Combate owner Chris Karter assures fans all is not lost for the Combate 241 main event despite the Johnny Albatross vs Yasha Big Mouth fight being pulled after Yasha suffered an injury in camp.
Combate and Convicted Inc El Presidente Chris Karter claims that the potential replacement for the Johnny Albatross and Yasha Big Mouth fight is poised to blow the minds of Combate fans.
"If this main event comes together --- as Blaze said last night he doesn't know if Yasha [Big Mouth] fights --- if they can put together the main event that I'm hearing that is in the works... you guys will actually lose your minds."
A name hasn't been revealed as-of-yet, but two fighters in particular have been on the tongues of pundits everywhere: Kilo Maluga and Mikey Marciano. Kilo makes logical sense since he is a free agent without any bookings, managed by Chris Karter. We all know Kilo loves to make the sacrifice to the blood gods. But will he do so on Brazilian soil?
Mikey Marciano on the other hand would be defending his welterweight title against an unnamed opponent.
Sonny Giovanni Teases Mikey Marciano as the main event for Combate 241
Sonny "Flash" Giovanni, who trains alongside Mikey Marciano, has hinted that "The Bully" might step in as a replacement for the main event of Combate 241.
Giovanni posted a video to twitter, where Marciano can be seen training in the background:
"A lot of crazy news," Giovanni remarked. "But you know what? Someone's getting ready [Giovanni zooms in on Marciano on the pads], someone is getting ready - look at this guy. "
Combate 241 still looks redeemable after a few big fights fell through, and now the main event's potential replacement will allegedly "blow minds". Let's hope this isn't hyperbole and Combate matchmaking can put on some blockbuster matchups in Rio de Jeniero.
