Georgian-born fighter says revenge fueled his fires

Fighter profile of Marko Jankovic by Antonio Hernandez

"Georgian-born MMA fighter says revenge fueled his fire, used past losses to motivate himself during training."

One of Odense MMA's most electric strikers has gone on record saying revenge is his motivation. Marko "The Sniper" Jankovic (16-4-0) has confirmed that he used his losses to prior opponents as bulletin board material to push himself through rigorous training while harrowing in on violent fantasies of revenge.

"I'm sick in the head man. The things I envision myself doing to the opponent are too violent for words. I want to liver kick my opponent, lock him in a neck crack, and soccer kick him onto the railroad tracks to see him get ran over by a moving train. I set my sights on an enemy and lock in. I wait in the shadows. Waiting. Waiting. And when I get my opportunity, I strike, hit them right between the eyes. Kaboom. Dead. There goes my opponent's head."

Marko said all this through a shady Russian interpreter, so the translation can be considered shoddy at best. However it is very believable that the Georgian-born native is using his prior losses to fire him up during training camp. That is a tactic not unusual to any professional athlete in competitive sports. It's like the late Tupac Shakur said in his infamous lyrics "Revenge is the sweetest joy next to getting p*ssy".

Marko's fantasies are about to come true, as he is currently booked to face one of the few opponents who have bested him in combat sports, a Dark Elf known as Drizzt Do Urden (31-14-0) who hails from the Forgotten Realms, a land far, far away.

"This is a dream come true. When I meet this elf at the weigh ins, I will stare into his soul. I will establish dominance right then and there with my fierce gaze. He will feel my energy and later he will endure my wrath. Boom. Headshot. Incoming."

Another shoddy interpretation later and Marko has already set the tone of his next fight with expectations of violent ambitions. After coming up short in a welterweight title fight against Czech fighter Gregor Marek (13-0-1), Marko rebounded in a big way by scoring a first round TKO victory over Mental Warrior (18-12-0) to get back into the win column.

Drizzt Do Urden also came up short in his title fight against Gregor Marek as well, sharing the same fate as his opponent. Do Urden is hoping to spoil Jankovic's quest for revenge, but the odds are stacked against him due to Jankovic's youth and double elite boxing and muay thai. Jankovic is flat out the better fighter on paper, and to pull off another victory against the Convicted Top Team contender, Do Urden will need to pull off another big upset.
