The Baddest Man on the Planet

Fighter profile of Johnny Albatross by Chris Karter

The title of "the baddest man on the planet" no longer belongs to Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (67-15-0). Johnny "Vampire Hunter" Albatross (32-5-0) hails from Seville, Spain, training at the legendary John Wayne's gym in the Phillipines. Johnny prophecies what could possibly be the kryptonite for, what prior to this weekends loss, seemed like an invincible Ryoto "War Machine" Takahashi (31-9-0).

The spaniard Johnny Albatross believes that he knows what will be the undoing of the seemingly unstoppable Ryoto Takahashi. The newly crowned Syn' lightweight champion successfully captured the title at SYN 1027 this week in incredible fashion after dominating former champion Rod De Minaur enroute to a unaminous decision. The opening round was the most competitive before Takahashi's superior technique and physical attributes started to seperate him from his opponent as the rounds went on.

Albatross has previously been called out by Ryoto Takahashi when Ryoto reminded him that he used to fight at Bantamweight earlier in his career, and the shoe is now on the other foot. It seems that 'Vampire Hunter' wants to face-off against the lightweight king if all the cards fall into place. Unfortunately for Johnny, Takahashi's reign as #1 P4P has come to an end, after his caveman like fighting style would cost him the lightweight title in the rematch with Rod de Minuar.

Johnny Albatross is also known for his chaotic and marauding fighting style, and has thrown caution to the wind in fights on a number of occasions. Sometimes he comes out and gets in your face, gives you the business, and other times he sits back and flows like water, like Bruce Lee, waiting for a moment to drive a stake through his opponents heart aka punching your opponents lights out.

Whilst his exciting style provides fans with much entertainment, it doesn't always lend itself to helping him win fights. That is one way that he and Takahashi are similar. But that didn't stop him from sharing his confidence that the chaotic style he fights with could be the "kryptonite" of Ryoto Takahashi. Johnny Albatross said this:

"Ryoto hasn't fought anyone who sees red. He hasn't been in a dogfight with a real fighter. He has fought polished guys… but the dogfight is his kryptonite. He bleeds. Yes, like me, he has power. But have you ever tried to have a conversation with him? For an Asian, his IQ is really disappointing."

Johnny "Vampire Hunter" Albatross has won six performance bonuses out of his ten total Combate fights thus far. It includes a Fight of the Night against Anurak Bualuang at C228 and Knockout of the Night against Eduardo Corassa at C207 that helped his capture the Combate bantamweight title. Johnny's latest fight was another Combate title defense in the bantamweight division, a rematch with Anurak Bualuang at C246 that ended the same way the first fight ended - by knockout via a Fight of the Night winning honors.
