 Dynasty MMA Weekend recap 11/13

Great weekend for fights as DMMA took over the H20 Arena in London for back-to-back fight cards.

DMMA Friday Night Fights XIII Saw two big fights that had Title implications in the Main and Co-Main events.

Edward Grubbs upsets former Middleweight champion Ray Luciano via Unanimous Decision

Luciano decided to test his grappling skills in this encounter, unfortunately he struggled to keep the fight on the mat. Grubbs was not the most accurate fighter I've seen but he was the aggressor and it proved to be a big factor. Mix that in with Edwards ability to shut down the Clinch and grappling of Luciano and Grubbs cruised to victory.

Edward is now 6-1 in his second run with DMMA and will next face another former MW champ in Kareem Johnson in what will likely be his toughest test to date. With a potential Title shot riding on this one, the time is now for Mr. Grubbs.

Ramone Rocksaw spoils the debut Omer Demirci with a "KO of the Night" performance.

Rocksaw opened up a cut on the former ENIGMA MW title challenger Demirci, which played a huge factor in Ramone's pinpoint accuracy I would imagine. This win led to Ramone's 12th Performance bonus of his career and what a beauty it was as he Suderman'd that Ho. Omer Demirci did not have the debut he wanted I'm sure but there is still a ton of potential in this kid in my humble opinion.

Rocksaw has now won 5 of his last 6 fights and will look to get another big-time matchup at MW as he continues to inch closer and closer to getting back in the title picture.

Yar Bol bounces back with a Vicious KO of Dynasty Hall of Famer Charles Tucker.

Bol clipped Tucker late in round 2 and Charles may have not fully recovered in between rounds. Round 3 begins and BAMMMMMM....5 seconds in Yar Bol tags him with a Viciously vicious Hook that sent Tucker into a state of F##ked. Charles Tucker is still the most Dominant Light Heavyweight champ in Dynasty History and always brings the excitement to the cage, but now 4-6 in his last ten fights the question is will we see Tucker at the top again. His time of redemption would have to start now i would say if we ever see "Trip" as champion again.

Meanwhile another big win for Bol who has won 4 of his last 5 fights. Bol meets Dick Dennison next on 2022-12-03.

Co-Main Event

Ansis Kaupens defeats Kazuki Takeda by Unanimous Decision

After a slow start former Middleweight champ Ansis Kaupens found a way to neutralize the Ground game of a game Kazuki Takeda. Takeda took the first round with relentless Takedowns, landing three in the opening round which kept Ansis from getting any offense in. Kaupens though began to time his foes Takedowns early in round two which would ultimately wear Takeda down and earn him the victory.

Ansis will now fight for the Belt once again, against the man he beat previously for the title Macca Outback. For one man it's a shot at regaining his belt, for the other it will be a chance to avenge a previous loss while defending his newly captured title.

Main Event

Jason Hightower annihilates Patrick Kearney on the grand stage.

The Former King of the Heavyweight Division got himself back on track in Brutal fashion Friday night in London. Hightower had a big scare right as the fight began as Patrick Kearney countered a kick with a nicely timed Right hand that put Jason down just 10 seconds into the fight. Hightower quickly cleared those cobwebs and brought the fight to the clinch where he overwhelmed Kearney. The end came at just 2 minutes and 28 seconds into the fight as Hightower unloaded a Uppercut the put Patrick in a different time zone.

Next up for Hightower is a showdown with the current Heavyweight champ Adan Puno at DMMA 155. This DMMA 155 event is shaping up nicely and this Heavyweight Title fight will be one for the ages.

DMMA 152 went down yesterday at a jampacked H20 Arena, with two big Title fights on display.

Kratos Karumaa defeats Frank Rizzo in a back-and-forth battle at Bantamweight.

Kratos has looked excellent since his conversion to Finnishism going 2-1 under the guidance of Marky Mark. t wasn't an easy battle this Saturday night though as Frank Rizzo found much success with his takedowns as the two fighters head into the final round 1-1. Kratos did a good job of keeping himself out of any serious danger on the ground and proved to be the better striker as the two exchanged on the feet, in route to a Unanimous Decision verdict in his favor.

Kratos Karumaa has a potential title fight in the works against Marko Kersikov. This would be a rematch as the two fought in a non-title fight previously with the current Bantamweight champ Kersikov taking a UD.

Cormac Mac Airt outshines Galen Dall Jr as the two fight the full 15 minutes.

We saw two predominately ground fighters stand and bang for the majority of this fight as Mac Airt edged out Galen Dall Jr. Both men managed to score a takedown in the fight, but they clearly were looking to showcase their standup in this fight. In the end Cormac's volume and accuracy proved to be superior as he took a Unanimous Decision.

This fight was Cormacs first fight under his new management team and is now riding a 3-fight win streak. There is a fight under contract for Mac Airt but it has not been finalized yet.

Devonte Pinks outduels Shape Shifter in 3 round decision

Pinks outclassed Shifter on the feet, but Shifter clearly wasn't looking to box with "The War Cat". The BJJ Red belt was furious with his Takedowns and though he managed to control Pinks in the final frame it was too little too late as Shifter struggled to use any offense on the mat. Pinks lost that final round but showed his defensive grappling style can shut down even the top level BJJ artist.

Devonte is now 7-3 since his last Title challenge and if he can gain one more W, Pinks may very well be fighting for the belt for a third time. Nothing yet is lined up for Devonte but be ready cause the War cat will be back in the DMMA cage real soon.

Lightweight Championship

Jesse Pinkman successfully defends his title against former champion Aubrey Grant

Pinkman utilized all of his tools as he took a 5-rounder winning 4 of 5 rounds in route to a clear Decision victory over the former dominant champion Aubrey Grant. Grant was having more success with his kicks than his fist in this fight, but he could not get any real Rythm in as Pinkman continued to drag the fight to the clinch and to the mat. Jesse also held his own in the standup as he makes his first Title defense at Lightweight.

This sets up a showdown between Jesse Pinkman and DMMA Welterweight champ Jaxon Magrath at DMMA 156. What an opportunity for both of these men, for Pinkman it's a chance to beat the most Dominate fighter in Dynasty History and solidify his spot at the top of the p4p ranks. For Magrath just another feather under the cap of a guy whose credentials speak for themself.

Featherweight Championship

Renji Abarai edges Title Challenger Koa Bouddi for his 4th successful title defense

No grappling was needed in the Highlight fight of the Weekend that saw 4-time DMMA Featherweight champion outpoint Rising prospect Koa Bouddi. Bouddi proved he was ready for the deep waters of DMMA with his performance this weekend in London.  Bouddi was the much more accurate striker with his kicks in particular, but his Elbows in the clinch may have been his best weapon as he cut "The champ" up pretty good. Rengi though would not be upset as he nearly doubled Koa's strike count in route to a Unanimous Decision. This fight was awarded "Fight of the Night" and in fact was the fight of the Weekend.

This was Abarai's 13th Title fight of his career and let's give the man his props while he awaits his next challenge. In a losing effort hats off to Koa Bouddi hell of challenge indeed and with a little more time and expert training look for this youngster to continue to shine in the sport.

DMMA is in full force right now with The Dynasty Contenders promotion continuing to grow, thanks to the hard work form Crazy Horse. As we head to the end of 2022 big plans are in store, starting with some huge Title fights to come as we close out the year. There also will be an announcement towards the end of the year as DMMA will induct are first 5 Managers into the Dynasty Hall of Fame. 2023 will be a breakout year for DMMA and we will kick it off with a huge event DMMA 160 Live in Sydney!
