito vs Marcus Gilliam.

Unlike the previous fight, this won’t be a grappling match.  Both fighters are strikers, and while Gilliam is an expert boxer, Chaderito is a muay thai artist.  Does Chaderito have any other move than a punch up his sleeve? Unlikely.  So, this will be a fun slugfest with Gilliam having a slight edge in skillset, and Chaderito will try to make up for it with motivation alone.  The thing is that he’s almost broke, so he needs a win, badly.

Will that be enough?  I think so.

The next fight is a 155 lbs war between Hells No vs Antonio “Piranha” Gomes.

This fight will look as if the fighters have mistaken their sport. Both come with a bjj brown belt, Gomes even sporting a Gi, and it’s unlikely they will do anything other than cuddle.  Don’t want to watch adult, almost naked men cuddle? Tough luck,  because that’s what you’re getting in this fight.

So, who will win?  How am I supposed to know that? Do I look like I have a crystal ball?  Get off my back.

The fourth fight of the night in the 265 lbs division will be Louis Gingerbeard vs Popul  Vuh.

This one will be entertaining. Vuh will enter the arena in stylish, IXC outfit while Gingerbeard wears the default clothes.  Like, really, who does that these days?  Anyway, in terms of the fight, Vuh will try to keep this in striking, which he will most likely fail to do. Gingerbeard, on the other hand, has a clean plan in form of engaging in the clinch, maintaining an advantegous position and molesting Vug.  And I’m not even talking about the possibility of Gingerbeard pulling guard and breaking Vuh’s arm in a triangle.

Even he doesn’t end up attempting that, this will be an uphill battle for Vuh.

And the final fight of the undercard will be in the 170 lbs division between Steve "Crawdad" Cannson vs Polish Powaaah.

With both of these kids being 18, they look a touch out of place in comparison to the other fighters.  But that doesn’t mean their fight will be any less exciting.  Ok, nevermind, it does. Powaaaah comes in with excellent boxing and no grappling skills while Cannson is a grappler.

If Cannson isn’t too young to know how to shoot for a takedown, he’s got this in the bag.  Powaaah will come in fast, hot, get taken down, and then violated on the ground.

He’s welcomed to prove me wrong though.
