205lb CONTEST:  Ari Silver vs Franky Page

With a full arsenal of weapons to choose from, this fight had the potential to go anywhere. Silver comes out and rushes into a clinch.  This decision proves hasty as Page presses for the takedown, secures it and tries to smash Silver’s head through the canvas.  Silver manages to avoid much of the onslaught until he hits a reversal, but a busy Page hits his own sweep seconds later and closes the round on top.

Ari Silver comes out in the 2nd and immediately opens up Franky Page, however he instigates another clinch and ends up on his back again.  Franky Page lands the GNP, but the referee decides he’s on Team Silver and stands the fighters back up.  Silver seems to understand that the ground will be bad news for him and stuffs a few takedown attempts from Page, who settles for a clinch instead.  Franky hits another TD from the clinch and ends the round on top again.  The 3rd opens with Page knowing where this fight has to go.  He has his initial takedown stuffed, but persists and ends up in Silver’s guard.  Some back and forth action here until the ref pulls favourites again and stands the fighters back up.  Ari has learned nothing and clinches up, only to be taken down again.  A final standup at the end of the round has me fully convinced that the ref is in the bookies pocket.

WINNER:  Franky Page (UD)

265lb+ CONTEST:  Ricky Rawse vs Thiago Araujo

Is Ricky Rawse drunk?  He looks drunk.  He’s got lipstick on his forehead and a hickey on his neck. Oh snap! Araujo takes this one down to the ground and is looking for submissions!  Ricky wakes up long enough to reverse the position, but quickly ends up sniffing crotch and gets caught in a triangle.  Game over.  Big statement from Thiago Araujo!!!

WINNER:  Thiago Araujo (SUB)

265lb+ CO-MAIN EVENT:  Vincent Lemieux vs Naiki Nekele

Lemieux and Nekele have a little pep in their step and some pop in their punches, as both fighters meet in the center of the cage to commence hitting each other.  Both men are trading blows, when Lemieux throws a hail mary that has Nekele bleeding.  Nekele appears panicked at the sight of his own blood and starts windmilling punches - miss, miss, miss.  BOOM! Lemieux sends one down the pipe and has Nekele stumbling.  Nekele attempts to regain his composure, but Vincent smells blood and proceeds to knock him down not once, but twice more.  Nekele’s legs don’t seem to be working properly anymore, he’s dancing around like an inflatable tube man.  Lemieux loads up and throws a hook from hell and Nekele is off for his CT Scan.  Good night sweet prince.

WINNER:  Vincent Lemieux (KO)

205lb CHAMPIONSHIP - MAIN EVENT:  C - Cerberus Dionsy vs Kermit Archer

Who’s the man?  Cerberus Dionsy.  Who wants to be the man?  Kermit Archer.  Light Heavyweight Belt on the table, these two killers step into the cage.

The fighters open up the belt, both extremely aware of the others capabilities and neither rushes into danger, as though both try to feel one another out.  A couple of quality exchanges are overshadowed by the only real developments in the round; a takedown by Archer and a reversal by Dionsy.

Kermit Archer comes out in the second full of confidence, while the  Champion is comfortable standing, but looks wary of another takedown from Archer.  It shows as Kermit gets his feet moving and is scoring with strikes.  Dionsy blinks first and over commits to a strike that results in a counter takedown by Archer.  Each fighter claims a round as we head into the 3rd.

Dionsy has found the zone, using his talent for striking and now unafraid of the takedown.  The Champion’s timing is on point now, pressuring and countering seamlessly.  Kermit Archer looks to be lulled into a rhythm dictated by Cerberus Dionsy and is taking heat from head to toe now.  POW!  Dionsy unleashes an unexpected uppercut, knocking Archer to the ground.  He jumps in to paste the dazed challenger and finish the job!  Great fight!

WINNER:  Cerberus Dionsy t(KO)
