The Pride of Suriname ready to shock the world

Fighter profile of Clarence Hoost by Chris Karter

Clarence Hoost (19-6-0) is the #6 ranked Heavyweight in the world, set to take on the #1 Heavyweight Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (53-12-0) for the illustrious SYN Heavyweight championship.

Hoost's opponent Kilo is a fighter that needs no introduction. The first ever back-to-back Fighter of the Year, and a future first ballot Hall of Famer, the accolades and accomplishments that the product of Convicted Fight Club has achieved are miles longer than his upcoming adversary.
Clarence Hoost origin story begins in Suriname. Suriname is a tiny but diverse country on the northern coast of South America, with a rich history and culture.
It was colonized by the Dutch, who brought African slaves and later indentured workers from India, Indonesia, and China, creating a multilingual and multiethnic society.
Suriname gained independence in 1975, but faced political turmoil, military coups, and a civil war that lasted until 1992, when democracy was restored.
Suriname's economy relies on its natural resources, especially bauxite, gold, and oil, but also faces challenges such as deforestation, corruption, and poverty. Hoost refused to acknowledge the crime rate when pressed by the media, instead focusing on his hometown Brokopondo.
"Brokopondo is a beautiful place." Hoost says. "But there is a lot of suffering. Growing up there, made me who I am today. My biggest fans are from the city of Brokopondo."
Brokopondo is the capital town of the Brokopondo District, Suriname. It is located on the west shore of the Suriname river, just north of the Afobaka dam. Brokopondo can be reached via the Afobakaweg from Paranam to Afobaka.
Nearby is a granite monument made by sculptor Jo Rens, displaying two men: one standing with a parrot and one sitting and writing. It is meant to symbolize the past and the future. A place that Hoost visits regularly when he's in his homeland. There is also a large beach next to the Suriname river near the city centre. A beach that Hoost used to run up and down every day in his youth.
"I ran many miles next to the river. That is why my cardio is elite."
He's not much of a talker, and he lets his fist do the talking for him. Clarence Hoost has somewhat quietly etched a name for himself as a heavy hitting knockout artist, having won all of his professional fights by way of knockout, 19 to be exact. He enters fights with a kill-or-be-killed mentality, and the only time he's seen the cards in his career have been during the first two test fights of his career, during 1 round hidden farming events by his manager Jack King, designed to weed out the meek and feint hearted from potential future champions. A common yet controversal practice amongst the world's most elite managers these days.
Jack King credited the chin of Clarence Hoost as the prominent feature that stood out from his fighter during those two events, but little did he know that he had a future knockout artist in his gym at King's Cross MMA.
It didn't take long for his coach to figure it out though, as Clarence Hoost tore through the competition on the local circuit, rallying off 9 straight knockout victories enroute to a title shot at the Blaze Brothers organization against Beau Abner, who was a 14-1 champion at the time of their bout.
Althought Hoost came up short in his first attempt at a championship, he showed a champion's mettle, getting knocked down and rocked early in the fight and beaten to a bloody pulp - he refused to go down - and the doctor had to step in to examine a nasty cut that resulted in a fight stoppage.
It was the first legitimate loss in Clarence Hoost young career, but the 26 year old responded with a big knockout over John Okafer which earned him another shot at the title, this time against Kjetil Olsen.
The first round was dominated by Hoost, knocking Olsen down, but his 225 cm opponent managed to send Hoost to his corner a bloodied mess. That didn't deter Hoost from coming out in the 2nd round and landing a picture perfect right hand that sent Olsen to the canvas, out cold and into free agency, officially crowning Clarence Hoost as the new Heavyweight champion of the Blaze Brothers Organization.
Unsurprisingly, after going 12-2 and winning his last 11 fights by way of knockout, the big leagues came calling and Clarence Hoost signed to SYN.
Unfortunately his jump into the big leagues didn't go his way, getting matched up with the far more experienced 23-6 Yago Steve, and the Brazilian beat the shit out of his fellow South American with a first round TKO. That loss, to this day, remains the only time Clarence Hoost has been finished by strikes.
While Hoost officially has 5 losses on his resume by (T)KO, 4 of them were cut stoppages enforced by the cage side physician.
During his time at SYN, Hoost has racked up a respectable 7-4 record, but has added some really big names to his hitlist: Conor the Barbarian, Beau Abner x2, Billy Bob Brown, and Aleksei Babinski, earning 2 knockout of the night awards in the process.
After winning the trilogy by knocking out his rival Beau Abner, and putting former Combate Heavyweight champ Billy Bob Brown away with strikes, Clarence Hoost now finds himself in the #1 contender position, booked against the current champion Kilo Maluga.
Will he fare better than his fellow YABAI brethren? That remains to be seen, but one thing we can count on is a knockout finish between these two titans as they clash.
