Colby Taylor rising to the top

Fighter profile of Colby Taylor by Thomas Forrester

The PA team at KIFC had a chance to sit down with Cobly Taylor this week and speak to the Bantamweight champ. Here is what he had to say.

Colby you are 6-0 (1-0) in the KIFC, the #4 P4P fighter on the island and the #1 Bantamweight and you cleaned out your weight class in the QFCs and have fought 1 fighter in the KIFC. Who do you want to face next?
Colby: "#4 P4P and rising!!!! I am the most entertaining fighter on The Island and the one the fans come to see because I finish fights! 3 finishes in under 32 seconds! Only one guy has made it out of the first round! Doesn't really matter who is next.... I am a different breed and when you stare across that cage at me, you had better understand that you are in for the test of your life. This is the jungle and I will prove why I am its king!"

We agree you are on the rise and have been tapping people out in record time, but is there anyone in the division that you’re afraid of? That you think will be a tough fight is a better question?
Colby: "Nobody is going to scare me. I am the tough fight at 135.... I am the one that the rest of the division should be scared of! 6-0! #1 Bantamweight on the Island! Your lucky to get out of the first round with me! There are some good fighters up and down the Bantamweight division but they will all fall once they meet me! I am the Alpha male at 135!!!!"

You have been making this look easy. What motivated you to be a fighter?
Colby: " I love this game. I always have. This is all I think about. Its all I do. Ever single action I take and decision I make is about being the best. There is just something very primal and raw about being locked in a cage with another human being that wants to hurt you.... and making him bend to your will! Breaking him physically and mentally to the point where he has to admit that you are superior and submit to you."

Not sure I would call being locked in a cage a game. You are a larger 135lber do you plan to stay at 135 your whole career or move up to 145?
Colby: " Yeah I am a big 135er but I think that just gives me some options that once I clear out 135 and get bored we can move up to 145 and clear out that weight class as well. Who knows... if I cant find any competition at 135 or 145 then maybe we even discuss putting on some weight and taking 155 as well."

Fighting in three weight classes during a career, that is normally something you only see boxers do.  Are do you aspire to be a champ in two weight classes at the same time?
Colby: "Yeah I could definetly see this season ending with me holding two belts for sure! Who knows... Like I said... maybe I even make a cameo appearance at 155 to see what Oystenteller is saying? Find out who the real alpha shit is and take that belt too!"

Man, Oystenteller is a beast I would pay to see that fight. Right now you are a fan favorite, is there anything you want to say to your fans or your haters?
Colby: "Thanks for your support! Everytime I make the walk and see that sea of red and white... it takes my energy to another level that cant be beaten! It drives me to put on an entertaining fight. My fans didnt pay to watch two guys circle each other for 25 minutes or lay on each other for 25 minutes. They want to see finishes! They want to see Colby Taylor force the opponent to his will! Quick work and highlight finishes! Thats what my fans want and that what I am going to give them! We are on a trip to the top of The Island and  no one can stop us!!"

As always we love talking to the champ and look forward to his next fight. Which Thomas Forrester says will be the winner between Stan Man and Toshiro Hitsugaya on the 19th of Feb.
