 Highlands Top Ten Countdown

Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to present you with a short view of Highlands current top ten as of May 26th 2021. This list is comprised of absolute beasts and hopefully creates a little more excitement for everyone as they look to watch these guys perform. I am a huge fan of so many of these guys and I hope after you check them out you will be too! I look forward to watching them fight, most of them will be in the next couple days. I am Tycoon Hec and here is your May Top Ten Countdown!

1. “Revolver Ocelot” Adam Shalashaska (8-0)

The Highlands Welterweight Champion is a brazilian jiu jitsu phenom! This guy has 7 of his 8 wins ending in the very first round by submission. Adam has a strong preference of getting a hold of an arm forcing his opponents to submit immediately. He is almost another caliber of a submission artist. The current brown belt is seeking to obtain his Black belt, but for now he is training at Tez’s stand and bang where he only rolls with his teammates about once a week. Shalashaska has a tendency to pull guard and work from the bottom and when he competes against ground and pound specialists, he almost welcomes them into his guard. I believe we will see Revolver Ocelot's toughest test in the next few days as he takes on the Crusher, Maurice Tillet. You can catch that match-up at Hiyashis Lounge on the 30th!

2. Adrik Slabhead Mihaylov (5-0)

Undoubtedly one of the most dangerous men in Highland, the newly crowned heavyweight champion sits at our number two p4p Highland list as our number 2 but the way he performs we may eventually see him at the number one spot. Adrik forces his opponents into the clinch holding them there against their will and uses ferocious knees blasting his opponents to sleep. Within all five fights he has had none of his opponents have made it out of the first round, and only one of those five has made it past the second minute with him. Slabhead has been training at Hardcore Island MMA and is managed by Master Leader. The Romanian heavyweight takes on the 26 year old Croation knockout artist Pjetlic in a couple days which is sure to see someone get sparked!

3. Noel Diaz (6-0)

The submission king. 4 time submission of the night winner and the first ever Double Champ, Noel Diaz has submitted every single opponent he has gone against and talked crap through the entire duration of the fight. Diaz, a brown belt who trains at Island Project was the former bantamweight champion of Highland before moving up to featherweight and snatching the title away from Ron Johnson. Noel, who is usually seen in the forums creating mental warfare against his opponents, has no problem talking trash and backing it up against anyone. I had the chance to attend his afterparty after his last fight and in between his slurring of words I think I understood him to say, “They know what the real money fight is.” Diaz who now looks to defend the title will do so against Remi Chavaski a fighter who also began his professional career at bantamweight. The two submission artists will put it all on the line tomorrow night and fight fans are in for a grappling treat!

4. Vai Crackudo (5-0)

Vai Crackudo may be the scariest looking guy I have ever seen inside the cage but he certainly is scary for the families of the fighters he competes against. This guy throws punches that are straight from the depths of hell! This guy has the ability to knockout his opponents within the first 30 seconds of the fight. His quick improvement in his skill set has been recognized by his coaches at Muay Thai and BJJ Clinchwork where he trains on a regular basis with some elite level talent. Having just recently won his title from one of the best middleweights Highland has ever had in Cathair Mckay, Crackudo now takes on one of the biggest challenges in his career as he will be facing what may feel like himself in Keke Kivi tomorrow night.

5. Ed “The Detective” Green (7-1)

Hailing from New York, the Islands Lightweight Champion is a submission finisher in every sense of the word. Green will work submission after submission until he finally locks one in. This guy is crazy talented and holds a wild aggressive technique that sees almost everyone he goes against crumble before him. Ed Green is surely one of those fighters that fight fans tune into watch because of his non-stop pace and the way he forces people to tap out regularly. He currently does not have a fight scheduled but a dream match up of mine would be to see Miguel Souza, the former featherweight champion and spectacular submission specialist, move up in weight to challenge the champion that is Green!

6. Kazuo Takashi (6-0)

The 26 year old fan favorite Catch Wrestler out of Kyoto Japan has just successfully defended his bantamweight title for the first time after winning it at Highland 45! Kazuo was previously ranked at our number 10 spot and has jumped to the number 6 spot after his victory that took just under three minutes to cement. Kazuo, who trains side by side with Noel Diaz, is considered by many to be a future legend of the sport and pound for pound goat. Takashi has submitted all 6 of his opponents, four of which were in the first round. I am hoping we see Millard Masters get a chance at the title once again against Takashi if he should beat his opponent on Sunday night.

7. Torhte “Gingy Bear” Finlayson (6-0)

Another one of my absolute favorite fighters in all of Highland is Gingy Bear! The knockout sensation that could make the walls of Jericho fall has finished all of his opponents with what seems to be explosives in his hands. Originally from Scotland, Gingy Bear shifted his way down to the Island in hopes of attaining glory and attaining glory is what he has been doing thus far. Friday night Gingy Bear will be taking on Melvin Manhoof, a ground and pound fighter who hopes to end the amazing run of Finlayson.

8. Titus Lesnar (5-1)

The former champion who dominated his opponents Titus Lesnar comes in at our number eight spot and man does he deserve it. An absolute machine in the cage, the Atlanta native has a force that is unlike almost any other fighter we have seen in the cage! This guy imposes his will on any fighter that squares off against him. Titus Lesnar has been currently recovering since his most recent match against Slabhead but looks to get back in there next week against Justice Turner with hopes of getting his title back. This ground and pound specialist brings nothing but excitement for fight fans when he shows up.

9. Needle Dick (9-1)

Dick, the former heavyweight champion, is looking to get his second win in a row after losing his title against Lesnar at Highland 41. This guy is a walking highlight reel. Every Time he steps in the cage he seeks to take his opponents heads off! The guy is such a fearsome opponent it has been rumored that top heavyweights have refused to fight him. Dick, originally from Louisiana, walks around at 278lbs of almost certain muscle. He is such a fan favorite and is regularly active on social media that it is worth following him! You can check out Dicks next performance when he takes on Ricky Thompson on Sunday Night!

10. Murtaz Vatsadze (6-1)

Murtaz Vatsadze is one of those fighters that everyone loves. When this guy comes into the cage you know it's about to be a fight. With all but two of his fights ending in the first round, Murtaz is the definition of a trained assassin. This guy has hands that will make everyone cower in their corner. The light heavyweight warrior originally from Georgia is running through the division on a three fight win streak with knockouts all coming in the first round. Personally, I would love to see him get another shot at the title especially if it is against Finlayson but only time will tell!

Want a challenge? Successfully predict one fighter who makes it to the top ten by this time next month and you could win your fighter an Interview before their upcoming fight. Good luck and we will see you at the fights tomorrow!
