Juan Corona, from Free Agent to Champion

Fighter profile of Juan Corona by Not Skenoj

When I got dropped by my first manager I felt like my career and life was over, that was like a heart attack, fast and unexpected. After a few days with no management team and no place to train I found a new home, a new manager, a new team, a family. The new manager told me I have to leave everything behind and move to a new country, I felt like I got rocked in the octagon when he told me that, I told him let me think for a bit and I will get back to you.... after one day, I decided to leave everything behind and focus on myself because everyone left me when they saw me on the ground, with no money, no income, no job, I was close to become homeless. Marius got me a private flight for me to move to Montreal where I been told I have everything set up, contract, gym, money and my future is in my hands.

After training and sparring at the new gym with my new family for almost one month, I got a fight offer, I accepted it without thinking, that fight got me back up, I went there and perform like a beast, finished my opponent in first round, under 2 minutes. After one month, I had to fight again, this time I had to go in there with a former Checkmate Champion, that fight was close, I won first round, lost second round to him, but I was lucky to have a great team and put me in the right place and reset my mindset, there was one more round, 5 minutes, my opponent tried to keep me in clinch and dominate me against cage, I was able to escape every time he tried to hold me against cage and control me so he can get the last round, won that fight 29-28 UD. The fight before my title fight, the third fight, another month, another fight for me, this time was against former WCF Champion who defended his belt 6 times, I felt no pressure with the team I had behind my back, I prepared for this fight at 150%, I had to show my skills and show that I deserve the title shot, so the fight went like this, first round rocked my opponent with a cross but I wasn't able to finish him, second round went back and fourth, starting the battle and countering his strikes, third one, my opponent got me in the clinch, he tried to snap my head with uppercuts, but I got him with the moves he tried to put me to sleep, landed an uppercut that hurt him, then I landed a big right hand and dropped him, got the mount and smashed him, the referee had to pull me before I almost killed him, after that fantastic win, I called out the champion, WCF management got me the title shot without a problem, they saw that I deserved that and I've been dominated everyone they put in front of me. Last fight, the title fight, as you can see, I dominated my opponent from first round to the fifth round, but I am disappointed as I said on Buzz because I wasn't able to knock him out, I respect the toughness from him.

Now, me and my team will try to get a fight for that 145 belt, I want to become double champ. I deserve that.

Thank you for listening to me! If I have to announce or update you on my situation, this will be the place!

Chase your dreams, never give up! Hard work pays off!!!!!
