Hello Syn Fight fans! All the way from Japan this weekend we have an amazing night of fights that we get to witness and I can not wait. One being the highly anticipated rubber match and the other is for Team Panda Gold! The two welterweights square off in the main event for what is undoubtedly aimed to be one bloody war. The Co-main event sees the Lightweight Title on the line as Cole looks to get his seventh straight victory and avenge his loss against the current Champion, Reinikain! Lets get into it.

  (C) Reinikain vs. Cole (2)
Lightweight Championship  Live from the Tokyo Bowl, in two days time the Lightweight Championship of the world will be on the line as two best lightweights in the world go head to head in what is actually their rubber match. These two phenoms first met back in Skrap Fights 64 and then met a second time at Skrap Fights 94. In their first matchup, we saw a heavy one sided victory for Reinikain who scored his way to victory with his punches in bunches. 30 Skrap events later, they met for a rematch that to this day is a heated topic to bring up. Both fighters feel strongly that they deserved the win that night and neither received that from the judges. Finally, in a five round fight after over two years since the last time they met, they come face to face and for the most coveted piece of hardware around, Syn Silver.

Riding high on a six fight win streak, finishing four of his opponents in the very first round, it would not be a surprise if we see Cole come out as the aggressor looking for an emphatic stamp of victory over Reinikain. The chances of that do seem slim as we have only seen Reinikain go down once before by knockout by one of the most hellacious head kicks I have ever seen. James "Clubber" Cole will have to play this fight smart knowing that what goes down this weekend is not likely to end in the first round but rather go all five rounds. In his last match, Cole took on Mazziotti, the former Syn Champion and went all five rounds with him. The fight stayed on the feet the entire time and we witnessed one of the biggest beatdowns we have ever seen. Cole is one hundred percent the real deal.

Reinikain knows deep down that he has the ability to defeat Cole, he has done it once before and arguably had done it twice. Reinikain has a tendency to prefer fights going the distance against his opponents and may very well look to take this fight all five rounds as well to defeat Cole in every round and put an end to the rivalry between these two. I went out to visit Reinikains camp and his Muay Thai trainer shared with me how Cole has been stopped before and that  Reinikain will not actually be looking for a five round war rather he will look to stop him with a barrage of strikes. As i watched him work the bag his team continued shouting at him that he was the champ and hyping him up with each strike he landed. For me, I understood one thing from that and that's Reinikain will be throwing an obscene amount of strikes at Clubber.

This Championship grudge match has all the makings of a classic. They will both go in there and strike till the other falls. Expect everything from head kicks to body punches. Expect the clinch game to be a massive factor. This fight will be all around the cage and in my opinion neither of these two dogs will let up until the referee informs them the fifth round has come.

  (1) Peterson vs. Crosby (2)  Welterweight Matchup

Dylan Peterson vs Dany Crosby is one of those matchups that as fight fans, we have been waiting for, for a very long time. The two Team Panda alliance members will be coming face to face in a showdown that will undoubtedly be electrifying. Despite losing to Herb Krison recently, Dylan Peterson has been looking better than ever in his career putting on exciting fights and getting the win when it was needed most. His upcoming opponent, Dany Crosby, the former two division champion, has not seen his return to glory for a while now. In fact, some critics are wondering if the 39 year old from Ottawa still has it in him to compete.

Once praised for his sensational knockouts, Dany Crosby who has finished 30 of his 32 wins by knockout, has not been as consistent as of late. I decided to meet up with Crosby and see where his mind was at in this stage of his career. He shared with me that despite being good friends with Peterson, a fellow Canadian, this fight is purely business. He aims to step in there and get the job done and if that means walking away with a knockout then that is what it means. He promised that no matter if he won or lost that Peterson will remain his friend and they will continue to strive for greatness.

On my way home from meeting with one of the Syn Goats, I decided to call up Peterson. I spoke with him a little about hockey because he really likes hockey but then he shared with me that he has always looked up to Crosby and that in a strange way this match is kind of like a dream. He believes this fight will be a 5 round war and both guys will at some point be rocked.

When comparing these two talented fighters one thing is clear, this fight will stay on the feet. I do not expect we will see much grappling in any form and I think both fighters will be having the weight of the world on their shoulders. Team Panda has two of the very best welterweights colliding and despite what the odds makers may think, this fight could very easily go either way.
