Why Willie Diggs rejected 4th fight with Gord Ryan

Fighter profile of Willie Diggs by Chris Karter

Willie Diggs (32-4 MMA, 14-1 SYN) isn't exactly keen getting into the cage for a defense of his SYN middleweight championship if the opponent is supposed to be Gord Ryan (16-6 MMA, 1-0 SYN).

Willie Diggs is SYN's pound-for-pound No.1-ranked fighter and the #2 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, behind only his teammate Ezekiel Marley. Willie, with a modern era record or proven dominance against an array of opponents including Joe Exotic, Winston Todd, Bora Khan, Cormac McCarthy, and Kane Thoupos. He last fought at SYN 1078 where he beat the s*** out of Runt's prized pony, but will likely compete at least once more before he hangs up the gloves.

Willie and Gord Ryan share history, and unfortunately for Gord Ryan he's been on the receiving end of an ass-whooping by Willie Diggs on three different occassions, suffering three knockout losses as a result.

"Beat a man once, you had the better night. Beat a man twice, you're the better fighter. Beat a man three times, and you're his daddy." Willie says with a laugh. "I ain't tryin' to marry this n***a."

It's hard to deny Willie's logic when all the facts are taken into consideration. Willie is a future SYN Hall of Famer with a decorated and legendary resume. He may be the greatest middleweight fighter of all time. Gord Ryan's career highlight consist of being Willie's personal punching bag, and one can understand why Willie and his camp would want to spare poor Ryan and Jason Swanson another one sided beating.
