 IXF XI

Organization: Island Xtreme Fighting

Date: 7 Apr 2021

City: The Island (17:00 GMT)

Arena: Hard Knocks - The Island (3,000)

Greetings Island Xtreme fight fans and welcome to our first stop at the Hard Knocks watering hole here on the Island.  We have you covered tonight as we close out the show when the first fighter in the companies existence will have gold wrapped around their waist!  Not only that but we will showcase some fireworks, some guys trying to recover from recent losses and of course a show like this wouldn’t be worthy of my time without a high octane midget fight!!

In our Main Event of the evening is a showdown between the Islands #1 ranked Lightweight, undefeated KO artiste Ricky Luciano taking on the #4 ranked Lightweight fighter and fellow undefeated warrior, BJJ specialist Hells No.  This battle adds the intrigue and suspense as the winner will not only have his hand raised in victory, but he will forever be remembered as the Fight Promotions very first crowned champion.

155 lbs  Ricky Luciano v Hells No

Ricky steps into the cage for his 5th time this season and the 4th time under the IXF umbrella with a explosive arsenal of punches, never one to lay back in wait on his prey, Luciano goes after it and takes no prisoners landing at over a 70% rate and let me tell you folks, you get hit, you go to sleep!  Luciano is known to wear his heart on his sleeve however to date he has shown a determination to be the last man standing in each of his trips to the cage.  Standing opposite him is an accomplished BJJ Brown Belt who may just possess the Granite Chin to be Luciano’s kryptonite.  His undoing may very well be his inability to land any strikes he has thrown thus far in his career however he makes up for it with over 80% success rate when taking the fight to his favorite place, the ground.   The last time Luciano faced off against a Granite chinned opponent he was making his professional debut at IXF II, where he was not able to seal the deal with a finish, taking until the final frame to cut, rock and knockdown his opponent however it was not enough leaving him to settle for a unanimous decision victory.  I am sure he has learned from that fight as he prepares for tonight showdown and will make the required adjustments.  No on the other hand has not yet fully reached his potential as he has gone the distance in 2 of his 3 career fights, the last one being a controversial judges draw.  Depending on whose fight camp you talk to, both combatants feel they did enough to earn the win but that’s all in the past now, as you cant dwell on that shit man, just go after it!  This one will surely send the fight fans home happy but I am not happy with having to call a winner, I have been here before and been called out on it rightfully so, but I think the fact Luciano has never had to defend a takedown will be his undoing as No will drag him down and score a boring yet effective UD

265+ lbs Torrasso Fisticuffs v Brook Brokovsky

Next up we are going to see a pair of giants enter the cage as undefeated Muay Thai specialist Torrasso Fisticuffs looks to shut the lights of Michael Bisbing wanna be Brook Brokovsky out.  Fisticuffs has a Big Right Hand that is known to cause serious brain damage, especially during his unsanctioned backyard fight days.  Not much footage exists of those battles but we hear brutal is not the word one would use.  Whether the fight is at range or in the clinch Fisticuffs lands at just over 50% of the time and that’s all he needs, because when he touches you up your lights go out!  Brokovsky has enjoyed a successful career thus far however he did taste the bitterness of defeat in his last trip to the cage at IXF IV when he was skunked in all his offensive attempts before needing the ref to step in and save his ass from further punishment.  Using his huge reach and height advantage Brokovsky has been very successful with his offensive attacks both at range and in the clinch to go with an impressive 80%+ success rate with his takedowns however in this one, he will be hard pressed to lean solely his intelligence as he will need to add in a wing and a prayer to come out the victor!  Both guys badly need to hit the laundromat as their clothes are getting severely ratty and may play a role in the outcome here but I am calling it here as this one doesn’t last longer then 1 round and Fisticuffs ends it in dramatic fashion looking to add to his KOTN swag.

