“Maybe this will be it,” Miss Miracle said. “Maybe [Combate 240] will be the final time we get to see Mohammed Kahn. Or maybe, [Kurt's] just hyping up the fight so everyone tunes in. Because guess what, you get a percentage of the pay-per-view as a champ. Maybe you put a couple of bull***t statements out there, you get everyone to tune in thinking it’s gonna be the ‘last ever time’. Because that really would be something, the retirement of Mohammed Kahn.”
Miss Miracle certainly isn’t about to fault Deisel for trying to help Kahn score one last big payday before the end of his fighting career, but she also believes that Combate 240 will probably be the end of the road for the all-time great regardless of what was intended by the grappling champion’s recent post.
“So what does that do? That drives up the pay-per-view sales, which puts more dollars in his bank account. I’m not saying that’s what he’s doing, what I’m saying is these are possible eventualities. Possible reasons for why Kurt Deisel did this. Or, maybe he f***ed up. Maybe he was just wrong. Maybe that’s his opinion. I doubt that’s his opinion. Mohammed Kahn probably said ‘I’m gonna hang it up after this’ because that has been rumored.”
The quick victory that Kahn scored at Combate 237 left plenty of questions about how the 36-year-old might fair in another championship fight, and despite the fact that Dracul has already submitted Kahn twice in the first round, many fans are hoping he can provide a more significant challenge in his 3rd opportunity.
The headlining light heavyweight bout at Combate 240 likely would have been enough to generate major fan interest around the event, but the main card is also set to include a matchup for the lightweight belt that features Bong Ji Woo defending his title against division rival Johnny Billabong. It also has featherweight champion Cornelius Myers defending his belt against a surging Mexican featherweight.
