From the "Pit" to the Penthouse

Editorial by Tokzik Wayste

It started in a hole in the wall gym in Olympia, WA called "The PIT".  Jonny Dahman was an ambitious young fighter in the local amature circuit. Training and fighting became a way of life for him, nothing could slow him down.  Jonny started a bit later than most of the guys in the gym but was no less eager or talented and after a few short years proved it by earning the title, "Olympia Proving Grounds Amature Featherweight Champion".

Jonny's heart was dedicated to the sport itself, having not only trained to fight but also played a large role in building the Olympia Proving Grounds Amature League.  Jonny not only excelled in the ring but also had a gift of recognizing talent and being in the right place at the right time, saying just the right things to just the right people.  These talents got him recognized by some other very talented people and this opened the door to his professional career.

Jonny cut to bantam wieght and debuted on the professional scene with an impressive first round win over a much more experienced fighter.  Jonny's past experiences enabled him to operate without a manager, negotiate his own fights, and most importantly cut out the middle man.  Continuing to have success in the ring and pocket all the proceeds from his fights he set his sights on a much higher goal, one that would allow his love for the sport to to really make a difference.

Jonny, being 60% owner of the Olympia Proving Grounds Amature League and sole owner of the Olympia Proving Grounds trademark name, managed to amass a decent little fortune for a small town fighter only just breaking into the professional world.  He used these funds to start his own contribution to the longevity of the sport, the Olympia Proving Grounds fight organization (OPG).

OPG has only just begun its journey into the world of MMA and is already showing strong promise.  OPG has quickly put together an impressive young roster of fighters that are showing L.A. they are here to stay and they are hungry.  With not one but two successful events under their belt, OPG is already set on their next event, OPG 3, and it's really starting to look like it will be one heck of a show.  Taking place at Paddy O'Malley's Arena in Los Angeles on 6-21-24, be sure to get your tickets and be prepared to watch an impressive showing of amazing talent.

Jonny and OPG look to be putting L.A. on notice, look out everyone there is hungry old dog leading an organization full of hungry young dogs.  They are fired up, looking to make waves, and challenge any and all who stand in their way on their fight to the top.  Good luck OPG this writer and the rest of L.A. are watching.
