With no clearcut Heavyweight title contenders in sight, the Synchronicity rumor mill is stirring lately, and the latest buzz is hinting at the return of a 6-time Heavyweight champion, a mighty midget warrior from Kalix, Sweden, that goes by the name of Leif Lars--- I mean Leif Leifsson. Leif hasn't been seen in ages, over 2 years to be exact, but apparently he's been preparing for a comeback against the Heavyweight kingpin and two-time Fighter of the Year.
"The Viking" Leif Leifsson (30-12 MMA, 12-6 SYN) is probably best known for his bitter rivalry with the legendary GOAT Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (63-14-0 MMA, 50-10 SYN). Both fighters hold 3 wins over the other, but the last time these two collided, it was anti-climatic for both fighters and fans alike, as Kilo starched the midget in 14 seconds to defend the Heavyweight championship.
Kilo hit Leif so hard that the midget had to seriously contemplate retirement, and by the time the Swedish Leif stepped into the cage again, this time against Kjetil Olsen (30-13 MMA, 8-5 SYN) at SYN 970, fans could tell that despite his beast of hiddens, that his heart was half in it. He rocked Olsen early and hugged it out a lot with a man-on-man clinch game, but Olsen weathered the storm and ultimately picked him apart before knocking him into the shadow realm with a lethal high kick in the 3rd round.
Leif Leifsson has a granite chin, KO power, and a high fight IQ. He's not shortage on confidence either, despite being a midget at 170 cm and tipping the scales at a weight of 242 lbs, Leif swings a big ole meat stick. One that he frequently shows off at the weigh ins when he steps on the scale in the nude. Most of his opponents have felt his meat stick during their time in the cage, and 29 of his 30 victories have come by way of TKO or KO.
"I hope he signs the dotted line." Kilo Maluga told the media after his big win over Imperial Washington at SYN 1002, "I want to send that midget into the afterlife once and for all. It's the Bahamas or bust. He would have never beat me in my prime and I'm out to prove that this go around. Last time we met, 14 seconds. Next time, 10 seconds."
Leif Larson--- I mean Leifsson, has yet to make an official statement regarding his comeback tour, but fans and twittersphere are buzzing at the possibility. There is nothing left for the Heavyweight kingpin at SYN, so fans can only hope that the midget comes out of retirement to settle the score with the GOAT once and for all.
