Madison Garden Arena - New York
We’re back in New York at Madison Garden Arena for a fun filled night of fights! 19,574 MMA fans packed the house, lusting for violence and avoiding the pizza. 3 of 4 main card fights shut out the lights, so this one was a banger!
265lb CONTEST: Murska Puro vs Keith Bishop
https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039433
You get the feeling that both of these guys are running on borrowed time. Puro can’t seem to get back to back wins and Bishop has strung together a 4 fight losing streak, albeit to a who’ who of the Smash HW division. These guys could be literally fighting for their careers tonight.
The good news is that both fighters seem to understand this and come in looking for the kill. Unfortunately only one can be left standing under these circumstances and tonight it was Keith Bishop’s time to shine. Bishop smashes Puro with a massive left hook in the 2nd and continues to pound his skull until the ref separates the two.
WINNER: Keith Bishop t(KO)

135lb CONTEST: Kris Jakua vs Roger Andermatt
https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039436
While Jakua and Andermatt start this fight with bad intentions, they also seem content to let one another stay in it for the opening round. A back and forth series of exchanges see’s these two trading blows, but nothing of real substance comes of the first round. In the 2nd round, Andermatt steps his game up both connecting with strikes and making Jakua miss a fair bit...he also seems to be throwing with more vigor, however Jakua keeps himself in this fight and although Roger seems to be winning, it is still close.
Cue round 3. Andermatt is uncontent with leaving this one to the judges and throws a little more gusto into his punches. When Jakua walks into a stiff jab he looks dazed and Andermatt moves in for the kill. A head kick opens the door for the finish as Roger Andermatt follows up with a horrendous right hand, dropping the confused Jakua. A flurry of punches leaves the ref no choice and he steps in to save Jakua’s pride and health.
WINNER: Roger Andermatt t(KO)

265lb - CO-MAIN EVENT: Philo Beddo Ii vs Mawi Da Oxlade
https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039434
Philo Beddo Ii has the ability to fight for 15 minutes. Mawi Da Oxlade is a question mark because all of his fights - win or lose - have never gone to the judges. Each fighter prefers to live or die by the sword. Last night was no different.
Beddo Ii splits Mawi open within the first minute of this fight with a laser directed counter punch and we move to the clinch. Beddo Ii seems to be dominant while tying up Da Oxlade, landing knees and punches - and then the tide turns. Mawi Da Oxlade connects with an uppercut and cuts Philo before breaking the clinch. Philo drops his hands and Mawi throws a precision high kick and Ii is OUT. No need for a follow up because Philo is unconscious!
WINNER: Mawi Da Oxlade (KO)

205lb - MAIN EVENT: Rayful Edmond vs Roland Weudke
https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039432
Both men have had a sniff at the belt against Cerberus Dionsy. Both have lost. These 2 journeymen have seen their highs and lows, but inconsistent showings mark their careers. Still they are both popular fighters amongst the hardcore fans since they are as tough as nails.
An early right hand from Edmond cuts Weudke and looks like it could cause him problems. Rayful Edmond works the gaping wound looking for a doctor stoppage and making a bloody mess of Weudke’s face. The fans are loving this - good thing Weudke is already ugly as sin. Edmond pounds away at his opponent, but Weudke keeps coming forward. With the cut causing vision problems for Roland, he takes aim at the biggest target and is landing successfully to the body of Edmond while slowing him down with leg kicks. These shots are taking their toll on Rayful and he begins to tire and miss with his own offensive. When Rayful Edmond fails to put Weudke away, it gets turned over to the judges who calculate the points. Roland Weudke walks away from this battle the winner.
WINNER: Roland Weudke (UD)
