The Sandman, Darsin Bleak

Fighter profile of Darsin Bleak by Outlaw Bleak

Darsin Bleak has been on one hell of a journey.  Little brother to Wulfgang Bleak, he was expected to have to try and live up to his brothers name.  Little did the world know, Darsin would go on to be the looming shadow over the family name for years to come.

Growing up in a small town in Texas, Darsin didn't have a lot of things to put his energy or effort into.  He played football in high school and was a bulldozing running back that lead his team to the state championship.  His speed was insane but his he played bigger than his size.  College scouts took notice, but ultimately, he never earned a scholarship.  He also dabbled in wrestling in high school, but the program was shut down to allocate funding to the new soccer team.  A team which sucks, by the way.

After high school, and not having the money to pay for college, Darsin took a job at a local grocery store called Baywoods Foods.  He was a sacker and delivery driver for the local shrimp boat orders that flooded the store every day.  In doing this, he met some interesting people but was bored and not making enough to support himself and he was tired of living with a room mate.

He found a local guy who claimed he had ties to the "Street Beefs" circuit and that he should give them a go.  He said those guys are all amateurs and he could probably do well there.  If nothing else, it's a chance to pick up a sponsor to earn a few bucks or maybe even get him into a gym so that he can try to bulk up and walk onto a smaller college football team.
After a few fights, he found he loved the thrill of the hunt.  Everyone underestimated him because of his size, but after he put a few guys to sleep, people started saying that his opponents would wake up from a nightmare, earning him the nickname "Sandman."  He never got a sponsorship, but he did catch the attention of Outlaw Hardman who was previously mentored his older brother.  Seeing the raw talent and how focused Darsin was, he offered him a free membership at his gym and told him if he wanted to clean the place up at night, he could live in the back room free of charge.

Obviously, Darsin took him up on this offer and he started putting in work.  He already had a solid fundamental wrestling background, but he quickly honed in his BJJ arts as that seemed to be his bread and butter on "Street Beefs."  Early on, he followed his brothers footsteps and joined WPFA where he popped off 5 submission victories in a row, the last earning him the belt.  He defended it once before WPFA closed shop.

Now, having a little cash in his pocket, he decided to get his own place and focus on fighting and training full time.  This was his job, his future, his passion.  After that first TKO victory, he realized that he enjoyed inflicting pain and started working on other aspects of his game.  Shortly after, he joined GAMMA contenders where he won the top contender spot with a vicious KO victory setting up his title fight.  He continued his winning ways, earning another belt before moving on to another org to face higher level competition.  This is where he started his current journey in Blaze Brothers, formerly known as BBFC.

There's a lot more to this story as Sandman has racked up win after win and now finds himself as one of the top lightweight fighters in the world and holding the longest active undefeated win streak of any active fighter know today.  His name is starting to be known across the world, and it's a path we will follow as his career progresses.