205 lbs  Johnny Cannons v Abdul Kadir

Next up is a battle between a pair of Light heavyweight fighters looking to get back to the winning ways from earlier in their careers.  When faced with greatness and a shot at IXF Gold, both these guys crumbled under the pressure!   This one features a Muay Thai/Wrassler mix in Cannons throwing down with a BJJ Brown belt in Kadir.  Cannons is clearly a bleeder with some pop in his hands, as long as he can defend against the strikes he is never out of any fight however he did show in his last fight he is susceptible to submissions and I am sure Kadir will be out to expose that early.  Through 3 career fights thus far Cannons only likes to deploy a boxing offensive a gameplan he has deployed effectively while at range, however when taken into the clinch he was easily dragged to the floor and will be looking to avoid a similar fate in this one at all costs.  Meanwhile Kadir has thrown out some low success punch attempts in his previous trips to the cage both at range and within the clinch, however he did enjoy the most success when dragging his opponent to the ground from within the clinch in his only attempt.  I have a feeling he has watched the fight tape closely and will be looking for a similar window of opportunity in this one knowing that’s where he holds the advantage.  With this type of matchup it could go either way, and I expect to see Cannons come out guns a blazing earning a flash KO and compete for the KOTN award

205 lbs  Savage Opress v Diamond Hand

Up next we have a Light Heavyweight battle that pits the Wonderful Muay Thai fighter Opress against Wonderful wrassler Hand.  Opress comes into this one undefeated in both his professional fights under the IXF banner, both victories were 1st round finishes brought on by his Big Right Hand.  Opress likes to pick his opponents apart at range where he enjoys successful punches but has yet to attempt any kicking strikes but where he is most dangerous is when inside the clinch where he is yet to miss an offensive strike attempt.  Will Opress prefer to put his height and reach advantage to work or will he look to take this one into the clinch where he likes to maul his opponents?  Facing off on the other side of the cage is Diamon Hand who is making his promotional debut following a 1-1 record in the now defunct Colossus MMA Fight Promotion.  In his pro debut he suffered an early submission defeat against recently signed Phuck Yermotha and then made up for that defeat with a first round stoppage just past the 4:00 mark.  Coming into his last fight he showed he is very confident and his stats prove that point landing at over 80% of his head strike attempts.  Thus far in his career he does not seem to have put his wrestling to work, perhaps tonight is the night he will show off that skillset?  I am not sure however he will have enough to continue his winning ways as I expect Opress to make quick work of him with a KO victory

135 lbs BJ Killoshaw v Squeaky Sneakers

The final fight of our main card is a fight that was put together last minute after previous opponents went MIA.   Killoshaw comes in tonight making his professional debut within IXF and reports we have received anonymously tell us he is already looking past Sneakers as he does not feel he is much of a challenge at all.  Killoshaw will enjoy a slight height/reach advantage but we wonder if his spread-out skill set will be his undoing in his career.  Killoshaw has the advantage in the fact he can scout Sneakers 2 fights and will have an idea of what to expect coming his way whereas Sneakers will be coming in blind and merely guessing what to expect.  Based on Primary skills Killoshaw holds a slight Boxing advantage to go with a bigger Muay Thai advantage however is under the gun in the wrestling department.  When looking at Sneakers, he is a bleeder through and through who showed an ability to dominate a BJJ fighter early in his debut when he controlled the pace of action and kept currently undefeated Bantamweight standout Takeshi Yuudai wondering what he was doing wrong until the 3rd round of their fight when he could not defend the takedown and was quickly subbed out.  For sure a demoralizing outcome considering how well he faired in the first portion of the fight however considering the superior manager he was up against not at all surprising.  Knowing he did not want to see history repeat itself he was not going to waste any time in his follow up appearance ending his opponent’s night just past the 1:00 mark of the first round, erasing the questions raised in his first appearance.  Even though we are dealing with the unknown, I prefer to look at what I do, and Sneakers,  though a total bum will be sure to end this one as early as possible and eliminate and possible repeat performances.
