C211: Kronos vs McWrestler III

Event Preview: C211: Kronos vs McWrestler III
Combate
2023-07-16, Tokyo, Tokyo Bowl
Author:Chris Karter

Combate has been putting on fire event after fire event, getting fans so excited that they have to change their shorts at least twice every weekend. The fights they've been putting together have been straight fire. The championship bouts that have been taking place have been straight fire. Perhaps this is because the excellent matchmaking ability of Sir Blaze King, a fitting name for the matchmaker considering the job that he has been doing as of late.     Combate 211 is going to be another fire event and headlined with a rivalry that features a trilogy bout between the newly crowned welterweight champion Kronos Doomsday (19-11-0) who is set to take on the former champion Dude McWrestler (29-11-0). Both fighters are TWGC veterans and grappling specialist, and they each split this series with 1 win a piece. However, Doomsday has the advantage as he is coming off a 1st round submission victory over his Pakistani rival that garnered him submission of the night honors, his 7th submission of the night accolade of his career.     Since joining House of 1000 Corpses and signing with Crazy Horse management, Kronos Doomsday has been an absolute machine. Kronos Doomsday was a 7-8 fighter when he walked through those doors, and he had the look of a samurai without a master. After a disasterous debut that saw him get submitted in 30 seconds into round 1, he's gone on an asbolute tear. Doomsday is 12-3 since teaming up with Crazy Horse management and his staff, and he's currently 9-1 in his last 10 bouts, with his only loss coming to Dude McWrestler via UD. The last 3 bouts of Doomsday's career have been incredibly special, as he's collected gold in all 3 contest, twice at Dynasty MMA, and most recently under the Combate banner. Doomsday joined Combate as a 3x Gamma Contender series champion, and the fans had high expectations for him in the welterweight division. Needless to say, he didn't disappoint.     Dude McWrestler is no stranger to championship caliber fights, and his camp is absolutely devastated following his performance against Doomsday back at Combate 208. Despite being considered one of the top grapplers in the world in the welterweight division, Dude McWrestler drops to 5-3 under the Combate banner with this loss to Doomsday, and some fans and pundits are wondering what exactly he did to garner a rematch with the current champ - and for Combate El President Chris Karter, it was a simple answer:     "One word. Trilogy." Chris Karter tells reporters at the fight-week press conference. "Fans love this stuff. So do we. We want to see some closure in this rivalry and we know that both camps are looking forward to proving who the better fight is. Dude McWrestler and Kronos Doomsday are two of the best welterweights on the planet not name Tagnarach Kamara. They are definitely two of the best grapplers on the planet, yet alone the welterweight division. I think this fight is a no-brainer and the fans are gonna love it."       The entire lineup at Combate 208:     170 lbs - Kronos Doomsday v Dude McWrestler (Welterweight Championship) 135 lbs - Johnny Albatross v Lindsay Apollo (Bantamweight Championship)
