The Diggs Legacy: A Genetically Gifted MMA Family

Editorial by Chris Karter

In the world of mixed martial arts, certain names resonate, leaving an indelible mark on the sport's landscape. One such name is the Diggs family, a lineage of fighters hailing from (mostly) Miami, Florida, who have carved out a legacy of excellence within the unforgiving arena of professional combat. Their journey began at the renowned Convicted Fight Club, a breeding ground for champions, where they learned the art of war and turned it into a family tradition.

At the forefront of the Diggs legacy stands "One Bad Man" Moses Diggs, a pioneer in the light heavyweight division. His remarkable record of 42 wins and 12 losses speaks volumes of his fighter prowess. He was known for his knockout power and amassed 28 knockouts in his career against the very best the light heavyweight division had to offer. At one point he was the 2nd ranked fighter in the world and one of the most feared knockout artist in all the land. Moses conquered multiple championships across promotions like AMW, Konflikt, Blitzkrieg, EMPIRE, and SYN, etching his name in the pantheon of all-time greats.

"It's genetics." Moses claims proudly when asked about the recipe to his family's success in martial arts. "We got extra calf-muscles. We got big (redacted expletive). We got that juice. That sauce. That sizzle. I'm shootin' out winners baby. That's all I ever do."

Continuing the lineage, Orlando Diggs emerged as the next torchbearer. Named after the city of his conception, Orlando's journey through Budo Rei Fight Club's Middleweight division was marked by dominance. He later ascended to SYN's welterweight ranks, where he scripted one of the most captivating eras in the history of the weight class. Second only to the legendary Ricky Rocker, Orlando claimed the coveted title of the #1 pound-for-pound fighter worldwide, culminating in a first-ballot induction into the SYN Hall of Fame. Unlike his father, Orlando Diggs was a technician. He relied on being too fast and too skilled for opponents, out-working them for 25 minutes of combat en route to dominant decision victories.

The prodigious genetics of Moses did not stop with Orlando, as "Playoff" Willie Diggs burst onto the scene. His star soared during the Alliance World Championships, where his strategic prowess turned the regular season's professional sandbagging into a monumental playoff surge. Leading Team Convicted to a resounding victory, Willie's medal-clad triumph was merely a prelude to his RISE Middleweight division reign. With a staggering 15 consecutive wins, Willie stands as a beacon of promise at the tender age of 25. Currently a Free Agent and one of the most coveted on the market, the entire sports world eagerly awaits to see where he signs next.

Matthew Diggs, while not reaching the same heights in the sport, shines as the family's intellectual and charismatic figure. His journey, although marked by a 5-4-0 record, is an integral part of the Diggs story. Matthew's black belt in Jiu-Jitsu distinguishes him in a family that primarily excels in the art of fisticuffs. His ventures, guided by the astute management firm of Cynic Chris, add diversity to the family narrative.

Completing the professional roster is the youngest sibling, Alonzo Diggs. Trained at Primal Concrete Gym under the watchful eye of Jason Smith, Alonzo's one fight might be just the tip of the iceberg. Rumored to possess an unbreakable chin, Alonzo's true potential is yet to be determined as he navigates the intricate world of MMA.

The Diggs legacy, rooted (mostly) in Convicted Fight Club, is a testament to the unyielding dedication, raw talent, and unwavering drive that define their story. From the trailblazing exploits of Moses to the present-day glory of Willie, their journey resonates as an inspiring saga of family, commitment, and unbridled passion for the fight. As they continue to etch their names into the sport's history, the Diggs family remains a shining example of pissing excellence in mixed martial arts.
